Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

That’s fricking brilliant. WW wins the thread!

Too funny….unicorns are definitely in the vogue amongst the chattering class, of course Kate has been pointing that out for awhile and the breadth of the connotations that go with the image are boundless.

Two things:
Common sense is a misnomer, rather it should be called uncommon sense and it is not a natural gift but the product of instincts, an inquisitive mind and experience. Common sense is a process that is continuous and requires a commitment.
I’m willing to bet nobody here expects anyone to take anything on faith. In answer to your question….It’s not what to think but how to think. Dig up the information yourself and common sense will become natural. Seek varied sources, use google, if things look the same ask yourself what is different, if things look different ask yourself what’s the same, watch for conflicts between what is said and what is done, trust your gut and look for facts…act accordingly.
You might want to start by reading Plato’s Allegory of the Cave.

cave ahht: Stick with your instincts, but keep your eyes open. I think the world is in such a mess because too many people just swallow what they are fed by media, politicians and other manipulators. It’s a challenge to sort out what’s right and true.
It is my understanding that ‘o’ has not liked Rush for many years. There is much animosity between the two and it seems to be personal. Pray for Rush – he is going to need it.
Brain Drain – good point.
i read something yesterday with all sorts of Rush quotes that were meant to make him out to be a knuckle-dragging ogre.
my first thought (other than that they weren’t so bad) was that there were only, like, 5 or 6 from the last decade that they seemed to think were so outrageous.
if i followed someone around 5 hours per day, year after year, there’d be thousands of dumb things.
they had 5 or 6.
wow.
How should Colin Thatcher be remembered? How should Grant Devine be remembered? How should Brian Mulroney be remembered?
