  3. This is a phase of chaos where a new more functional infrastructure hasn’t developed and what exists is an open field for any random force to take power. Same thing happens in biology. The development of the new infrastructure of constitutional democracy was the agenda and role of the Bush Doctrine that Obama abandoned.
    Because Obama abandoned this ‘developmental phase’, a vacuum chaos phase emerges, and various different adversarial groups emerge to fight and attempt to take power.
    Wow where to begin. Um first Obama’s FP is almost exactly the same as Bush’s. We are still being asked to baby sit for other countries. If Obama really did abandon the Bush doctrine, that would be worth celebrating. ‘Development of constitutional infrastructure’? Oh you mean what we’ve been doing for over 10 years in Afghanistan? No thanks. You’re welcome to go over there if you want to fix it so bad.
    Asking again: ANY proof that Iran is really behind this all? Any at all?

Polygamy as it is practiced in the Middle East means that the high-status men get several wives and as many concubines as they can handle, and low-status men are left with their frustrations. It looks to me as though there are two outcomes: in quiescent times, the young men indulge heavily in gay sex; and in tumultuous times they get involved in violent activities. Suicide bombing solves their problems; it brings posthumous reputation, and money for their families. War and survivable forms of terrorism increase their status, and perhaps their fortunes, and puts them in positions where marriagable women, and legitimate children, become possible. The payoffs are better than drugs, which are I suppose a third possibility. There isn’t much downside to war and terrorism for them, other than death, which for a sexually frustrated young man may not seem all that awful.

  5. Perhaps a “bad case scenario” (maybe not “worst”) is that this unrest has been fully orchestrated so that Obama can intervene, hold up his hand, and all the violence stops, thus looking like a genius in foreign affairs. An “October surprise” of sorts?
    Iran can act with impunity because the White House did exactly zilch to give moral support (assuming no other is possible) to the 2009 protesters after the election that was quite likely a sham.
    This unfortunately is standard stuff on the international scene. When leftists or their pets engage in election fraud (e.g., Zimbabwe), it’s news for a day or two but then it’s a big yawn and business as usual. But let a country elect a “right-winger” in a free and fair election, like Hungary did, and they’re persona non grata.
    I have to think it’s all part of the Marxist tactic per Gramsci of infiltrating the institutions. The Cold War is not over until the Marxists are routed. Fortunately we have reality on our side, but we have to recognize that.
    Meanwhile, even Quebecois NDP separatiste makes a good point in the thread.

  6. Pretending where not in a real war for our very survival as a civilization is a sign of high decadence. People will believe anything but the truth. Because the reality of the situation is too much for the childish minds now churned out by propagandist Marxism in what used to be schools. BY silly Men & Women who live in fantasy worlds. Our whole culture thanks to leftist thought, has had a mental collapse.
    Mean while the left thinks exactly like the totalitarians they are. Its why they don’t even have a concept of right or wrong. Let along civilization anymore. Too busy extolling the virtues of killing babies to sleeping with dead people. Oddly enough just like the savages they protect by lying or inventing excuses for like the Islamics. Mean while they go nuts over Christianity.

I’m sure the Romans though the Germans no threat. The Assyrians the Meades & Persians. The Greeks thought the Romans a quaint people. The Egyptians the Babylonians as civilized folk.
    I have watched this escalate since the 1968 Olympics. From skyjackings till 9/11. Its intensifying dude not stopping. Look at every Ramada. People are catching on. Look at the signs those people are carrying, they where made days before by a company. They knew this was in the making. I suppose you think Pearl Harbor was just Japans being angry for an oil embargo as well?
    That they killed an American Ambassador on a day like 9/11 was an accident.This is war declared on the West. These folks want a World Caliphate.
    Of course Christians being slaughtered from Nigeria to Somalia & in Egypt mean nothing to the left either. Including Hindus along with Buddhists. Its their fault right?
