  1. I have never met – nope, can’t say that cause I have never met Kate.
I have never known – nope can’t say that either.
I have never ‘known of someone’ who can see issues as they really are, and quickly, and sees what is and is not relevant and write about it in a good natured fashion, while at the same time, being no push-over and having no ego.
Even though I am retired, I can hardly keep up reading all at sda. The only thing that would explain it – Kate has a bank of 20 or so researchers and writers who have hours long board meetings to determine the final content.
    * From someone who, in the past:
    – watched the National faithfully
    – As It Happens listener
    – subs to Wpg Free Press
    – Macleans
    – Times Canada
    – Times USA
    – Scientific American
    – G&M
    – Flying

  2. Well this is going to be a fight I can see.
Over at the Canadian blog voting, Ezra has things well in hand. Time to help out Torch and Canadian Sentinel for a day or two.

  3. Kate you scamp:-)))))
had me fooled as I never check the addy bar
and I’ll bet O’l W K’s head exploded when he clicked the link:-))))

  4. Kate’s high numbers might mean something if many of the other blogs were actually promoting this award. You’ll notice that Michelle Malkin doesn’t even make mention of it on her site, where as Kate has been shouting “PICK ME!!!, PICK ME!!!” on the top of her blog since it all started.
A better way to judge what is really the best conservative blog would be to compare visits. SDA would get it’s *ss kiiiiiiiiiiiiiicked.

  5. Barry’s right. Look at the pitiful trolls, like Barry, your blog attracts, Kate. Hardly first class (kinda like Barry).

  6. And since, Kate’s bold response didn’t seem to alert enough people, I’ll say it again.
It’s a joke, a fake… The NYT did not post this. Why? Because the weblog awards don’t mean anything. It’s like getting a best dad sticker from your kid.
Again I’ll reiterate that half of the contestants in this category don’t even care to promote their nomination. What does that tell ya?

  7. Good gag. I find the real humour in the “Most e-mailed” links near the bottom of the page (#2 on Kate’s edit, #4 currently on the “real” NYT):
“Saving a Squirrel by Eating One”. That sounds like another “small dead aniamal” to me…

  8. barry: “…what does that tell you?”
    That you can’t read.
    From Ace of Spades:
You Can Vote For Ace Here. Come on people, the Canadian, the Canadian for God’s sake, is catching up! You can’t let that happen, eh.
To quote some leftard, “Yes. We. Can!”

Now them’s some sour grapes or WHAT?
“A better way to judge what is really the best conservative blog would be to compare visits. SDA would get it’s *ss kiiiiiiiiiiiiiicked”
Or simply win and have “The Best Conservative Blog 2008” Sticker on your front page!
    Where’s yours? He he he…….

  10. “Pretty easy, Warwick. Open page source, save it to a file, edit where necessary, and rehost it on your own server.”
That’s why you always, always hover over a hyperlink to see where it’s REALLY going to. And always be skeptical of those tinyurl links.
Always go to the last .whatever in a URL. Scammers love to put official-looking domains in their overly-long URLs, hoping that you won’t horizontal pan to the true domain, stuff like http://www.google.com.scam.com
In this case, scam.com is where you’d be really be going to.
