Not sure where these readers have been, since the same national news service has been caught more than once publishing doctored and fake photos along with false reporting.

I went to the Global website to watch the news broadcast from July 10th and it is noticeably GONE!

don’t these people, wherever they are in the organization, *realize* that in the age of instant global access to information, they are going to get CAUGHT?
I do not have satellite feed, cable, and have not subscribed to a regular newspaper in approximately 7 years.
It should be a criminal offense to fabricate news stories with doctored video or photos, in this case someone’s head should roll for doing such a despicable job and Slime Stream Media wonders why we are abandoning them enmasse.
Don’t these people realise that someone is going to figure out what they are up to?

Speaking of Reuters, or more correctly (David) Thomson(of Toronto)-Reuters, if memory serves, there is also a newspaper and a Canadian TV network meshed in as well. The similar Olympic street riot footage was probably grabbed in haste and error instead of the Toronto video file by some unfortunate clueless Global intern/slave and pushed down the line by the usual disinterested “checkers”.

Global’s cynicism about the business of news borders on contempt for the viewers. Fortunately for them (and the CBC) the media doesn’t actually cover the media, so only blog visitors are going to know about this kind of faked coverage.
