It amazes me how those who believe themselves liberal are forever goose stepping over the rights of others.
Why is it that one part of me can’t wait for the day when radical Islam completely rules the West, and I can have the pleasure of seeing all the Left commie “infidels'” heads being publicly lopped off?
And another part of me sees a terrible evil descending on the West that I need to fight against with every fibre of my being?
Which impulse should I listen to? And if the answer is “to preserve the West”, then why?
Why preserve a sex-crazed society of perverts, genocidal abortionists, cowards, liars and thieves from the onslaught of another society of perverts, genocidal killers, cowards, liars and thieves? Hey, maybe they’ll both wipe each other out!!
Why should we be responsible for fighting both at the same time anyway? Somebody please convince me, ’cause I’m losin’ faith that there’s anything worth saving in the West…
God forgive me but I kind of relish the idea that certain Liberal politicians without a bone of ethical fortitude would end up as food for the vultures. I’m not suggesting that I would personally turn them into vulture food, but if enough of us simply stand back, let nature take her course and let evil over-run the West…
Shouldn’t a charity or any organization be able to freely choose what/who they support? I always avoided anything to do with the Susan G. Komen foundation like the plague because of their ties to Planned Parenthood. A few days ago I was proud of them for dropping their support of PP. Now it’s back to the same avoidance. I wonder what Susan G. Komen would think of what the foundation named after her is actually supporting…
It was obvious other donors would pick up the slack, such as Mayor Bloomberg and others…they had no need for Komen’s $$ anymore. It’s a shame they caved.

I to feel your angst in a feeling that the West is being dismantled from within as well as from outside forces.
I do however have some faith left. The right does have it’s warriors, this blog is a prime example. I believe that we should never surrender, do what we can as individuals and where possible join as a collective force.
It’s like that final battle in Lord of the Rings where all the various factions join together against the forces of darkness.
The right has to take the gloves off. This idea that we are better than them and will not cow down to that level is stupidity. Kick them in the nuts for a change…kick them hard often, even when they are down.

The flip-flopping of our rights is happening everywhere and has gone on for many years until it has reached the tipping point.
Ontario’s McGuinty brought in the forced sex ed for kids last year, but when parents vociferously objected he backed off. Now he and Education Minister Laurel Broten are supporting it again, objections be damned. In addition, Broten has even taken to publicly calling Catholics “homophobes” who oppose Gay-straight alliances forced on their children.
Since when does a Government Minister get away with officially labelling an entire group of people with a hate propaganda label and get away with it in a free democracy?! When the State engages in this sort of false labelling of its citizens it is the very definition of State-sponsored hate propaganda as understood post-WWII Nazi experience.
These Catholics are not trying to persecute and lynch Gays as they do Iran — they are simply rejecting the ethics of the homosexual lifesyle for themselves (ironically the real homophobes like Islamo-fascist Iran likewise persecutes Catholics).
Liberal left politicians seem to have embraced fascism and they are dumping our constitutional freedoms down the toilet. It is trending worse every day. At what point is an armed insurrection against them appropriate under our Canadian Constitution? I’m quite serious — at what point would it be constitutionally LEGAL for us to have a “Canadian spring”, forceably overthrow the buggers and put them on trial?
Or are Canadians only allowed to militarily fight fascism in places like Europe and elsewhere? What if fascism comes to our own shores, or infiltrates our own Government — are Canadians allowed to militarily resist it?

NPR radio weenies say that abortions are only 3% of Planned Parenthood’s business, they must have a lot of business since they provide hundreds of thousands of abortions, but if that’s only 3% of their business, why not stop providing abortions?

I quit giving to breast cancer charities a few years ago when the local “Walk for Breast Cancer” campaign PUBLICLY refused to accept a BIG donation from a group of women who were “strippers.Not to mention the irony of it all.

Further to Ricardo and others, I think the enemy within is a much greater threat to western civilisation than all the enemies outside. The common bond between the two is a total rejection and hatred for the concept of personal freedom. I also agree that the Left’s version of culture and society is simply not worth saving. The Left benefits from total freedom to destroy the very society that has given them that freedom; built on the blood and lives of so many. It is a sad reflection on our society that we have allowed this malignant virus to inflect and spread to just about every part of society. Many get exhausted in this war, since no matter how many battles, big and small, are won, one can never rest. I am not giving up, but I am not overly optimistic about the future of western civilisation.
Too many charities are simply money laundering schemes with fat corporate or call-centre benefactors. The charity theatre of Breast Cancer and other causes celebre which likely diverts funds from research on more lethal diseases is no different. According to one of the comments from the OC Register, Komen contributes only 20 to 30% of its revenue to actual Breast Cancer research. If true, this charity is just another “feel good” but very inefficient way to fund research.
Komen has now drawn too much attention to its links with Planned Parenthood. By caving under pressure from the thugs of toxic political correctness, they have likely made those aware who would have previously funded them but may not do so in the future.

Collective freedom is not a value of the Left either. The commie Left is not interested in free voluntary collectives, only a forced collective which by definition requires autocratic elites to police in order to enforce it. Hence, it is not a “collective” at all — real collectives are made up of individuals who voluntarily agree to something. Not only is consent required for voluntary collectives, but INFORMED consent — the real purpose of what you are agreeing to cannot be achieved through deception or misrepresention.
The Western Left’s new move toward “collectivism” vs. individualism is based on the idea that Communism was always basically good, but the Soviets somehow messed it up. So the Left wants to take another shot at it — without all the killing and torture etc. (Check out the CBC’s George Strombo’s “Love, Hate and Propaganda” documentary — total whitewash of Communism vs. “capitalism”, moral equivalency baloney, etc. The CBC actually believes it’s accurately portraying the history of Communism and there are still redeeming qualities in it!)
Except we are back at square one again — how do you enforce communist collectivism without the killing and torture? They think they can impose their brand of communism non-violently — legislatively or bureaucratically, or in the case of our children through early propaganda in the education system. But sooner or later people are going to say “no” and start breaking their laws to demand freedom. So you are back at square one: jail and re-education (which will fail), hence torture and murder again.
Why should humanity be subjected to that failed brutal experiment for a second time in history? Communism should have been universally rejected by the West with the same disdain and opprobrium as Nazism was. But it wasn’t, and now we are witnessing a revival of BOTH Communism and fascism-Nazism albeit under completely different fronts.

Mark Steyn writes a great column and unfortunately there are not more doing the same. It seems that no matter how many warnings are given about the direction we are going the collectivist juggernaut just keeps going.

I always found those pink ribbons everywhere a bit creepy and rather cultish.
I’m not a big supporter of the professional charities that use things like pink ribbons for public awareness. It always seems to me that they spend too much money on fund raising/wages and too little money on their stated goal but still and all this one seems very odd. The pink ribbon campaign is ostensibly pro-life while PP is decidedly pro-death. The pink ribbon giving money to PP is akin to the B’nai Brith giving money to keep Auschwitz in operation.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation does not know it yet , but because of the backtracking they will lose most of their funding. NO one likes flip flopper’s.
They had a 100% increase in donations for standing up to a bully. Foe giving in they will loose much more. WE all know how cheap the left is with their money. They will never make up what these people have contributed, The left will laugh while leaving them in a sink hole . The right who thought they seen some courage will justly leave them as they have become. Cowardly social lepers.

If planned parenthood spends only 3% on abortions it is because they have successfully spent the remaining 97% advertizing and lobbying. The browbeating spineless and stupid politicians into using YOUR money to pay for the abortions and the PR programs to elicite money from the ignorant and foolish …. work.
Like many social activist orgs … what ever good intention was behind the origin …they have become an entity that exists for the sake of its own existence.

Mark my words when ever things god bad for the Israelites they would grown and moan and god would save them some way some how …..it still happens to this very day with the Romans the Greeks ,the British ,next will be America and the west …and once we are all growing and moaning we will return to god and stick together …while the Muslims and the uber liberals fight over there stupid self righteousness and we will al sit back from the side lines and watch em all die.
