From Hot Air, this ballsy, in your face move.
“Our plan is to deliver much-needed humanitarian assistance to the Kurds of Turkey, who by the way outnumber Israelis and Palestinians combined,” he said.
(…)
Another sea-bound venture is being organized in an effort to draw attention to Turkey’s own controversial policies – this time to Cyprus, to “call for an end to the Turkish occupation” of the island’s northern half – and is being organized by Meretz activist Pinchas Har-Zahav, and his son Haim, who has also signed on for the voyage.
Heh.

Hey guys, I have a video from a Hebrew web site showing them opening the “humanitarian cargo” on one of the ships. It’s mortars, rockets, and more. I’ll post the actual link when I get home tonight.
Very cool.
“Money, logistical support and balls – and we’ve got the last two things covered”.
Someone tell them to set up a PayPal account.
I bet they’re flooded in a week.
“Hebrew web site showing them opening the “humanitarian cargo” on one of the ships. It’s mortars, rockets, and more.”
Some sites are saying that is old video from a 2009 inspection.
oops, forgot link,

RACISM!!!! Hatey hating haters! No fair copying us!
Two can play this game.
This one is worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize.
Haha, good story Lance, right on!
Well, PM Erdogan was at his unctuous best by saying he was going to speak to Israeli’s in their own language quoting the old tetsament, “thou shalt not kill”
I guess he should have read the new testament, “Let he who is without sin through the first stone”
I like the Kurdish one in particular. SHould drive them crazy, although generally I like the Turks, though the secular ones seem to be losing ground to the rural religous ones for the moment.
Oh you haters – Israel is such a meanie country… giving aid to oppressed Kurds when they should be collecting them for the poutine that is so needed by the poor Gazans suffering under nazi jews
A stroke of – ballsy – genius.
If they really try to do it the Turks will slaughter them on the water. Any survivors will be brutally tortured and rot in Turkish hellhole prisons for years.
Perfect; calling their hypocritical bluff and showing how their ‘flotilla’ is actually a political rather than ‘humanitarian’ action.
I hope the Turks give them the same treatment the israeli murderers gave the peace activists… only better.
PS you are all stoopid bigots
“…and rot in Turkish hellhole prisons for years.”
Midnight Express II ?
To be fair, while I am sympathetic to the plight of Kurds (whose condition has actually been bettered by Turkey’s mildly Islamist pro-business government), Turkey’s occupation of Northern Cyprus is totally reasonable. The people there were subject to great oppression and ethnic cleansing prior to their liberation by the Turkish army.
Cytowhatsit, and here’s me thinking Lefties have no sense of humor. “liberation by the Turkish army” that’s a knee slapper!
Heh… Northern Cyprus getting liberated by the Turkish Army will probably leave the same impression on the locals as when the Ukraine was liberated by the Wehrmacht – it looked like a good idea at first, but that didn’t last very long. I suggest you talk to the troops of the former 1 Commando, Canadian Airborne Regiment, who were there when the Turks invaded back before Disco caught on… The quicker Turkey is spat out of NATO the better. The only reason it is in NATO is because it formed a “barrier” on the southern flank of the late and unlamented (at least by non-leftie humanoids) USSR. Those days are long gone.
The Turks invaded the northern half of Cyprus because the Greeks were slaughtering some of the Turkish civilians. I served in Cyprus and been to some of the towns where this happened.
“””The Turks invaded the northern half of Cyprus because the Greeks were slaughtering some of the Turkish civilians.””””
the turks would do better in taking care of their own sins, like quit slaughtering kurd, and make amends for the genocide (at least a million) they bestowed on the Armenians
What a fantastic idea! Genius!
Shawn, unless you were there in 1974, all you’ve heard is propaganda – from both sides, admittedly – I’ve served with Airborne guys who were fighting the Turks back then and came back with the wounds to prove that our “allies” were just another third-world *&%$# country bent on irrational regional domination… and no, the Cypriot Greeks were no more reliable in re-telling the “stories”…. Cyprus is a case of a pox on both your houses, as the EU is finding out at its very high expense when it comes to the Greeks. At least the Euro-trash were smart enough to keep the Turks out. Now to expel them from NATO…..
okay, need someone to translate this, find out what it is:

Can we get Free Kurdistan t-shirts, and scarves?
Maybe they should contact former PM Paul Martin, and ask if they can borrow a ship from Canada Steamship Lines.
http://www.csl.ca/
A good Canadian flagged ship like the “Bahama Spirit.”
(sarcasm off)
Remember, we lefties control the majority of the media that less and less people read or watch…So the little coverage you are going to get is either going to be negative or somethin, but like, very few will see it.
Tee Hee!
By all means. This neocon thinks they could learn something.
// My latest column for CNN.com looks at the conflict on Cyprus between Greek and Turkish Cypriots and argues that the island may provide a model for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict without a formal peace treaty.
[D]espite lingering angry feelings between Greeks and Turks — peace has in fact settled upon Cyprus.
There has been no major violence on the island since the mid-1970s. The economy on both sides of the line has grown handsomely in recent years. Barriers between the two sides — including physical barriers — have begun to open. […] //
But I undertand he is no longer considered one of you.
Tizzy: “But I undertand he is no longer considered one of you.”

Oh my. Another mindless dribble from a leftard. Who cares? I, for one, have never, since day one, paid any attention to David Frum. He’s just a fat boy riding on his famous mother’s coat-tails. I did, however, rather admire his mother (God rest her soul).
Jeez Louise. As a confession of pious ignorance, this remark could hardly be bettered.
Hundreds of people love or hate David for every one who has heard of Barbara. [You CBC listener, you]
Right ON!!! While we’re at it, I think something needs to be done about the Islamists’ 31-year occupation of the once-beautiful country of Iran. Just ask a whole bunch of my neighbors. Especially the Baha’i ones who lost several members of their family trying to flee.
Also the brutal Communist occupation of North Korea – unconscionable!!!
“it is immoral for Israel to continue this historically long occupation” pipes up the Turks.
Except for that whole ottoman empire thing, the oppression of the Kurds, the genocide against the arminians, invasion of Cyprus, allying with hitler…
