Nevermind the new COMPAS poll out today. COMPAS: CPC 51, LPC 20, NDP 10, BQ 8, GPC 6
Let’s drive the Coalition Fantasy Tour into the wilderness proper. Rally For Canada is still a go, just check the link for information on events in your region.
Saskatchewan locations – Saskatoon City Hall and Provincial Legislature in Regina.

I’ll be at the rally tomorrow for sure. Nothing is going to stop this.
I’ve talked a whole whack of people into going – a few of which may even show up 😉
WHOO HOO! Now we NEED an election! I will be going to Rally for Canada in Ottawa on Parliament Hill, I’ve been planning to go all week.
It is strange how all our media has mentioned the poll results except the Toronto Star !!
i think a little bit funny
it is what Mr.Dion said
” could we repeat and do it again”
nobody get it what he meant by say that words
now i can understand what he meant by that
why not let do new round
i may this time vote to one person
really i am not joking i really will won
by know each person details of their plan
on the table
and it better do not copy cat of each others
and do not copy from Mr. Obama too
please do not forget here is called CANADA
WE CAN DO ANYTHING WE WANT AS LONG AS
ALL IS IN PURPOSE OF BETTER GOVERNMENT
WE NEED THOSE GROUP PROOF TO NORMAL MID CLASS CAANDAIN WHAT THEY PLAN TO DO
AND WE PROMISE FIRST LISTEN TO ALL
THEN WE MADE VOTE TO THE BEST PERSON
WHO HAD BETTER IDEAS AND DO HIS HOMEWORK WELL
FOR BETTER CANADA
Let’s do it again
I could not stop laugh of hearing all new voice
because government with minority is funny
either must be majority to do what they plan to do or some one who know better or join of three group in modle of one do the job
it is hard for Mr.Harper to work also with miniroty vote
he is PM but not able to do PM solely job too
I am sorry for Mr.Harper really
but it is benefit all of us to have majority government to have minority to work with hard time and no max power to deliver thier plan
BTW good luck to all for new election if we expect to have new one
we still waiting toknow detail plan to made choice
In Ottawa from noon until 2 p.m. on Parliament Hill. I have my sign ready.
The “talking points” that the Tories derive from this episode (in bed with the separatists, etc.) will rival the old Lib favorites like the “hidden agenda”. This will be the Christmas gift that keeps on giving.
Kate,
With a smile on my face … isn’t it indeed a reflection of the strange times we’re in that we don’t want people feeling too good about the Conservative Party’s new extraordinary poll numbers?!
Rain or Shine, I’m DEFINITELY going down to Vancouver’s Library Square tomorrow!
Make no mistake folks, if the turnout is low, this WILL be used against us when the Coalition (or its successor) tries to once again take power in 2009!!!
Robert
I will be attending the rally in Kelowna tomorrow. I really wonder how many people will show as the people in this valley seem to live in their own world.
No protest at Ralphie’s Regina office? Too bad.
I’ve rearranged my day to be there.
Maybe I’ll take my Union Jack!
Take Note on how many people are said to have attended the rally’s & Note to as who they interview when the Media do their report’s.
Note that the Media(ctv)said their were over a thousand at the Boistrous Ottawa rally.
It would be nice too if any attending could do “Live Blogging” for those of us that are unable to attend but whole heartedly support the Rally’s.
Thankyou & Bestwishes to all that Attend the Rally’s & Keep the Tempers Cool as this is what the Media loves to report on.
new , you got your typing accent back!!!
I said it during the election and I’ll say it again – stop making fun of the way Dion speaks because these blogs are monitored by the media and they will use it to show we are anti-Quebecois.
I think Dion is a clown too and his video was a classic kneeslapper, but I don’t try to imitate him to make fun of him.
By the way it is sometimes painful to listen to Harper speak in French, not because of his accent which is not too bad, but because he doesn’t have more than a practical vocabulary in French. You can see him using the same phrases and words over and over because he is unable to go into any rhetorical flourish. Several times during his speech after meeting with the G.G. you could see him almost get lost in his thoughts because he has to spend too much of his energy just translating in his head. Too bad because his sincerity comes through, but he can never inspire in French.
Kate.
I cancelled a hunting trip to attend tomorrows rally.
Boy was I in the dumps, for it would be last time this year I could go push some bush with a bang stick to put game on the table.
Until I realized I was going on a “political” hunting trip with fellow “true” Canadians.
Anyone in Winnipeg or surrounding area, its 12:00 – 2:00 at the Legislative grounds downtown! Vic Toews, Hugh McFadyen and Charles Adler are speaking.
Here is the facebook event listing!

Our soldiers wear one uniform under one flag for one reason Freedom and Democracy.
They wear their uniform hold our nation’flag with pride, honour and respect.
Their love for freedom which they have in abundance is not to be kept selfishly but to share it with the world.
They love Freedom and Democracy so much that they are willing to sacrifice their lives for those who hunger for it.
Their blood shared for us will be engraved in stone.
Let’s us all help them fight for our democracy our country and our flag.
________________
I pray that God will embrace our troops who lost their lives for those who yearn for the love of Freedom and Democray
I’m hoping to be able to get back to S’toon in time for this.
Nicola – Most Canadians are tired of pandering to Quebec. 40 years of tired.
Yahoo on that Compas Poll. CPC-51%… I haven’t seen numbers like that in Canada for any political party in over 20 years, if not more.
The media spin is making me sick to my stomach and I had to e-mail them all and nail their miserable hides to the back wall of their e-mail clients.
The Rallys for our Conservatives are all across the country and in Vancouver are from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.
I hear that Bob Rae ‘has taken it on himself to go around the country to push for the coalition’.
I also heard that he was shouting orders in the caucus meeing to both Dion and Ignatieff.
If they can be bossed around by an old NDP idiot like Bob Rae then neither one of them are worthy of dog catcher, let alone leader of party, coalition, whatever they are calling themselves today.
I want to see the conservatives get a huge majority but the way this thing is going , that may not be necessary for the forseeable future as the coalition seems to be falling apart by the hour. When we get to the Budget presentation in the House the end of January, it might be a whole new ballgame. If the two senior Liberals are encouraging liberals to cross the floor because they are so disgusted with getting in bed with the Bloc and NDP, Conservatives might have a majority by the time parliament re-convenes and if not , I doubt the coalition will have the nerve to vote down a budget the entire country is waiting for as a necessary means to keep the economic viability on track. I hear Ignatieff and Dion want to support the budget and therefore Bob Rae has now taken the ‘reins’ of the coalition to promote it countrywide. I hope this is seen by everyone for what it is. Bob Rae wants to be PM. I hope this move puts him in the political wilderness for the next 20 years. We don’t need him in Ottawa doing to the country what he did to Ontario. Not now. Not ever!

It did? I skipped over it once I saw the length and horrid paragraph structure. Should have guessed.
How long to we have to kiss Quebec’s ass to make them feel they are Canadians? If the stupid bastards don’t feel like they are part of Canada yet, they never are going to. Big deal you are French, get over it. I am to the point I would like to take a big chainsaw, cut them out of Canada, and float them down the St. Lawerence.
CPC 51, LPC 20, NDP 10, BQ 8, GPC 6
Good numbers, but …. I expected better.
Just what does the LPC and NDP have to do to drop to single digits? During this entire fiasco, these parties proved without a shadow of a doubt that they are unprincipled, selfish and just plain stupid.
The way that they’ve conducted themselves lately should result in a score of zero, or close to it.
I plan to attend my local event.
While there, I will be contemplating how it appears that Bob Rae is after Jack Layton’s job.
Bob Rae, the only man who can unite the left.
Nicola, New wasn’t making fun of the way Dion mangles English.
Re the rally: Unfortunately, Kingston isn’t participating so hope I can rely on honest media coverage.
I have been talking to hard core lefties, and they are pissed at the sepratist/lib/ndp coaliton. I wish an election were called, to put the last nail in the coffin of the lefties.
Post by: Nicola Timmerman; I do sort of agree with you that we should not make to much fun of Dion. It’s so hard though, he leaves so many openings for a person to take. As for PMSH to speak french and carry on a speech, I don’t know about that one. Usually they talk in circles until you lose all interest in the subject and you ask what and they have to start all over again. It reminds of one real master at it ‘PET’. Could talk for an hour and by the end of it you never knew what ‘PET’ was telling you. PMSH talks in very calm modulated voice with no waste of words and he puts the point across very well.
I will be attending the rally tomorrow at Parliament Hill in Ottawa and am really looking foward to it! I hope that we get a really good crowd, at least more than the union rally yesterday which was reported to be around 1000.
Caroline from Gatineau
Tomorrow is an aniversary of Montreal Massacre. Day to remember that 19 years ago “Gamil Gharbi” Algerian-born son of a Muslim wife-beater killed 14 young Canadian women and wounded 13 more with a Ruger Mini-14 at L’Ecole Polytechnic in Montreal.
You cannot hold a pro-Canada Rally on day like that. It is the most sacred day of the year according to Canadian Feminist Calendar. Canadian feminists are already furious that people call “a typical and ordiary Canadian male Marc Lepine” by his real name “Gamil Gharbi”. How could you possibly run a proper gender war by protesting against mass murders committed by Muslim immigrant from Algeria??? It would look kind of stupid and it could possibly put feminists on one side with Conservatives and that would look totally nonsensical and ridiculous.
‘See everybody there!!
I am attending the one in Edmonton at the provincial legislature building.
Oh, FGS: Rob Rousseau on Newman’s Politics on CBC is talking about the “danger” to Canadian unity of alienating the Bloc Quebecois.
EXCUSE ME?
How the He** can we possibly have Canadian unity by playing footsy with the Blockheads? They want the dissolution of a united Canada, for Heaven’s sake.
Could we please get real–or is that too much to ask of political commentators in the MSM? I think I already know that answer to that one …
I’ll be at Queen’s Park.
Dear Karol, I always think about the Montreal massacre each year at this time. And I will tomorrow, just like I’ll be thinking of the 3 Canadians soldiers who were recently killed.
You trying to connect a pro-democracy rally with a slap in the face of women is both despicable and disingenuous.
Kitchener…12 noon in Victoria park!!
Snowbunnie wondered about the historical comparison of the current 51% support of the Conservatives in the latest poll.
I was curious too and just posted this to check: http://pelalusa.blogspot.com/2008/12/positive-signs-all-around.html
Snow or shine, I’ll be at the Manitoba Legislative Building tomorrow. 🙂
BTW, the political “pundits” on Newman were talking negatively about the rallies this weekend, vis a vis “Canadian unity.”
Please, please, a majority CPC government, so we can chuck the CBC altogether. If there’s any “danger” to “Canadian unity” it’s the asshat punditry we get at the Mother Corpse every day–and, to add insult to injury, we the taxpayers have to pay for it.
Mercy!
There will a moment of silence for the montreal massacre in Calgary tomorrow
When the Liberals/NDP/BLOC say they are listening to what Canadians want and that this was all Harper’s fault quote this:
OTTAWA – A clear majority of Canadians believe that political parties should not be funded by the public purse, according to a new poll that suggests Prime Minister Stephen Harper was on the right track when he eliminated the subsidy, sparking outrage from the opposition parties.
Sixty-one per cent of voters said they oppose federal political parties securing $1.95 annually for each vote, which is a major source of party funding.
—
So, really WHO is listening to Canadians??????
Is it just me or something??? I can’t find the CBC’s reports on the various poll results. 😛
WOOOOOOOO!
That is all.
How about that 62% majority business? Pretty embarrassing now I guess, eh?
Seems the new polls have the added benefit of chasing the usual trolls back under the bridge.
Where’s the ever ridiculous manny? Iberia? Liberal Ron? ‘Professional photographer’ Davidson?
Be aware that organized labour is mobilizing the faithful for pro-coalition counter-demonstrations at the same time as the Rallies for Canada. For example, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation sent a memo to all its members today urging them to attend a pro-coalition rally in Toronto at Nathan Philips Square at the same time as the Rally for Canada at Queen’s Park. They are chartering buses to bring in demonstrators to Toronto from all over southern Ontario. It’s really important under these circumstances for us to get our message across and turn out in large numbers.
HEH. Iggy just said on Politics that NO LIBERAL would ever enter into any agreement that would see one province given preferential treatment over another so this whole BLOC thing is just Harper trying to create divisions in the Liberal party.
Gee – Duceppe was already bragginbg that Quebec was going to get $1.2 BILLION MORE and that this 3 comrades deal gave him every single demand that he had made. And, that was just the beginning.
To see some his demands , that are just for Quebec BTW does anyone have access to Hansard where Duceppe said he made his demands in the HOuse and also in a meeting with the Prime MInister who asked for all party input towards next year’s budget. Gilles said he was upset because Harper IGNORED his demands.
That’s right, Gilles – NEXT YEAR”S BUDGET – for April 1st allocations- not 2008 fiscal year.
So – maybe someone should tell Iggy that HIS coalition WAS ready to give Quebec preferential treatment over the other provinces and GOSH – if NO Liberal would EVER do that …..maybe this whole charade is against Liberal values????
I don’t think Canadians are going to buy the busloads of union personnel “rallying” in Toronto. We’re all getting wise to this smoke and mirrors stuff.
No doubt, the busloads of lefties will be getting a packed lunch and a refrigerator magnet on top of the bus ride.
I am attending the one in Edmonton at the provincial legislature building.
So am I Merle. I’ll be carrying a Canadian flag so I should stand out! I’ll have my digi cam and vid recorder so will send some pics when I get back.
Man wouldn’t I just love to see a couple hundred thousand people walking in downtown Edmonton.
Marie at 6:29 PM:
You’re kidding? Does Iggy think we’re so stupid that we can’t do basic arithmetic, that we don’t know that 114 is less than 143? The only way they can get more than 143 is with the BQ’s support and that that support will not come cheap?
Quebec will get preferential treatment under the coalition, no ifs, and or buts; it won’t work otherwise.
Food for thought from http://chuckercanuck.blogspot.com/“ rel=”nofollow”> Chucker, in his comment section isn’t it interesting that in a few months time, Charest and Harper might have majority governments and a constitution might get signed by all provinces. finally.
You might find interesting this little correspondence I’ve had in the past 24 hours with a longtime friend of mine. Unfortunately for him, he’s a public school teacher in Vancouver and so has been forced to drink the ultra-left Kool-Aid:
ME:
Can I assume that you didn’t drink the same Kool Aid as your Liberal in-laws on this matter? I found it a great affront to our democracy that such a coalition was formed so soon after the past election and before event the first budget. And I would have said precisely the same thing had the Liberals been in power and the Conservatives tried the same hijinks.
HIM:
I think Stevo has shown his true colours stirring up false information about the role of the bloc Q in the ‘coalition’, yet alone what is constitutionally allowed.
Isn’t 62% of parliament non-conservatives? Now if only Celine Dion’s dad would step down and let Bob Rae step in we’d might get somewhere.
ME:
You’re turning into a true Radical Leftist in your old age. I’m truly embarrassed for you to be blaming Stephen Harper for this. To be selling your soul as a Western Canada, doubly so.
New polls out:
– Redacted so that comment will appear on SDA –
But don’t let the facts get in the way of your HATE for Harper!
From Blue Like You comments: This is your reply at the rally when they call Harper a tyrant for closing down parliament. Chretien did it to avoid the public knowing about the theft of more than $100 million of YOUR money!!!!
Was Chretien a dictator, tyrant, undemocratic lying scumbag too?
.
“While information on the misuse of funds had been known for a few years, a fuller account of the situation was made public in early February 2004 by Auditor General Sheila Fraser.
In her report, Fraser revealed that up to $100 million of the $250 million spent on the sponsorship program from 1996 to 2001 had been paid for little or no work.
It is interesting to note that Fraser’s report was originally scheduled to be released in November 2003, when Jean Chrtien was Prime Minister.
However, parliament prorogued and the report could not be tabled until parliament reconvened in 2004.
Late in 2003 Chrtien retired and Paul Martin was chosen as the new leader of the Liberal Party, thus becoming Prime Minister. The fall-out from the scandal now landed squarely in Martin’s lap.”
