Today on CNN’s Situation Room … Donna Brazile tried to cement the image of The Messiah, and actually compared Barack Obama to Jesus Christ (the community organizer) and Sarah Palin to Pontius Pilate (the Governor).
But charges of “liberal media bias” are nothing more than the product of fevered neanderthal imaginations!

Hillary clearly found a target in the experience play, the 3:00 am ad. Her poll numbers improved afterwards, why I have no idea its not like she had experience. This is not a winning issue for the Dems and they would be better advised to change the channel, embrace Palin as experienced and focus on what she did or didnt do in her executive positions.

The “Jesus-Pilate” comparison was also trotted out by Mark Shields on PBS’s “Inside Washington” this morning. It seems that these pundits are all copying each others “zingers”. Only this wasn’t that zingy. Charles Krauthammer retorted immediately that it was a low blow, (which it was) and the thing fell pretty flat since it was so obviously a completely unhinged remark.
It is a sad day for Obama, when his campaign and the media need to defend the importance of his experience as a “Community Organizer”. That they are working so hard to rally America’s Community Organizers, to attack McCain/Palin for being insenstive, etc, shows that the Palin pick for VP has thrown their narrative for a complete loop. In that narrative, Obama is a man of destiny, History’s (or “herstory’s”) One chosen to be the first black man in the white house – an inexorable progression from humble beginnings to the worthy (nay, saintly) task of “community organizing” to becoming president, and community organizer of the free world. “Who better to be president”, the narrative goes, “than a Community Organizer? – we could see even then, the proof of this man’s unique destiny.”

First of all, like the child in the crowd pointing out that the emperor has no clothes, she exposes the reality that working as a community organizer is not particularly germane to the work of being President. My understanding is that Jesus Christ was NOT the first community organizer, as claimed by the Obama campaign.
He did not come on this earth to make earth a better place (Ceasar and God distinction come to mind), but to prepare for afterlife.
When I bounced the ‘the Obama campaign claims JC was the first community organizer’ off him, he kinda looked at me funny and said ‘no, he wasn’t.’
