  1. And I thought Leave It To Beaver was hokey (even back in those dim black & white rabbit ear days).

  2. Gosh, I miss those days. Hokey or not, respect and good manners, discipline and family life (like, families LIVING together) make me long for the good ol’ days of the fifties.
For the rest of you, get a job with social services and beg for early retirement.

  3. Ditto on that Biff. They criticize MSM–The Globe and Mail doesn’t shut down for two week stints in Asia.!!

Yeah, it’s a friggin’ outrage. Demand your money back. Seriously, what a pair of whiners.

  5. Biff & Jack:
This is humor guys! Mystery Science theatre is classic.
P.S. If you don’t like the posts…sod off! Kate deserves a holiday and the guest bloggers are doing a terrific job. Start your own blog and keep your whining there.

  6. I beg to differ the thing about the msm not buggering off for days at a time. Anyone who has had to endure stories like OJ’s trial or murdered blonde tourists in the Bahamas, or wherever the hell it was, will know that the MSM latches on and rarely moves on far more than it doesn’t.

  7. What is it about some people that wholesomeness causes such angry reactions?

  8. Damn right Cjunk, good post. I liked the nostalgia of the thing and laughed like hell at the hecklers in the front row.

  9. Agreed Louise, msm hangs onto the hollyweird stories like it’s their only crack fix for the day.
Newscasts use to be called ‘the news’ then ‘news and entertainment’, now entertainment shows are calling themselves ‘entertainment news programs’, shows how blurry the lines between the two are to me. Reality means nothing to the LSM.

  10. the older kids behaviour is disturbing, he never takes his hands off the younger feller. must have gone for a career as a priest.

  11. Cjunk, thank you. I enjoyed that, but I wished the hecklers would just shut up. I serve dinner to my large and rowdy family and our grace seems more like the starting gun that opens the gates at a horse race. I wouldn’t want to have to put in the work involved in trying to maintain the standards being derided here, but I can’t help feeling a bit wistful.

  12. To Pete: Pete, if you look carefully, those people who react violently to a simple comment usually have a brown spot on the middle of their nose!!!
