  1. Which is it Linda? Is global warming supposed to cool the planet or warm it? Oh. These warmies are just going to cover all the bases and say it’s responsible for ALL extreme weather. Silly me.

  2. Who is paying for his trip. No way should the taxpayers fund a fringe party to attend a conference of which they have no say.

  3. I propose the term “New Denier”.
The New Denier Party represents those who refuse to acknowledge that Climategate changed everything in the global warming debate. Peer review and scientific consensus were the first two lines of defense against allegations from skeptics. Now they have been convincingly shattered, from within.
“Climate change” has become shorthand for some sort of existential angst about living in a developed society. Those who suffer from it should not consider themselves fit for public office, as their preferred medication seems to be large doses of someone else’s money.

  4. Sorry Linda, but the NDP are entrenched in edmonton Strathcona. It is the heart of the left in Redmonton.

  5. She’s just another lefty twit that wears comfortable shoes. The left just doesn’t realize how stupid they look and sound, oh wait, that’s being ‘progressive’!

  6. “She’s just another lefty twit that wears comfortable shoes. The left just doesn’t realize how stupid they look and sound, oh wait, that’s being ‘progressive’!”
correct . . . . but these twits think they have a right to OUR money, the results of our work, our efforts.
They won’t stop being moonbats until they get all of what we own.

  7. Twit of the day? With this fantastigorical statement she has all but wrapped up TWIT of the year!

  8. Halfwise wrote at 8:47:”Climate change” has become shorthand for some sort of existential angst about living in a developed society.” For me, this sums the whole thing up PERFECTLY. Thanks for that statement it is perfectly worded in light of what is happening all around us.

  9. Heads I win, tails you lose. Gotta love what they’ve done with this.
Here’s a thought experiment… what if “climate change” was best addressed by smaller government and lower taxes. Would there be as much concern about it from the likes of Linda Duncan then?

  10. I’ve always thought the movement made a mistake when they chose ‘climate change’ over ‘global warming’. What they should have called it is anthropogenic climate disruption catastrophism — the fear that we’ve screwed up the climate so badly through atmospheric emissions that all weather is going to become disaster-level events.
Unfortunately the acronym for this is ACDC, so the lawsuits, oy.

  11. Has global warming now gone the way of the Dodo bird? Now they say it is climate change -so is it global warming or global cooling – what do we get ready for?

  12. Yeah that Halfwise is totally wise…..
It is crucial that for a time cool weather was “weather” but mild weather was “Global warming”….hence the adoption of the term “Climate Change” to avoid the need for the earlier subtrafuge.
Despite the obvious simple observations and records these loons continue to trot out “studies” indicating that for example 2005 was warming than 1998 and that 2009 is/was warmer than 2005.
These criminals will look you right in the eye and lie.
Like the professor claiming that dry slough as an “unprecedented” sign of climate change despite the all too prescence of the old barbed wire fence right across it.
They need a few silly slaps with a 2X4…….

  13. Uhhhh so record cold is proof of global warming? This woman is as mad as a shitehouse rat – quickly sign the commitment papers, get her institutionalized and get a by-election underway for a sane MP.

  14. Her head is going to explode from cognitive dissonance.
If any climate change is going on in Canada its a headlong rush into another ice age.

  15. “Will the record deepfreeze across the prairies finally silence the last of the climate change deniers?”
George Orwell would certainly recognize that use of language!

  16. I had the distinct embarassment and shame to live in her riding when she got elected. They got what they deserved in that neighbourhood.

  17. Please tell me this is some kind of a joke. You know, the ones where people can cut and paste pictures together and combine them with absolutely ludicrous statements?
Edmonton was the coldest place on the PLANET sunday night smashing the old record by 10 degrees. This is supposed to indicate that the world is inexorably warming and we will all be under water a la an extremely bad Kevin Costner movie.
I have always kind of categorized the left into two columns: horrendously evil or just horrendously stupid. I know where this woman belongs.

  18. So what’s the big deal? So it’s minus 30 whatever on the prairies. It’s not like we haven’t seen it before … long before “climate change” became fashionable.
Ms. Duncan is an idiot and an embarrassment to her constituents. However, to be fair, if she wasn’t an MP with her snout deeply buried in the public trough, what else could she possible do to earn a living? At least by electing her, her constituents have reduced the welfare role by one.

  19. It’s nice to see that she gets her hair done in the same socialist salon as the others in her party (including many of the men) and wears those lovely multi-cultural prints. I guess I shouldn’t get too personal here, it could be a matter of brain-freeze.

  20. Well she doesn’t get my vote. I have always said that the first politician that comes out publically and states that global warming/climate change is based on false data (therefore a lie) would get my vote.
The way the Environmental Minister uses words like “carbon” and “deal” and “negotiations” makes me think the Cons will cave in and follow the USA in Cap & Trade tax (the CAT tax – you heard it here first) and probably say carbon is a dangerous gas. The Cons should say we will have a made in Canada policy to fight pollution and not one penny be sent to other countries – whose coast will be destroyed by meters of water.
The Cons use the same vocabulary as the Warmers, and APPEARS to agree with them. They should be consulting with Australia on this matter rather than the States. (They are #57 and we are #59 on the countries that do not agree with the need to fight Climate Change.
I just hope a Conservative be the first to deny the Global Warming myth – I would have to swallow hard, hold my breath, close my eyes and vote LIEberal or Green. (I would run as an independent, but I do not have access to thousands of dollars.)

  21. On her website, under “news” dated Nov. 24 she equates climate change with being too hot. She cannot make up her mind.

  22. I’m just not convinced that if we apply Cap,n Trade and sign the treaty in Copenhagen that the climate will stop changing.

  23. The predictions of another ice age, of the 1980s are coming true. With that record of accuracy, it will be 2030 before any warming occurs.

  25. Does anyone remember whatever happened to her private members bill to establish a national holiday in February called ‘Hockey Day’?
She’s one of the last of the old hippies, though there are a few more like her in Garneau and Windsor Park, living in million dollar homes and feeling guilty.

  26. If increasing CO2 concentrations, and CO2 is continuing to increase, are supposed to be forcing the Globe to warm, how can CO2 be responsible for cooling when it continues to increase.
These Cooling Deniers have hitched their wagon to CO2 and we have to freeze their hot little hands to the fact that the link between continued CO2 increase and continued warming has been proven false.
The Copenhagen Conference is all about using CO2 as a wealth transfer vehicle because CO2 is supposed to force warming.

  27. Leave her be, I suspect she’s going through menopause and suffers from hot flashes-poor febble thang.

  28. Edmonton Strathcona should go conservative in the next election. The dippers have shot their bolt They are not ever going to get any more votes than they already have and they only won marginally there because they made a major effort to get out their votes, while Rahim was over-confident and slack. The west end of Edmonton Strathcona is populated by knee-jerk Marxist-Leninist-Maoist crazies (the kind who mob the Strathcona Farmers Market on Saturdays), tenured U of A faculty who are leftovers from the ’60s hippies and draft dodgers and their brainwashed disciples in the humanities depatments, who tend to vote in the riding rather than in their home ridings. The east end of the riding is populated by normal working people who didn’t bother to vote in the last election. A vigorous conservative candidate who is hungry to win should be able to get out enough of that vote to overcome Duncan’s meagre lead. I definitely plan to work for the conservative candidate in the next election to get out the vote and restore Edmonton Strathcona’s respectability and I urge any others reading this to do likewise. It’s doable, people!

Prince Charles warns climate change will drive starvation and terrorism
The world has only seven years before climate change causes a “point of crisis” that will drive food shortages, terrorism and poverty, the Prince of Wales has warned.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the ministerial segment of the Copenhagen climate conference, the Prince said the “survival of the species” was in peril.”

  30. Maybe she’s got a point, some deniers might figure their work was done with that counter-example.
