    Muslims in general come across as cowards, and this is just another one those disrespectful cowardly acts.

    Then sit back and see which one is prosecuted in the MSM and HRC’s as a hate crime.

I’ve always been against our involvement in the Afghan conflict for two reasons – first, I do not feel traditionalist Afghanis are worthy of the sacrifices our people make attempting to pull them from their mediaeval tyranny/squalor, and secondly the majority of Afghanis don’t want our help nor do they favour a liberal democracy over Sharia tyranny and theocratic barbarism. I have no animosity or hatred of the Afghan people – they are what they are – an unevolved barbaric tribal culture. One can no sooner blame them for this than one can blame a hyena for being a hyena. You don’t “hate” the hyena because it is by nature a savage pillaging tribal creature but neither do you go looking for trouble attempting to domesticate it nor do you open your home to undomesticated wild animals and allow them the run of the place. Such wild creatures are best left alone because any attempt to change their strongly engrained nature almost always results in having to kill the creature when it violently resists change (domestication) – just as some atavist cultures are best left to their insular xenophobic tribal ways – to change them you must fight and kill them – why? This is so counter-productive and hypocritical of liberal democratic conventions. Just leave them alone to evolve at their own pace. Even progressives like Margret Mead knew this.
    One of the benefits of libertarian non-aggression/non-interventionist foreign policy is the fact you never find yourself suffering loss of military personel to protect/change people who neither want it nor deserve it. And the highlight of libertarian immigration policy is the entry safeguards which ensure you only naturalize immigrants who are culturally compatible with, or accommodating of the established national culture. We are a liberal democratic nation and a free society under rule of common law – if an immigrant has enough distaste for this convention that they engage in radical protest to change it, perhaps they have not chosen the right nation to adopt as a new home. We save ourselves a lot of fractious divisive social disruption if we ensure culturally unaccommodating people never come here in the first place – we shouldn’t meddle in changing their culture any more than we want them changing ours – it’s the least we can do to keep faith with our fallen who died to defend our liberal democratic culture and its free society.

    I can give you more reasons, ones the media never reported.Afghanistan has major oil pipe lines running through it.Why do you think the Russians spent all those lives there. Its all about big oil profits,and they waste our solders in order to protect it.Whats worse is these oil companies are American controlled, and Canada has no interest in protecting them.

  16. Occam is correct. No multicultural nihilism exhibited in his comment.
    One shouldn’t expect a non-uniformed enemy to act as if it were one. That’s also why fighting a war against such an enemy in their own wastelands under the rules of conduct designed for (relatively civilized) uniformed soldiers is futile and senseless.
    Private discrimination is the only peaceful solution to creeping Shariah,IE, Zero civil tolerance of the retrograde religion enforced by warlord theocracy (shariah).
    Given that private discrimination is not allowed by the state in Canada and the political establishment along with the institutional left sees all identity groups equally as constituencies, the (1400 year old) war is now in your backyard. Have fun with it!

Because the vast majority of these people are ordinary apathetic human beings like the rest of us who are fleeing truly terrible conditions in their homelands and want a shot at a nicer life, and basic humanitarianism argues that we give them that shot as much as is possible and we can afford to. They don’t want anybody dead, personally; they just want to be left alone and are perfectly happy to leave the Jihad to that tiny crazy minority who actually want to fight it.
    The problem is that, understandable and sympathetic as these motivations are, it renders this apathetic majority worse than useless when it comes to stopping the tiny crazy minority, because in both an ideological and a practical sense they become the human shields for the jihadists; no legal practice nor military action can ever be wholeheartedly embraced because nobody — not even the Muslims themselves, by the very definition of Islam — can viably separate the passive Apathetists, who have not actually committed any crimes, from the active Jihadists who have and do, and the cost to the passive nonhostiles is always deemed too high to seriously go after the active hostiles.
    It may be that our concern with separating innocents from combatants is a tactical weakness that Islam, which does not make nearly so forceful or fundamental a distinction between the two, is bound to always have an advantage in exploiting. But I think it is still worth upholding that principle. Let us not pick up the Ring from a desire to do good.

    There are many sects within Islam. Of these, two are notorious for their promotion of terror — Wahhabi maniacs and Shi’ite Khomeiniacs. Many Muslims are pacifists, and as you correctly pointed out ‘are fleeing truly terrible conditions in their homelands and want a shot at a nicer life’.
    62% of the American people do not personally know any Muslim. What one don’t know one fears — human nature.
    As far as discriminating between civilians and combatants is concerned, Islam has strict laws of warfare. The terroristic cults/sects will neither adhere to nor acknowledge that these apply to civilians but they have no authority to rewrite the laws of war.

  24. The author was probably inspired by the CBC’s attack on our military. And I’ll choose to impose a reverse onus policy, just as the CBC likes to do, and assume the state broadcaster was the inspiration behind this attack until evidence comes in to prove otherwise.
    And I wonder how long it will take them to say the Praise Allah part “might suggest” (editorial insert by the reporter/anchor, of course) it “could be” the work of an agent provocateur, whose aim was to pin this on Muslims.

  26. I would merely note that after WW II, the Rules of Engagement for Germans who attacked Allied personnel were SOMEWHAT different from the CURRENT Rules of Engagement. And I would also note that WW II was the LAST war the West has won. In spite of FDR and Truman…

    Well…sort of…kind of.. There are some Veterans out there that would argue we had decisive victories in Grenada in ’83 and Panama in 1990. On a scale of 1 to 10 they would barely register but since you put LAST in capital letters I figured I better throw this in just to keep yu’ honest:)
