  1. Slit trenches will suddenly become popular…that is if you can dig faster than 210 m/sec.
Reminds me of those famous old 50s fallout movies for nuclear weapons defence ‘Duck and Cover’. As if hiding under your desk would be a useful strategy for a nuclear shock wave.
I can see the Taliban adopting hand held shields shortly…
Snipers on the other hand will likely still be a problem as the stand off distance and concealment will still present a problem.
“War is merely politics by other means” still holds true however.
Or for Canada: “Re classifying 0.22 calibre rifles is the gun registry by other means.”
    Cheers

    1st Saint Nicolaas Army

  2. saw this on TV a few months back , it had a penetrating bullet that could shot through bricks and then the next round would explode behind the wall. the soldier could adjust it plus-minus so you could get someone close behind the wall or back a couple of feet.

  3. Hans, I gotta ask, but who or what is the “1st Saint Nicolass Army”
    and
“Army Group ‘True North'” indicate there is another group like yours out there.
How many members in your unit?

  4. Certainly the proximity fuse, which this somewhat resembles, considerably increased the lethality of AA rounds.
Still, it is the man not the weapon that wins battles.

  5. That banning of that plinker is proof positive the Agenda 21 has infiltrated the RCMP.
The 2 rifles in question involve “bullpup” designs…placing the action in the butt well behind the grip and trigger….buzzing off the butt is like sawing the rifle in two…with the barrel in one peice and the action/bolt in the other.
    The old criteria was…
designed to or adapted to fire from an overall length of 27.5 in with a minimum barrel length of 18 in….or the ability to fire more than one cartridge with a single pressure of the trigger.
    That was sensible….
This nonsense is not…it’s not critical thinking…it’s all about feelings….the Gramski long march throught the institutions has reached the RCMP….
Removing this element from the RCMP or the snivel service will be like removing burrs from a sheep-dog.

  6. Burrs from a sheep-dog: shave him to the skin (a few nicks help) gets the job done and shows the true colour of his skin.

  7. The Police (RCMP, OPP , Municipal forces) have become an acronym for stupidity, dereliction of duty, & corruption. Tools of a State run bureaucracy, with its political fads. To “serve & protect” has become a National joke after Caledonia. More like to hold people , Protection racket, run, then abuse the public as long as their not certain groups. Is more their style now. That police departments Nation wide, can’t even meet a recruitment drive lasting 5 years, is a testament of how many view a once honorable profession. Fining 82 years olds who cant blow is only a symptom of a deep malaise that underlines its continuing uselessness. Except as tax collectors, Bullies, no sense left martinets of political correctness for the State.
as a kid I really admired the RCMP . The Police where actually there to help, not arrest you even when you where the victim. Not state enforcers with the courage of numbers.Proud men who did a tough job in a society that had individual rights. Now brainless Bunnies with guns enforcing stupidity in the name of laws now degraded by politicians. I blame the public Unions, Increasingly politicized Administration, plus collective Marxism for the degeneracy.

  8. Cool rifle, saw it several months ago.
That said, we should be carpet bombing the enemy, not worrying about collateral damage.
The way we’ve been fighting this war for 10 years we’re going to withdraw this year and the Taliban will be declaring victory and be back in power within 6 months after we’re gone.
Nothing will have been accomplished, not even teaching the enemy that attacking us is more expensive than it’s worth.

  9. I’m sure the RCMP lab will state that it is a variant of something prohibited. In fact, since there is no avenue for appeal, that might literally be their statement “It’s a variant of something prohibited”.

  10. The recoil technology in that beast must be a thing of beauty! 25MM is a hair under one inch diam. That’s a friggin’ cannon shell!!
“You fire it.” “No, no, YOU fire it; I insist!”
    🙂

  11. I’d be curious to know who’s been trying to hack into computers that may hold the secret of how the round’s fuse works. My suspicion is that they’re from a country whose last original thought was gunpowder. But hey! Let the trade floogates continue to open!

  12. The last minute action of the zealots before the gun registry is eliminated is outrageous, but I am also extremely disappointed in the government for defending it. First off deciding which firearms should be banned is the responsibility of Parliament, not the RCMP, not the courts and not the bureaucrats. These bans are totally based on cosmetic looks, so one could apply the same logic to bans on toy guns and what have you. Secondly, confiscation without due compensation amounts to theft of private property, which is unacceptable. I hope people concerned about this mockery of justice and common sense will swamp the PM with their concerns. I wager any amount of money that were the registry not on its last legs, these weapons would have remained legal and untouched.

  13. Big whoop! Used to do the same thing with the same result with a 60mm mortar – about a fraction of the cost. A good and well practiced team could land the bomb just as effectively.

  14. The problem with the 60mm was that there was one in the whole platoon…This thing looks like it can be a section weapon or even an individual weapon…in effect, everyone becomes a “mortar man”. Much more effective.

  15. Nothing preventing bullpup ownership in Canada, both the Keltec RFB and KSG are un-restricted, as is the Tavor and others. The problem arises when the firearm can still be fired without the stock attached (G22 apparently)…then the RCMP will get its panties in a bunch.

  16. To go after gophers we’ll need one that will sense that the critter has gone down the hold and follow him in…..shredded gopher guts. Will bring a new image to road kill. LOL

  17. Dammit, should have bought shares, these things are going to sell like hotcakes!
It is a Bull-pup and has explosive charge so will not be allowed by the gun grabbing left.
That said I saw some gay guy whining on TV today about his rights to legal marriage in Canada. Hey buddy, when you leave my rights alone and I can conceal carry, open carry. and own the firearm I want, I’ll leave your gayness to marry whom you wish to alone.

  18. Is THAT why the Conservatives delayed the ending of the LGR by two months,to allow the RCMP to seize one more class of guns?
Gonna E-mail my MP about this one.

  19. Yeah, I agree. If the gays were persecuted like gun owners are there would be such a kerfuffle over their ‘human rights’ being violated. Besides, I don’t know why anyone pays any attention to the fudge-packers and the lesbos. I don’t give a hoot what any consenting adults want to do in the privacy of their lives. I’m far more concerned about child molesters and pedophiles. The punishment for them should be physical castration, no exceptions.

  20. Old story. I posted a link about here several months ago.
That the economist is only now writing about it says alot about how far that journal has fallen over the last fifteen years…

  21. North of 60 >
Agreed. The point was about the far left gun grabbers wanting to restrict our rights and in the next breath whining about theirs with a national audience and a MSM red carpet.

  22. It looks like it would be effective against stapler wielding tourists….I suppose the RCMP will want a few.

  23. I want the XM25. It’s an unsporting gun – but Talibangers are unsporstmanlike rodents.
That Walther is just a POS though. I actually handled one and for me the balance put me right off. Plus, they look like cheap pieces of plastic. If you’re going to do a bullpup at least put some effort into it.

    Yep. That works for me.

Don’t get knots in your toga…..221mps is only about 800 fps…..the 40mm blooper tube wasn’t that hairy a recoil experience.

“Big whoop! Used to do the same thing with the same result with a 60mm mortar – about a fraction of the cost. A good and well practiced team could land the bomb just as effectively.”
I was thinking more of the “blooper tube” 40mm.
With a high trajectory a good blooper man could literaly drop a grenade right on them…this just makes it easier and first shot effective.
Sounds like they are working on a round to fit that….IMHO that’s the ticket to clean out a position….bigger payload and all.

  25. “One wonders what the RCMP might make of it”
Rhetorical question Mark. They will do EVERYTHING within their politically correct dogma to kill this. Why. Because citizens with this can do the job those clowns are supposed to be doing!!(comment directed at only those officers who where born after 1965)

  26. Got to tell you this,
Being a soldier, drafted for 26 months, one of the things I had to have was AK-47. Had to carry it with me where ever I went.
To tell you the truth, the thing is a fine piece of machine gun. You hook up a 30 round magazine to it and when you target shoot, it is smooth as a well aged bourbon. You can shoot one at a time or switch to empty the magazine.
We never called it either a Kalashnikov or an AK-47, simply a machine gun. It is 1 m long with the bayonet on. Everything about is simple. Reminds me of a statement by the Russians at the space station, when they said that to fix a simple thing, you don’t have to go through major procedure when a screwdriver will do.
The absolutely worst part is the cleaning, we used cigarette ash to clean the recoil channel and the piston.

  27. The eCommunist is a little slow on this tale, and overall certainly not in favour of regular forces being successful against islamofascist scum.
And Americans to boot, they must find that totally revolting.
They can just go to Bradford for a group hug with their ideal citizens.
Like they would ever leave their elitist enclaves to mix with the hoi polloi!
    Yeah, right, good one.
That old chap, is for the yobs!

  28. I find it odd and absolutely idiotic that the RCMP feels that a firearms should be banned based on looks alone. Oh well, in that case, if something should be banned because it is ugly and scary looking then Wendy Cukier should have been gone years ago.

  29. Agree that a mortar would do the same thing that the XM25 does but I suspect that the XM25 is a lot lighter than a mortar.
It will be interesting to see how well this rifle holds up in combat situations. I’m also interested in how well shielded the electronics are against EMP as this is one easy way to disable the XM25. Of course, powerful enough EMP generators are far too heavy to carry into the field and more suitable for fixed installations.
What I found hilarious was the secrecy behind the revolution counter in the bullet which determines the distance the bullet has traveled. This could be easily implemented with a 3-axis accelerometer chip and all one would need would be an accelerometer that could withstand the extreme acceleration when the bullet was fired. I’m curious whether the bullet computer also takes atmospheric pressure into account as the deceleration of the bullet would be affected by air density. Also needed in the programming would be the angle at which the bullet was fired as the length of the trajectory would be dependent on the angle. Presumably all of these calculations are done by the XM25 and downloaded into the bullet as the trigger is pulled.
Definitely not as simple as the AK47.

“..absolutely idiotic that the RCMP feels that a firearms should be banned based on looks alone”
That tends to be the Liberal public and their pandering Chiefs of Police more so than the cops on the street.
I sometimes run into the odd Mucho Macho cop at my local range parading around like peacocks dressed in fatigues and the latest greatest combat gear. They seem to be the only ones that get their noses out of joint when some chump civilian pulls out his restricted AR and starts plinking down range. This tends to be a power tripping ego thing more than the gun itself. I’ve also met many more cops who are either in basic uniform or street clothes that simply go “oh cool can I see that thing, mind if I try it”.

  31. Looks like something from Starship Troopers. I shudder to think what the RCMP and other cops would make of it. I’d trust Rico over those idiots.

  32. Revnant Dream and Ken Kulak:
Agreed. Police forces, at least most of them, have been completely politicized. They’re now totally under the thumb of the politically correct do gooders.

  33. Every household should have at least one of those.
That may be the best way to keep our society civil in the future. After all, we know that law enforcement and the justice system is on the way out.

  34. meanwhile….the ‘bama gov’t deliberately arms more criminals so they can disarm citizens because criminals are getting firearms…rest assured the liebrals here would do the same thing in a heartbeat if they needed to convince a judge their laws and registries were useful……

Another ATF weapons operation comes under scrutiny
Members of Congress want to see whether White Gun, like Fast and Furious, lost track of firearms that ended up with Mexican criminals.
In the late summer of 2010, the ATF agent leading the failed Fast and Furious gun-smuggling operation in Arizona flew to Mexico City to help coordinate cross-border investigations of U.S. weapons used by Mexican drug cartels.
Now members of Congress who have spent months scrutinizing the Fast and Furious debacle are seeking to determine whether White Gun was another weapons investigation gone wrong.
“Apparently guns got away again,” said one source close to the investigation, led by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Vista) and Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa). “How many got into Mexico, who knows?”
