Is there nothing that Obama can’t do?
In just 3 months Americans bought enough guns to outfit the entire Chinese and Indian army’s combined.
You also bought 1,529,635,000 rounds of ammunition in just the month of December 2008. Yeah that is right, that is Billion with a “B”. This number takes no accounting of reloading or reloaded ammunition.
Heh.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Not that I really care but that’s twice in as many days I post about it first and you give credit to someone else for it. To bad.
As Canadians, we should be paying attention, they now have ACORN going around GPS marking citizen’s homes, I doubt they are stocking up for hunting season, they are justifiably afraid of their own government.
You don’t have to dig deep to see what the white house is up to.
Flags should be going up in Canada, but most people I’ve talked with up here don’t even know they had tea party protests on APR 15th, and that more are scheduled for 4 JUL.

Someone has to keep the government in check 🙂
The people shouldn’t fear it’s government, but the government fear it’s people.
Joel, they DO fear the people. Hence the DHS report on “Right Wing Extremists”
Makes you pause….
That must be why there is a shortage of ammo and reloading components in Canada, as we no longer have our own industry.
Even Cabela’s Canada is out of nearly every type of bullet, normally in stock.
FREE (and others) – I spent 10 of the last 24 waking hours on the road, another four 20 feet off the ground on scaffolds. At the best of times I don’t read all the tips that come in. and at the worst, you’re going to be one of 10 people who send me the same item….
“You should not examine legislation in the light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in the light of the wrongs it would do and the harm it would cause if improperly administered.” Purportedly said by Lyndon Johnson, 36th President of the U.S.
The long gun registry comes to mind, speaking of billions wasn’t it 2 BILLION that got popped off on the taxpayers dime?
But why register when you aren’t an owner, but rather the MANUFACTURER of your own rifle? I think I made my own 0.45 calibre when I was 17-18 years old in high school.

With a basis in §31 of the Weapons Law of 18 March 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p.265), Article III of the Law on the Reunification of Austria with Germany of 13 March 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 237), and §9 of the Führer and Chancellor’s decree on the administration of the Sudeten-German districts of 1 October 1938 (Reichsgesetzblatt I, p 1331) are the following ordered:
§1
Jews (§5 of the First Regulations of the German Citizenship Law of 14 November 1935, Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 1333) are prohibited from acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as truncheons or stabbing weapons. §6
This regulation is valid in the state of Austria and in the Sudeten-German districts.

Hans Rupprecht, you may know this already, but it bears noting that the 1968 gun control act in the US was lifted virtually verbatim from the Nazi statute.
I kid you not, Lefties. The author of the federal Gun Control Act, Senator Thomas Dodd, and he f-ing copied it from Hitler, word for word. Google it up, heroes, that’s one of your boys in action there.
Sounds like a good idea. Praise the lord and pass the ammunition.
I’m just glad here in Canada we register our guns, so we’re not so inclined to do anything bad with them, and also make the good people of this country safer.

For the first time during the new administration, I’m really proud of my country.

Ya, seems a lot of Americans haven’t drank the kool-aid yet and have their eyes wide open to the threat, as evident by the consumer trend.
Before I go off to do something useful here, I should also mention something I’ve thought about quite a bit.
Many times I read the comments of scoffers who claim mere civilians with small arms can’t fight a modern army and win, and so the US Second Amendment is pointless and stupid.
Yet the Taliban seems to be doing pretty good in Afghanistan, don’t they?
Smart people know when there is risk of losing freedom and property just ahead.
Those would be the smart people on the right.
Fortunately, the idiots on the left have a pathological fear of firearms and so will not be a threat other than through their voting for a repressive administration such as the Obama and his pantry of evil clowns.
I’m just glad here in Canada we register our guns, so we’re not so inclined to do anything bad with them, and also make the good people of this country safer.\SARC ON
Okay Rick, please explain to me how a national gun registry makes good people safer? Provide proof if you will.
Also, please explain to me why the federal government is involved in the registration of private property? Surely you’ll agree the feds have overstepped their constitutional jurisdiction in this regard.
Rick is demonstrating the typical selfloathing attitude of a leftard. Rick’s belief that humans are so evil we people like Rick to protect us from ourselves; “so we’re not so inclined to do anything bad with them”.
whoa whoa, Indian Homez:
I’m no leftard, I’m a gun owner, I was making fun of the registry, sorry if my sarcasm was lost on you or maybe I didn’t do it right.
If I had my way I’d pass laws dictating that every Canadian would not only own guns, but have to have at least one on them in their travels, I’d like to study the affect on crime rates it would have.
For future reference, please ask me to clarify a point before making personal attacks, thanks in advance.
oh, I meant Indiana Homez, I should start using the preview button
“Many times I read the comments of scoffers who claim mere civilians with small arms can’t fight a modern army and win, and so the US Second Amendment is pointless and stupid.”
In a civil war the military will be the entity that overthrows the government. The left may have some people in important positions at the top, but that authority will evaporate instantly if push comes to shove. The military is overwhelmingly conservative on all level and issues, most importantly the troops. If I am wrong; so what? China boasts an army of 1 million and it makes people crap themselves; well, I’m happy to say that America boasts 50million gun owners. I know where I’ll put my money.
The police are a different matter completely. A noble job it may be, but as a whole they are just another unionized bunch dependant on the public teat. The police have shown their cards, one must just look at their behavior recently at any number of protests in either country.
As a white male conservative, the police are the VERY LAST place I will ever look for protection. It is their mandate to make me a criminal.
“f tha Police” – Ice Cube
I never thought I’d be a stockpilin’ kind of guy, but in my last few trips to the “hunting” store, they’ve been sold out of 40s&w. So when they finally did get some stock, I bought a case (1000 rounds) as did apparently everyone else, as they are out of stock again.
Obama is the gun and ammo salesman of the year!!
There’s a down side to this in that ammo prices have gone way up. Was at a gun show last weekend and .223 was double what I paid for it last year and I’m glad that I stocked up then.
best person to look after your security is yourself. Unfortunately, with the gun registry in place I’m sure one day soon they’ll say in the name of national security, we need to confiscate all the guns.
The 50 million gun owners in the states, could be a trick situation, but even then the age old expression applies.. “United we stand, divided we fall”
This is VERY *VERY* good news.
“I’m just glad here in Canada we register our guns, so we’re not so inclined to do anything bad with them, and also make the good people of this country safer.

Yeah Rick, your sarcasm was right over my head considering you said you weren’t being sarcastic/sarc on
Lefty or righty I don’t usually intend to upset those that I direct my rath towards. Generally I mean it as a bit of smack; just for fun.
I am guilty of losing my cool a few time though, a few times responding to new, and free needles to druggies really pisses me off.

Phantom, I don’t know if that is a fair assessment of the situation..here the norm is the vast percentage of guns owned by the population are long guns of the hunting variety. The exceptions are the smaller amounts of semi-military firearms (vintage and other..) and the even smaller amount of legal full auto, which has to be numbered now under 5000.
In Afghanistan, the vast majority of the people with a firearm (to include the Taliban) have sub guns and semi and fully automatic rifles. It is a rare thing to see a hunting type rifle. The two most common bolt action rifles to be seen are the Lee-Enfield and the Mauser G and K98.They also have access to thousands of larger crew served weapons to include anti-aircraft, mortar and anti tank weapons.
Of course, if the citizens here had that type of weaponry, the govt would never cross them, that’s for sure! The Taliban’s success is due more to them being non uniformed and ruthless when it comes to enacting their ‘ideas’ on the citizenry.
They cannot defeat NATO through force of arms alone, and must rely on shock tactics.Their main methods of successful attack usually involve killing themselves in the process. If a uniformed army with a finite amount of troops undertook such a campaign, you could chart their defeat on a graph.
You can consider this a real Bullet poll on Obama’s popularity. This is the kind of poll you can’t fiddle with. Its based on goods bought, not talk.
Its like most Albertans gave the registration busybodies old guns, while hiding their real ones.
Notice Harper has not abolished this white elephant either.
Guess his expectation of Canadians is as much as the American Federalizes. Frankly they should be a terrified. They haven’t done anything the people want. With all they don’t. The whole Planet is heading towards the abyss of lawlessness. There is a divide between the governed & those who dictate not following any moral code or the Constitution. Justice has been perverted for the Elite while normal folks are left with neo-Marxist inquisitions. Criminals are considered sick, not evil. Our politicians now live like potentates, while the average family struggles on less & less to feed the lusts of these vipers. Life has become so cheap even child killers get little time. Education is lower than in the 19 century if reading is any indication of decay . More Males drop out every year. Mothers killing babies is now normal. All the while a foreign cabal is trying to take over to replace our entire history of liberty to an alien Law of barbarism, while these same politicians persecute the Watchers & not the perpetrators. Canada is not for Canadians anymore. Our Leaders have made us a tromping grounds for every foul human practice on Earth, & support them by punishing any dissent to this chaos by star chambers or Innuendo. Mean while the Great Minds in Academia think happy thoughts of multiculturalism & stopping free speech. While of course being Anti-Zionist (In other words its all the joo’s fault)

Oh, I completely screwed that up then, I always thought after you said something then typed /sarc off, ppl knew you had been sarcastic and had just then turned it off. Now I’m trying to remember where else I may have posted and used that lol, I might be in trouble, maybe I should just become a leftard and run with it… wait a minute, I can’t, I’m too in love with the idea of freedom
I am amused by pretensions of an assault weapon ban in the US. Any US or Canadian Army vet will tell you that all you have to do to make a semi-automatic into a fully automatic is to remove the tang from the sear. OOPS! I shouldn’t have said that. The purpose of The US second amendment was to enable the populace to defend itself against a Government running amok, not go hunting bambi’s mama. Therefore the discussion of the possibility can’t be construed as illegal.
A militia if necessary…but not necessarily a militia ?
A little side story,
A friend of mine is now a Calgary police officer and his wife asked me before he started his gun training, what it was like to have a gun in the house?
I explained to her that a gun resting in the closet is like a car parked in a parking lot. Both consist of metal and both hold no danger when not being used. The only difference is that the car causes more deaths per year and the gun takes the wrap.
Rick
Funny thing is, I’m not sure I’ve got it right. Perhaps I’m the leftard.
It reminds me of a conversation I had with my wife last week about “Tea Bagging”. I told her that I’d rather be the “tea bagger” than the “tea baggie”. I thought the “tea bagger” is the one steeping his bag, but my wife thought the bagger is the receiver of the bag. Until I know for sure, I’ll stick to coffee.
BTW the Kenny vs. Spenny humiliation involving tea-bagging is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
“You also bought 1,529,635,000 rounds of ammunition in just the month of December 2008. Yeah that is right, that is Billion with a “B”.”
That number must be a little off. My checkbook suggest I bought almost that much all by myself… 😉

“…they’ve been sold out of 40s&w.”
Plenty around out here in the boonies, but the price has doubled. Long trip for me to WalMart, but they have the best prices. Perhaps I’m one of the few using a .40 in the area.
Hi All,
Not a gun guy, but I love the passion you guys show defending your rights.
I guess I should change that to ‘our’ rights.
Stay strong and stay on message. Lefty’s will stop at nothing to paint us as extremists who need ever more laws to protect us from ourselves.
And Indiana man…that WAS one of the funniest moments I’ve seen on that show…up there with Spenny sulking on the floor of a public washroom, covered in his own…well, I’m off topic.
Carry on…

“Phantom, I don’t know if that is a fair assessment of the situation..here the norm is the vast percentage of guns owned by the population are long guns of the hunting variety.”
Sometimes the old saying can have some real meaning:
“Beware of the man who owns but one gun.”
(He probably knows how to use it)
Hunters familiar with their firearms are usually fairly good marksmen. They are also usually using large caliber, scoped firearms. Some that can reach out a long distance and touch something. That can be a formidable consideration, especially in the heavily forested north.
I don’t know about other areas but there is a lot of shooting that goes on at the sporting clubs around here.
I have my own 50, 100 200 yard range right off my back deck (helps living on large acreages out in the boonies.
The club about an hour+ away regularly holds competitions at 500 yards. My friend that lives just beyond that has a range set up at 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 yards. Some of his friends have gotten pretty good at ringing that 1,000 yards steel buffalo consistently with their handloads.
I would put these people, in their home territory, up against a spray-and-pray group. The distances may not be to that latter group’s advantage all the time.
When I was around 19 years old I had a friend who had a Winchester Model 9410 lever action. He hunted, but said the main reason he had it was for defence against the government.
I asked him why he didn’t buy an Armalite like the government soldiers had,(they were still legal in Canada then) he said, “With one of these- he patted his Model 9410, I can get one of those when the soldiers come.”
His older brother had a Lee Enfield 303.
The real question is if Owe said, “March”, would Navy, Army, Airforce, National Guard etc listen to Owe’s command. After his treatment of the CIA I suspect that not one ship would sail, not one tank would roll nor one aircraft lift off should Owe lose the hounds on Americans.
‘Notice Harper has not abolished this white elephant either.’ (White Elephant)synonym for Gun Registry)
Revnant Dream – I watched the vote in the H. of Commons last Wen for a Bloc motion to reinstate criminal charges to people who own longuns and do not register them. Every member sitting on their Puffin posts in the Troika of Traitors (Puffins/Dippers/Blocheads) opposition party of Canada voted FOR that motion with the notable exception of Larry Bagnel (he campaigned against the long gun registry in the last election; it is very unpopular in the Yukon).
‘ For the first time since Larry Bagnel has been the Yukon Liebral M.P. , I am proud of our M.P.’
There should have been headlines about this like: ‘Lone Larry defies Leader and votes wishes of his constituents’ Graham Wafer (CTY) should have been interviewing Larry Bagnel covering the potential ‘split’ in the Liebral Party.
As far as I know the motion and the vote never even made headlines in major papers ..it passed…it is the ‘will of the people’…all the rural Dippers/Blocheads/Puffins have some ‘splainin to do’.
MSM fails again…
It’s so bad that there are now critical ammo shortages….and farmers in the Canadian and US “gopher belt” are worried they will not get enough .22s to control pests this year…resulting in crop losses and pasture damage.
I saw this coming and got a couple of .22 bricks stowed away for these “dry times”. If you roll your own small .22 center fires you can make some good beer and popcorn money shooting pests for ranchers this year.
Subject: Losing your wallet in Mexico
A guy was traveling through Mexico on
vacation when, low and behold, he lost his wallet and all
identification. Cutting his trip short, he attempted to make
his way home, but was stopped by a Mexican Customs Agent at
the Tijuana border.
“May I see your identification, por
> favor, señor?” asked the agent.
I’m sorry, but I lost my
wallet,” replied the guy. 0
“Si, amigo, I hear that every day. No
ID, no crossing the border,” said the agent.
“But I can prove that I’m an
American!” he exclaimed. “I have a picture of
ill Clinton tattooed on one butt cheek and
a picture of Hillary Clinton tattooed on the other.”
This I must see,” replied the agent. With that, the American dropped his pants and bent
over in front of the agent.
“Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, you’re right!” exclaimed the agent. “Have a safe trip
back to Chicago ”
Thanks!” he said. “But why do you think I’m from Chicago?”
agent replied, “I recognized Barack Obama in the middle!”
This is the best news I’ve heard since the U.S. election.
Very encouraging.
Well, those folks who bought guns, maybe they saw the Extreme Left win the election and figured they’d be better off safe than sorry.
Hmm… you know, if all the German Jews in the Third Reich were armed for self-defence, do you think the Holocaust would’ve happened, then?
When the People are armed, it’s tougher for the state to make victims of them. This is why the Extreme Left wants to impose “gun control”… not to stop people from using guns to shoot each other, but rather to ensure that the people won’t be able to resist tyranny and oppression from the state, which employs minions with guns.
Oz said “His older brother had a Lee Enfield 303”
Nice gun. I had one of those back in the ’70s. I used to keep it in my locker at school. I was caught once with some of the bullets in my pocket by the police. They were amazed by them. People who use guns appreciate ammo. A bullet like that can do a lot of damage. I didn’t have the gun with me so he gave me the bullets back and sent me on my way.
That’s almost enough of an arsenal to exterminate all the gophers in Saskatchewan. Almost.
This is why I can’t find powder or primers anywhere!
Indiana Homez:
Ya, sounds like you better stick with the tea, if I mention anything regarding male genitalia to my wife she runs for the hills, funny getting married seems to do that to the ladies hah.
Canadian Sentinel is absolutely right as far as why the left is always interested in gun control. Perhaps the general public should research gun control and see how well it’s served folks in the past. History has a funny way of repeating itself.
Just a couple of comments for all to munch on.
1. The Right to Bear Arms is an English Common Law Right. The US Constitution 2nd Amendment only copied it. We have it in Canada only if we stand up for it. The primary purpose is a true Militia; an army of the people. And not to fight the Democratically elected government of the day, but to prevent a Nazi/Commie takeover.
2. In Jamaica, the law is no guns or ammunition. If you were caught with so much as one round of live ammo in your pocket you could go to jail for life. Check out their crime rate.
3. If the Harper Conservatives were to abolish the Gun Registry via a government Bill, they would be held to blame for every suicide due to the coming recession (if the worst transpires) by the MSM. They would find themselves in the political wilderness for decades. That possibly is why Bill C-301 is a private members Bill. And, sparing a miracle, it doesn’t stand a chance in He*l.
4. The B.C. Government made a pilgrimage to Ottawa to glean support in fighting Crime Gangs. They are Liberals and for example have spent a great deal of resources “Surrounding The Wrong Building” by going after Movie Industry Prop suppliers of Deactivated guns. The only company that did this (supply gangs) was issued a license by the Chief Firearms Officer who did not check to ensure they were indeed movie industry suppliers. They imported over 2000 guns (likely from China) for the gangs but have never been prosecuted.
(Additional pressure on Harper.)
I called a buddy to tell him about this story on
ammoland.com. He was laughing so hard he couldn’t talk so I eventually had to hang up on him. I called him back an hour later – he was still howling.
“The law of unintended consequences”. The Totus is a Total buffoon!
Probably the high point of the first 100 days….
