Barbie’s Lowered Expectations House.
Put that thing in Flyover Country and cue the Palin jokes. Put it in northeast DC and it magically becomes a fashion statement.
It’s odd… You only read stories about how great it is to be poor, how empowering it is to settle for less, when a Democrat is president. If a Republican was in charge, would WaPo be doing stories about how awesome it is to live in a breadbox?
They’re just trying to prepare you for the inevitable crash. Their ideas don’t work and they know it, so now all they can do is try to make you think their failure is somehow a statement of principle.

How is this different from a single-wide…
…trailer that is
Just enough room to exist…
Am I the only one who noticed that these mini-houses are being built after tropical storm Sandy? Anyone want to weather a gale-force wind or a tornado in what is essentially a fancy garden shed?
Aren’t prison cells mandated to be larger than these “houses” in order to humanely house convicts?
Hey!
No worries,
as long as you make payments they can close up both ends and bury you in it.
Then your wife can use your life insurance to buy her and her new stud/husband a nice place to live..
What do they cost? What can you rent them for? These are dog houses, right?
Living in one of these will either make or break a marriage:

Yikes! Our new Airstream trailer is larger.
This area is the anti-Surrey,where every house built is about 6000 square feet, with multiple suites and entrances.
They should offer a model of those “tiny houses” with padded walls.
These mini-homes/condos are also popular in Hogtown.
I have perhaps a different take on the trend. I see the Agenda 21 angle where rural lifestyles will be taxed and or regulated out of existence in favour of a compressed urban footprint. This leaves Gaia to restore herself to pre-human pristine condition, particularly in those vast connective corridors such as the Rocky Mountains from Mexico to the Yukon.
Well fer starters….ya couldn’t get a building permit fer one of these playhouses hereabouts unless it was fer a toolshed…..not a residence.

Bingo.
They need a never ending exponentially growing multitude of taxpaying consumers to continually “grow the economy”; they just don’t want them to spread out all over the place.
Smaller and tighter slave quarters will be required on the finite resources granted to the masses.
It might make a good ice-fishing hut, but it’s a bit tight for a permanent residence. Also, I believe it should be banned because it violates the rights of obese people. That’s definitely a ‘No fat chicks allowed’ residence.
I think I’ll find a big chunk of crown land and build a small log home and never see urbia or suburbia again…
The only difference I can see between these and squatters shacks in third world countries is these are prettier. Oh, and they appear to have indoor plumbing. Sorry, they’re smaller, too.
YUP, gotta hand it to the Dems, they sure know how to run a country. Into the ground.
I just love listening to Rick Santelli telling it like it is. Trouble is, the survivor watchers aren’t listening.
Do you know who else lived in little boxes and were told to be happy about it? People who languished under communism.
Welcome to the new normal.
Someday our kids will look back at the glory days of the 20th century, and wonder how we did it. The first 7 seconds of this sum it up:

Idiots on the street and on the tube are all pumped about the drop in unemployment (U3), and they don’t know that it was because of so many people dropping out of the job market (so they are no longer “unemployed”) and that 73% of the jobs created in the last 5 months were government jobs (in other workds the rate has been manipulated in a very expensive way by 0’s minions). http://cnsnews.com/news/article/73-new-jobs-created-last-5-months-are-government
I’m thinking about selling all my stocks, and getting at least half of my 401-K and IRA into cash before the stampede starts. May as well take the capital gains at the current rate on the stock, and there may be some serious drops in the mutual funds. Might miss part of a rise, but I’ll accept that. They can only keep up this economic potemkin village for so long before it collapses. Bracing for impact……….
