Accommodations

For years now large groups of kneeling Muslim men in France have been gathering en masse to pray in the streets, often blocking native French pedestrians’ access to the sidewalks, while local gendarmes look the other way.
In the interests of accommodating the public-access needs of the native French, a Muslim group has graciously stepped forward with a simple and straightforward solution: they are asking Church of France authorities to allow them to use empty Catholic churches:

Hassan M. Ben Barek, a spokesman for the (Banlieuses Respect) Collective, said the measure would “prevent Muslims from having to pray on the streets” and being “politicians’ hostages”.

No word yet on whether Jews and Catholics will be granted permission to pray in mosques during off-peak hours.

  1. If the Catholic church allows this to occur, they will look back at this as a turning point in the takeover of their country, and their churches.
dumbest_idea_of_2011. But wait, there’s still another 8 full months remaining.

  2. Difference is, Jews and Catholics are not bent on total elimination of all other religions.

  3. Difference is, Jews and Catholics are not bent on total elimination of all other religions.
    You forgot hell.

  4. Funny, I would think that it’s up to the individual church communities to relinquish their churches for something other than their original purpose. For that matter, it’s not anybody’s responsibility to provide for any religion except the adherents to that religion themselves. The sooner everyone understands this concept, the sooner everyone might get along.

  5. In the words of Saint Francis of Assisi: “You’ll pry my missal out of my cold, dead hands.”
Alright, he never said that. But he would ask why Catholics would let things get to the point where tribal cultists would even think of asking to intrude on hallowed ground.

  6. Can’t you all just pray together? It’s all going to the same “god”, after all. Seems rather wasteful to build a separate building for every friggin’ cult that pops up.

  7. “No word yet on whether Jews and Catholics will be allowed to pray in mosques during off-peak hours.”
    Nailed it!

  8. The Muslims have a plan, and they are executing it very well.
The atheists in the government don’t have a clue as to what is really going on, should get rubber stamped within the week. Remodeling to bring it up to Sharia will begin in 3..2…1…

  9. “Switch hands, Alex. Those calluses of yours must be excruciatingly painful.”
No, silly, you pray with both hands! Your imaginary friend can’t hear you if you’re not making the right motions.

  10. I guess the Saudi’s are starting to funnel their money to the overthrow of Yemmen, and aren’t interested in building new mosques in France. Although they still have lots of funds for Detroit and other American mosque projects. The Muslim Brotherhood is seeing to that.

  11. Alex, when I’m back in Canada later this year, I’d like to have a little tête à tête about who’s the fool. Let me know where, I’m sure I can route through your neighborhood, shoot that to me at shesgreat@hotmail.com
“Useful fool”? Thanks for projecting, amigo. 😉

  12. Sorry, I don’t meet women online. All kinds of freaks out there. Maybe if we e-mail each-other for a while, first? We’ll see.

  13. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if a Muslim prays in formerly occupied Christian lands/churches etc. they can then claim it for the Ummah?

  14. Alex, as a useful idiot, what do you think will be your last thoughts when your head is being sawed off your body?
Front or back of the line is still the same line, capiche?

  15. Kursk, as a cannibalistic child rapist, what do you think will be your last thoughts when you’re being hooked up to the electric chair?
Front or back of the line is still the same line, capiche?

  16. Wait, these are the very same muslims who are burning Christian churches in Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia and other Islamist hell-holes, right?

  17. Who says Muslims don’t have a sense of humor?
The fact is that the glorious cathedrals and magnificent churches of France are generally empty apart from a gaggle of elderly women and foreign art history students.
Since WWII, secularism has been adopted big time by former Christians, and everyone wonders what to do with these costly architectural relics.

  18. A friend of mine here in Oshawa is a member of church that just sold their building to a moslem group. Its a sad fact of life here in the west that we don’t need churches anymore. They are a relic of a culture that no longer exists. Many churches and church buildings in Toronto are turning into condos or being bulldozed so condos can be built. There are thousands of derelict thousand year old churches in england. When the current generation dies off most in the west will have no idea what a church was. I would rather see them bulldozed than used by moslems, but one way or another they are ancient history as far as the next generation is concerned.

  19. The growth of Christian communities centered around their churches contributed greatly to the fall of the Roman Empire, plunging Europe, North Africa, and the Near East into centuries of barbarism and poverty.
    Just sayin …

  20. If Muslims were ever to be allowed to worship in unused Catholic Churches, the churches would have to be deconsecrated. You couldn’t have Muslim worship, so very different from and in many ways opposed to Christian worship, being practised in a Christian venue without desecrating the space.
So, I can’t see this happening unless the Catholic Church deconsecrates the churches/cathedrals.
This issue clearly underlines the tragedy of Westerners having thrown over their Christian faith, the faith of their forebears which is largely responsible for our democratic way of life, for the biblical bowl of pottage or, in this case, a barren, selfish, no-future, under-seige, secularism.
    Kyrie Eleison/Lord, have mercy.

  21. Crusades, people. The memory is long when waiting for retaliation, methinks. Good grief…

  22. Well Alex , why don’t you make a visit to Pakistan to test your harmonious theory … be sure to have your will updated before you go.
… along a similar line, the author is correct that Muslims will never integrate , then he turns into a Neville Chamberlain like Alex.
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/personal-view/3633349/Muslims-can-never-conform-to-our-ways.html#
“… It is vain to say: “Well, if they come here, they must conform with British society and its easy ways.” Muslims will not do that. Their religion forbids it.
Why do we suppose India had to be partitioned? There was no other way of keeping the peace in that great sub-continent. We cannot do that here, but perhaps we should be thinking in terms of a supreme council on which our principal religions, including Islam, would sit and try to resolve misunderstandings. …”

  23. Ummm, this didn’t work out so well when they borrowed the Hagia Sophia in Contantinopal. And the Visigothic Church of St Vincent in Cordoba Spain was borrowed for a while before being turned over to the Catholics and there are still issues about ownership. And the Ayia Sophia Catherdral in Cyprus is still being borrowed…
I don’t think they ever give it back….

  24. This is all bull. The Muslims can pray in their homes. If it was an oligation to pray in public we would see Muslim women praying in the streets.

  25. Alex. Show some repect for those with a different belief system than you. You may be an athiest but respect those who aren’t. If I were you, I wouldn’t be broadcasting my non-beliefs. When Sharia Law arrives ( with your approval of course) you will one of be the first to go.

  26. Notice Alexis shows up whenever religion is discussed? Ever notice his/her firm assertion they does not believe in anything superior to themself? Alexis non-believes as vigorously as any Pastor I ever met believes. What’s with that Alexis

  27. Sorry Ibrahim, wrong Christian church. It’s the United church of Canada you want…

  28. Jaimie, The United Church would be easy for them to get into. They will accept anything that’s thrown at them. No wonder the United Church is called – the NDP at prayer.

  29. Alex is a moral equivalence post modern mess with a me me me me mean streak.
All hail Alex he’s not religious he’s just holier than thou.

  30. Decry atheists all you want but the reality is that if all the muslims were to turn into atheists the problems with them would mostly be over. If anything destroys the world it will be religion with nuclear bombs between the religious nuts in Iran and Israel. There will never be peace as long as Islam and the West clashes over ‘my god’ verses ‘your god’, or to be more accurate ‘my allah’ verses ‘your yahweh’. As an atheists, I am extremely hostile to Islam and would forbid further immigration into the West. It’s the Christians who are hung up on ‘religious freedom’ and cannot deny muslim incursions.

  31. John Knox destroyed any decoration found in the Churches and Abbeys of Scotland ending in the dourness of the Scottish kirks, and the Tudors did it in England with Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries and by the terror shown to those who partook of the Pilgrimage of Grace and the hanging of thousands, including monks from the rafters of their cloisters, etc. It carried through to great effect during the French Revolution and again to Spain during the early Muslim conquests and again during the Spanish Civil War. Mexico saw similar purges during the turn of the last century. The English, especially have reaped what they have sown; look at the state of the Anglican Church. The Great Apostasy is upon us, but, as Christ says, we will prevail. Despite the Alex’s of this world, and the Hitchens and Dawkins and Bonos etc.

  32. At least the “religious nuts” in Israel don’t promote violence. There is no good reason for them to start a war, religious or otherwise. They just want to be left alone, but are prepared to defend themselves if need be. Not so the Mohammedians.
    Think a little deeper, John.

  33. “For years now large groups of kneeling Muslim men in France have been gathering en masse to pray in the streets…”
My bad! When I was touring France last summer I thought those were speed bumps so I slowed to 30 kph. This explains the rabid rabble chasing my Renault.

  34. No word yet on whether Jews and Catholics will be granted permission to pray in mosques during off-peak hours.”
actually there is eb, besides you miss your OWN point. the muslims are using VACANT carissssstian buildings. carissssstians are losing interest in the ‘faith’ by the trainload.
I wish I could post pics at SDA, I would u/l a bunch showing carisssstian (anglican in this case) chuches SOLD and converted into condos for instance.
    heh heh heh !!!
p.s. ‘chuch’ is the new spelling, meant to convey contempt for the most self righteous arrogant religion on the friggin’ planet.
the good news is Sunday shopping is now firmly established on the landscape. isn’t that right pat robertson ?!?!!

  35. I’m confused, beagle. Are you trying to spell “Cardassians”?
Why am I talking to trolls like beagle and Alex? They have nothing important to say.
    Won’t happen again.

  36. Just turn on the fire hoses and wash them off the streets.

BINGO. But the State should proclaim that it’s part of its contribution to islamic wudu. Heh, the State could make whoopy making wudu. But alas! I’m probably stuck in an earlier more robust age when such obvious common sense solutions were doable.
john s: Yeah, I know, as an atheist (deist?) myself I have that feeling sometimes. But then: (a) I consider the wonderful contributions made here by our long-time Christian visitors and (b) I remember that man NEEDS religion. Absent a spiritual religion there’s secular religion like Marxism which, according to the Black Book of Communistm (written by reformed euro-commie scholars) killed at least 100 million in the 20th century.
And let’s not forget the religion of enviroMENTALism which has the potential to rival 20th century Marxism.

  37. Organized churches (Catholic, Church of England, United,) are decreasing in attendance, but evangelical church growth is growing exponentially, actually. Single congregations is South America, South Korea, Africa are all homes to church congregations of over 100,000 in each gathering. We don’t need God here in the West, we are self-made and self-reliant. Got a need, go buy the solution.
Those who have a close personal relationship with God are growing and gathering, leaving behind the liturgical, repetitive, the-priest-is-the-only-one-who-hears-God forms of the Church as they are not meeting the needs of modern day trials and troubles. People want answers to today’s big questions and when God speaks to them personally, touching them at their need, their faith suddenly comes alive and gather together to share their experiences.
When Alex, beagle, Abe and other atheists hit the rocks, they will cry out, then this will all make sense. Until then, life has a way of allowing them to keep their heads in the sand, blissful and blind.

  38. Ahh…luck of the Irish, a post for St. Patrick’s Day!!
Charles Martel and St Boniface it was all for naught…meanwhile back at the Battle for Tours!
St. Joan of Arc spins in her grave…at the thought that massive Muslim conversions result in the filling of French cathedrals!!
    Mon Dieu!!
The ever resourceful Muslims come begging Catholics because their God is broke and can’t afford to build a mosque. Are they saying that perhaps Allah is not so great?
    C’est domage…
“Prayer for the Faithful by St. Patrick”
May the Strength of God guide us.
May the Power of God preserve us.
May the Wisdom of God instruct us.
May the Hand of God protect us.
May the Way of God direct us.
May the Shield of God defend us.
May the Angels of God guard us.
    – Against the snares of the evil one.
    May Christ be with us!
    May Christ be before us!
    May Christ be in us,
    Christ be over all!
    May Thy Grace, Lord,
    Always be ours,
This day, O Lord, and forevermore. Amen
I’m sure God will graciously accept their conversion on St. Patrick’s Day.
Luck of the Irish in French Cathedrals, well may Saints Preserve Us…I think I need to raise a pint or two today!!

  39. “Organized churches (Catholic, Church of England, United,) are decreasing in attendance, but evangelical church growth is growing exponentially”
Naw, it’s not that bad. They are growing, sure, which is kinda sad – I’d rather see people pick the slightly less crazy denominations – but it’s hardly exponential, and it’s limited to the US and a few other nations. Not a big concern. Actually, the largest growing group is the “nones”.

  40. You know nothing about god, glacierman.
You misunderstand the message as divine, where it’s scientific. Divine message is several levels above human understanding capacity.
And one more thing: what you consider god is dead. It’s been undone for being evil itself. You are worshiping dead monster.
