  1. I don’t know how you guys can immediately jump onto the fact that because Marx was on the favorite books that he’s a leftie. Isn’t the whole notion of a currency backed by silver or gold currently being championed by the right wing cranks? The reading list seems fairly varied to me and isn’t really indicative of anything. It’s like seeing “The republic” on there and saying that it’s all Plato’s fault. Though it probably is 😀

    Rob, Fatah has been on Dave Rutherford’s talk show several times and he has explicitly denounced and I forget the exact wording at the time but something like “violent jihad”. You can never parse their words too closely though. I became quite skeptical of him after that because I don’t know if he is “moderate” in the sense that he wants to advance Sharia slowly and lawfully. Kind of like a fabian socialist.

But over the past two years these people have been constantly repeating the same message of how this government is “radical, and evil” and they specifically targeted and threatened dozens of Democratic congressmen/congresswomen over the past two years. Eventually that is going to drive the least mentelly stable among them to violence. There, is that a more reasonable and sincere discussion for you?

  19. Speculating on the cause of a broken window on a door in abscence of the cause or perpetrator to score polical points was a cheap shot by Giffords at the time.
    The fact that she was shot today would have nothing to do with the broken door glass if Leftists hadn’t brought it up in the first place as an example of political violence against her.
    Was the broken door glass ever proven to be an example of politcal violence against her?

  20. All right, this guy was crazy, and to be honest, he was probably going to kill someone at sometime for an equally crazy reason. But because of the Tea Party he was convinced that the government was going to take away all freedom and that the only solution is violence and domestic terrorism as an act of armed rebellion. Oh and about that post by Olde Spice, the Tea Party is not a movement of various political ideologies, it is conservative-minded political tool, and a pawn of multinational corporations to weaken government power so that they can dominate the American working class.

    I can’t help but think that if this happened to Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck there would be progressives dancing in the streets with euphoria. No prayers for the families or condolences extended. You guys just don’t have it in you.

Even though her individual case was never resolved, other Democratic congressman caught the conservative extremists that sent them death threats or vandalized there offices. Why would her case in particular be any different?

But it sure has become apparent to me that this is just a right wing blog. And hey, instead of guessing how old I am, maybe we could just discuss the issue here. The only reason I started posting stuff on this site is because I saw a few people saying that Laughner was a liberal, and that somehow Paul Krugman was an extremist to be equated with Limbaugh, Hannity, or Beck.

Getting reliable information from a blog is like a throw of the dice, not very reliable at all. I usually stick to newspapers, and television. (I live in SC, so don’t think I have any major liberal influence in the newspapers.)
