A Virginia NASCAR fan’s vanity license plate was recalled by the state’s DMV after “motorists and Muslims groups complained that his Virginia vanity license plate…was really code for neo-Nazi, white supremacist sentiments.”
Douglas Story says his plate, 14CV88, was “an homage to the car numbers of his favourite NASCAR drivers: Tony Stewart, who drives car No. 14, and Dale Earnhardt Jr., who drives No. 88,” and that CV is common shorthand for “Sons of Confederate Veterans.”
Not so, according to Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) spokesman Ibrahim Hooper, who said “his group looked into the meaning of the numbers 14 and 88 after receiving complaints about Story’s license plates. He said the group found that among neo-Nazis, 88 refers to ‘Heil Hitler,’ because H is the eighth letter of the alphabet.”
Okay. So what about the 14?

White supremacists sometimes use the number 14, Hooper said, as shorthand for the 14-word motto, ‘We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.’

Story, who had a large anti-Islam sticker on the back of his Ford F-150 until he removed it, says “There is absolutely no way I’d have anything to do with Hitler or Nazis….My sister-in-law and my niece are Jewish. I went to my niece’s bat mitzvah when she turned thirteen three years ago…”

  1. Yikes. The Chinese are going crazy with the 88 on the plates in Vancouver … seen one yesterday that said Heil Hitler Heil Hitler and a couple of letters. Lot of them like Heil Hitler on their house numbers also.

    It was ‘1FASTMF’
    ‘One Fast Massey Ferguson’
    Why nobody believed him is beyond me but then, I don’t live in the big ciddy.

  6. Sorry to hear that he was intimidated into changing his plates and removing the mural. It’s getting worse every day. It was hard tto hear the Tea Party being portrayed as a dangerous bigoted militia group again today on the msm news, and as your previous post states – Obama called out the Swat Team in Quincy against them.-to make a statement to be sure – it was a warning in my view.

  10. Let’s, for the sake of argument, say he is “racist.” Well then his only problem is that he is racist against the wrong race. If, as is seen commonly here in Vermont, he had a vanity plate that attacked “rednecks”, an identifiable racial group, he would be a hero. I once talked to a person at a party who had never heard the idea before that the terms “redneck”, and “white trash” were racist. There is a car around here with the bumper stickers “Coexist”, you know the one, and “shh I hear banjos” along with some anti Palin stuff.
    The real problem is that the hacks at the DMV count on Dems to raise their pay, and so any ally of the Dems is an ally of the DMV employees.

  13. About 15 years ago there was a big stink about Snapple. Word on “the street” was that it was owned by the Klan so a large part of the black population was boycotting it. Their proof was the K in a circle on the label. Of course any reasonably intelligent person would have done some research and would have discovered the K was for Kosher.

  14. I suppose the DMV didn’t want to be seen promoting racism, so their hands were tied on the licence plate thing. The people that reported him need to rethink. Personally, If someone has something against me and is willing to put it on their tailgate, I say let them. Know thy enemy.
    All he has left is to wear his white hood while driving around handing out David Duke pamphlets promoting the next book signing, I feel for the guy (note sarcasm)

  31. Why doesn’t the government post what numbers are banned and racist for white people, so that they know?
    Every non-white immigrant group with the Canadian government should compile a specific list of what you can say and what you can do for each specific race and culture that is living in Canada. This would be very progressive, and should help the white Canadians not break any laws or hurt any feelings.
    The Chinese consider the number 88 lucky. We need to make it clear to all white Canadians that you must completely convert to Taoism or Buddhism before you can refer to it, by way of law. Interracial marriage will allow for some exceptions, providing you have signed approval from the majority of the non Caucasian extended family and subsequent court ruling.

That is the same reason why Canadian muslims are enamored of the NDP, unions and university professors in the “soft knowledge” disciplines. If you are looking for a good Jew bashing, hang out with (most) muslims, the NDP, unions and professors such as the Regina 16. Don’t get me wrong; there are good Muslims and the good Muslims(pbut)are a more principled and courageous than I because they get beat up or even killed by “the other” muslims who unfortunately seem to be the in the majority.

  35. If you really want a laugh just look up the examples of vanity license plates that are banned. most of them need a cryptologist to translate. bottom line is “victims” see what they want to see in whatever they want.
    Just how many numbers and letters are banned by the PC police anyhow. btw, I’m a fan of “Smoke” Stewart so does using Old Spice make me a racist? Who would have thought Eric Lindros was a klansman.

    You’re not suppose to know ahead of time what is NOT okay to say. Furthermore, it’s not necessarily important what you have said, but how what you’ve said has been perceived, or may be perceived by someone. What is even more interesting, is that the person being victimized doesn’t even need to know they’ve been victimized, so long as there is a white liberal present to be victimized by proxy.
    The bottom line Knight99, is that it’s not what you say or do that is the problem, it’s who you are(and me) that’s the problem.
