Every time he opens his mealy mouth he contradicts something he said a few months, weeks, or even hours ago. It’s just a fricken discussion in the faculty lounge, why should he be required to have principles or consistency?

  23. Is he implying that yellow quill is inuit? I thought he was talking about two different people, but then he describes the night as “subarctic darkness”. All well and good, but yellow quill is closer to the latitude of Toronto than it is to the arctic.
    What an isolated idiot. I am sure that, as he wrote this, he imagined the plight of the father trying to get help for his girls. He probably cannot understand the outrage of we heathens when we condemn the father. The father was a native and we must be racist to condemnn him. Never mind that the two girls were native and we were all sick when we heard the story originally.

Ignatieff dont even Know how many Times zones their are in Canada!(as stated in his book). this was noted in a Article this year in the National Post, if this mistake were to be made by a Conservative the MSM would have a field day. No the more i see of this guy the More i agree with the Conservative ads “Just Visiting” He is only in it for himself under the pretence he is in it for Canada.

    The sad reality is he wants to be hoisted into the PM’s seat,the carrot he was enticed with to return to his long abandoned country.
    He willingly accepted the bumping out of Jean Augustine, first Black woman to sit as an MP in the Federal House to allow himself a “safe seat”. He now has the colossal gall to now say he is committed to having 1/3 of ridings being contested by women.
    It may be an opportunity for the master of the first person pronoun but it would be a disaster for Canada. He proves it every time he’s out winging it.

  32. Upon further consideration, this is an amazingly stupid thing for Iggster to be doing.
    This case is extremely well know, the facts of it are really not open to interpretation. Even Pauchay didn’t contest the thing strongly, he just said he was sorry a whole bunch. Bottom line, everybody knows what went on, and nobody has much use for the perp. A large percentage of the population views his sentence as a travesty of justice. Me included.
    So how does Iggy’s crack spin team think its safe to re-package Pauchay as a victim of White racism? Did Cat-Man sign off on this? Truth, I don’t have much respect for Cat-Man, but I find it a stretch to imagine him thinking this is a good idea.
    How dumb are these people? Does the Iggster -believe- this stuff? That’s a truly frightening thought, ain’t it?

WTF over.
    Oh yea, “i before e except after c” is not verbotten in the UK.

  38. Ignatieff is right: this is a story about us. Why on earth would anyone allow TWO separate and very unequal sets of law for Canadians? Why would anyone forgive a grown man who was unwilling to address his vice which led to the deaths of his two children? Why would anyone allow “the race card” to be played in order to escape responsibility? And why the hell would anyone let an American dilettante be prime minister of a country he doesn’t even like (insert own Obama reference here).
    The fact that Ignatieff could print the crap he did was because someone came up with sentencing circles which are an offshoot of some “white man’s guilt” and all the nonsense that entails.
    Pauchay should be in prison for the rest of his life and Ignatieff should have his passport updated as the Americans are very particular about entering the country without one.
    (I am speaking in general, not about this board so please don’t scream at me)

  40. Ignatieff does as most, if not all, socialist, communists and other assorted ‘ists intellectuals do, they proclaim.
    If, later, they proclaim something else that contradicts the previous proclamation, to them it simply means that the first proclamation was cancelled.
    They also know, as anybody can possibly know, that those others that are not like them simply are without doubt ill equipped to understand the intricate details of their proclamations. That would make it ok to contradict or deliberately say something untrue.
    To ignore what actually happened in that case is as though breeze blew away the difficult parts. You can’t have a good story if you don’t edit it to please the warm and fuzzy. Reality sucks, can’t have that.

    Agreed. Iggy’s assessment in the opening of his book goes beyond the usual pathological Liberal distortion of the truth. It is a sick, quite beyond the pale, attempt to establish his progressive bona fides on the backs of two dead toddlers (may God bless their souls).
    This story is a little old now, but it makes my stomach turn every time I see it. I’m equally disgusted at the complete pass the SRM (state-run media) gives Iggy. Of course, most of the apparatchiks of the SRM no doubt share Iggy’s point of view.
