  1. When I saw this post come up in my blog reader feed I instantly knew which province’s Deputy Premier you meant…

  2. Utterly contemptable, but that’s how I feel about Redali’s progressive government.

  3. When I read this, I thought first of the abuse that Gerry Ritz took for his comment that the listeria crisis was like “Death by a thousand cold cuts.” From what I understand, Ritz was indulging in some gallows humour in the midst of a very trying situation. His comment was made privately and was uttered by a man who was working hard to keep ahead of a developing tragedy.
In this case, the comment was put into writing and posted on-line by someone who did not seem to be very involved with the situation. That’s one major difference.
The other is that the Ritz comment, as gallows humour, was funny. The Lukaszuk comment wouldn’t have been funny as gallows humour and is even less funny in the context in which it was made.
I think that Jason Kenney is right again.

  4. Dipshit Luze’s excuse….I’m out of the country, and didn’t know the extent.Right,a**hole.To busy wasting my money to watch the news a little longer? We are becoming the mini-US here in RedCINO land.

  5. I used to live 3 condos down from the nearest one. Someone I know might be dead (those are long staff housing units).
What an Asshole is an understatement.
I wonder if C311 has the same phone #
Nah, and I don’t need the details either.
What a prick, I hope whomever voted for him feel like a clown, too.

  6. Where is the asshole ?

No idea.Nobody’s saying. But if I had to hazard a guess,I would say at the UN,doing some work for his commie boss concerning AB’s CO2 sequestration.

  7. I guess as conservatives, the right to offend as part of free speech only extends to people you like. Complain about political correctness no more!
And I am a libertarian, not a Canadian conservative (ie LIBERAL in DENIAL)

  8. the bear … this has nothing to do with rights and free speech; neither decency nor dignity have political colours.
I think every single person who voted for this douchebag should be shamed.

  9. As Xiat pointed out … this has absolutely nothing to do with freedom of speech or political correctness. Lukascuk had every right to say what he did. No one is disputing that. What is being pointed out is an example of what most people already knew … that Lukascuk is an insensitive d*ckhead lacking any trace of common sense or dignity. He can spout whatever stupidity comes into his mind at the time, however with that right comes the possibility of being called on it.

  10. This is the poor dear who made a big deal about being assaulted by an elderly man with liver failure because, despite repeated requests, he just wouldn’t stop babbling about politics and get offa the guy’s lawn.
He was “shaken but not injured”. That’s Lukaszuk. Tom Lukaszuk.

  11. BS, you’re biased and your true Full of BS colours are showing. You guys should be ASHAMED. The right to free speech includes the right to offend. You’re a pair of PC enablers. IE LIBERALS in DENIAL! You don’t have to like what he said, but to condemn what he said is an endorsement of political correctness. Defend all you want but you’re just a liberal in denial. There’s a few of you around here.

  12. Bear has no concept of couth. S/he also fails the primary responsibility of free-speech, that of the requirement to respond to ignorance with enlightenment.
No one infringed or is proposing to remove the Deputy Premiers right to say or post anything he wants.
Just as no one (save one) here is trying to shut down our response.
Who exactly is against free speech?

  13. The guy could be a dolt, looks like a dolt, hairdo like a dolt, but anyone who is offended by this is looking to be offended. I think Raj Sherman made a joke, oh I’m offended, I’m offended by Brian Masons tweets also, who do I complain to, as if there isn’t something bigger to offend the easily offended. Free speech people, it will offend someone somewhere sometime, boo hoo. My new bumper sticker, for a mere 10.95 will say I’m Offended By The Intolerant, Find Them And Kill Them

  14. Bear and Bartinsky seem to be promoting a libertarian’s version of “Embrace Diversity”, wherein we are somehow expected to affirm or at least maintain a respectful silence about other people’s “free speech”, lest we be thought to be in the grips of political correctness or, horror of horrors, “Liberals in Denial” (p’tui).

  15. Me a liberal Rosie! Well wait till my friends/family see that statement, chair tipping over time. I’m no liberal, but grousing about this twits tweets is like one construction worker bitching to the boss that all the other men on the crew are wearing the same reflective coveralls as him.

  16. The Alberta Conservatives are CINO (Conservative in Name Only)just like the Republicans. I think Alberta lost it’s way in electing this government.
Why is that smart people elect these liberals in conservative clothing?

  17. Mike M., good question. It appears that many people are fooled by the liberal posing as a conservative quite often.

  18. Let’s all agree that political correctness means social pressure to restrict/shut up political speech.
The mudslide doesn’t seem to fit as a political topic, so a claim of PC when criticizing Lukaszuk seems like a last ditch defense of the clown by a diehard Lukaszuk supporter ( that is, if you can get past the er, problem, of contemplating a phrase as absurd as ” diehard Lukaszuk supporter” without collapsing into convulsions of uncontrollable laughter ).

  19. bartinsky, libertarian is NOT, nor should it EVER be equated with being a liberal!
I think it’s ironic that we are debating the slippery slope of political correctness over a comment about a mudslide!

Someone like you made a snide jab at a friend who committed suicide after a long struggle with addiction.
I no longer speak to her, she can’t understand why.
She has no real friends, just fellow syncophants, and thats why.

  21. I associate libertarians with drug legalization. That always seems to be a non-negotiable with them.

  22. as always when losing an argument the default is name calling…
and dwright you DON’T know me

  23. Senior member of the Alberta governing party posts a stupid joke on Facebook about a real calamity in a neighboring province. Appears to confirm the judgement of a federal MP.
Nice going Ms. Redford. Were you to fall from your horse and suffer serious injury, we would be subjected to more of this guy?
