As The Aryan Guard Parades Down A Calgary Street Under Police Escort

Scratch a leftist… you know the rest.

The resolution states that CUPW will work “… with Palestinian solidarity and human rights organizations to develop an educational campaign about the apartheid nature of the Israeli state and the political and economic support of Canada for these practices.” The resolution also calls on the Canadian government to increase humanitarian aid to Palestinians who have been affected by the conflict, and commits CUPW to research on Canadian involvement in the occupation.

  1. “I have just now passed a resolution to ignore the ‘C’ in CUPW.”
No no, that “C” is obviously for “Cuban”…

  2. More aid to the Palestinians? These are the fathers of the desert and until they start to show an interest in being productive and doing something constructive they should be left to fester in their own hate.

  3. “Visit your local post office and thank the workers for this resolution! Let them know that you appreciate this show of solidarity with Palestine.”
As is so often the case, you can bet that the vast majority of mail carriers haven’t a clue that their “delegates” endorsed this abomination. I doubt there was a rank and file vote on this.
If anyone makes a trip to the post office or has contact with your mail carrier would you report back.

  4. I think CUPW should kill two birds with one stone and express their solidarity with the Palestinian people as well as other oppressed minorities by organizing a gay pride parade down the streets of Gaza City this year.

  5. I think CUPW should deliver mail in the palestinian territories for 6 months to show solidarity. Then go deliver mail in Israel for 6 months.
    Then vote again.

  6. Independent of their most current political idiocracy, the postal service should be replaced to the greatest degree possible by mail pickup sites. A new and appropriately shorter CUPW motto should be USE. Useless, Stupid, Expensive. And they should have a Top 10 reasons why union workers and the NDP should continue to help destroy Israel.
Human rights in Israel vs. AMC (any muslim country)
Women’s rights in Israel vs. AMC
Gay rights in Israel vs. AMC
Union rights in Israel vs. AMC
Standard of living for workers in Israel vs. AMC
Medical care for workers in Israel vs. AMC
Public education for workers’ kids Israel vs. AMC
    Environmentalism in Israel vs. AMC
Nobel prize winners in Israel today vs. aggregated number of Nobel prize winners in the history of AMC, ever.
But the real reason number one reason CUPW wants Israel destroyed:
Worker productivity in Israel vs. AMC

  7. I’m thinking of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer refused mail service, but even he couldn’t get away with it.
As others have pointed out, unlikely the members agree with this or ever voted on it.

  8. I think Purolater is owned by the post office. We have plenty of alternate courier services to use don’t we.

  9. I can assure you that the members did not vote on this, were not informed about it,and I can positively state that this member would have strongly opposed it.CUPW’s leadership is basically made of potential NDP candidates. They spend more time looking after the world than their own members. The actual workers at the post office, and delivering mail is getting worse every contract, sneer at our union. If someone is hired and is too f’en incompetent to do the job we tag them as union material.

  10. anon:
You bring up an interesting observation about human nature … ‘they spend more time looking after the world than their own members.’
It is my observation this is a very common affliction, which is rooted in blame-shifting.
I do not know who anybody is here but I can guarantee one thing. If somebody points out a mistake or tries to correct anybody here, what is the immediate reaction? I know that it’s to say the first thing that comes to your mind to blame the error on somebody else.
Such is the nature of today’s left-wing politics.
Even though humans will take credit for their happiness, they will always blame somebody else for their misery.
It’s too bad these blame-shifters and control freaks are becoming so prevalent in places such as union executives and left-wing politics.
Their energies would be better expended figuring out how their attitude toward the misery every human being has to go through is the key to happiness. Dwelling on their victimization and perceived oppression has never led to a happy ending … it just increases their own bitterness.

  11. Well, anon, maybe it’s time the rational people in CUPW took their union back from the moonbats. Why don’t YOU get like-minded fellow workers together, and run an anti-idiotarian slate in the next CUPW leadership race? You are the one in the belly of the beast.

  12. BTW, my postal “workers” are terrible. All of them since years ago. Lazy; always have a truck, don’t walk much anymore; literally drive the truck onto my step and deposit someone else’s mail into my box (my mail is either given to someone else or even dropped onto the ground and lost- I found a bill after the snow melted!).
In the olden days I had a real mailman. He was good, scrupulous, on time and almost never mixed up or lost anybody’s mail. What a difference “progressivism” and entitlism makes!
They’re really pissing me off. They’re that bad. Not surprised that their union is so stupid and would side with hateful, murderous Islamic fascists!

  13. I agree with what you say and would support a member-oriented candidate. It would be a long hard journey, fortunately the current leadership is alienating more members each and every day.

  14. Hey,we are not all bad.The job is such that when it is done properly no one notices. But as soon as something goes awry, watch out, a lot of anti-gov’t sentiment is unleashed upon the carrier. When was the last time you took the time to acknowledge the job well done, hmmm.Maybe those out in southern alberta this week,or out in the maritimes the past few years would like to walk a mile or ten in a postie’s shoes?

  15. With friends like CUPW, the Palestinians, already screwed by their own whacko leaders, are further placed behind the eight ball of history, where they will be further scorned by their Arab neighbours.

  16. Don’t be too quick to bash the members because of the Communist activists that infest all public sector union leadership. I know several CUPW members who are NOT supporters of this or any other union political agenda, but as usual, the 10% who dedicate their lives to activism, run the show to the detriment of the members.
The average postie has as much say in how things operate at the top, as we citizens do about what goes on in Ottawa.
I was a shop steward in the BCGEU many years ago, and the Union was just in the process of being taken over by a radical element, many of whom were former English labour agitator types. We tried to be a voice of moderation, but it was like Stanfield versus Trudeau. We moderates weren’t well versed in “electrifying the crowd” and never had a chance.
These guys are great speechmakers, know how to rouse a crowd, and perform like great orators during election campaigns. The Union sheeple are no different than any other sheeple, and they fall for the seductive rhetoric every time, just like the majority of the rest of Canadians, when they vote Liberal/NDP over and over.
Israeli apartheid? What a joke. The only history these people know is the history of the Communist movement, and how to win by the dirtiest tactics available.

  17. My postal service is excellent. The regular mail arrives the same time each day, and I don’t recall the last time I lost anything in the mail.
I get tons of packages, and except for a mixup with a street of a similar name I have never had a problem. I find the mail system better to use than UPS, who have given me far more grief.
This is nothing to do with the little guys at CUPW. It is purely a political ploy by NDP activists in the leadership. It is disturbing, though, that no one has challenged the leadership on this.
I assume that everyone here knows the CUPE (the Canadian Union of Public Employees), which I suspect has far more members and money than CUPW, have also had resolutions against Israel.

  18. I have to agree with Lori, my mail service is actually very good. I also understand that the union leadership typically works in the best interests of the union leadership, not the membership at large. So it is with far too many organizations.

  19. So the union for canadian government workers is opposed to government policy? Is that it?
Personally, I think if they spent less time posing and a little more time dealing with Canadian issues, and particularly those of their employees, they’d be at least be of some use.
Are the Union Dues Paying members aware of this particular CUPW position?

  20. Actually I feel sorry for the average inside worker. Over the years I have had opportunity to be in several postal plants and I can not think of any other place that has more conflict with the possible exception of the extreme fighting seen on TV. Maybe they find consolation in the ongoing conflict between the Arabs and Israelis.

  21. I’ve been in business for some 38 years and I can recall during many of those years when mail service was atrocious. Then at some point someone in government (yes, Canadian government) decided that Canada Post needed to be run like a business. There were alot of growing pains what with the introduction of the “postal code” which the Union fought tooth and nail because it would cause some mail sorter their jobs but eventually things began to turn around at the old Post Office. For quite some years now I have found Canada Post to be delivering a very acceptable level of service.
Now those at the head of the CUPW are quite another story. These are activists using their bully pulpit to drive an agenda that is pure communism. I read the post by eyeswideshut at 12:36pm and say “right on”. Where is the justification for the “political” position the CUPW has taken on the Israeli/Palestinian issue? You see, it has nothing to do with worker’s rights or anything of the sort. It has purely to do with anti-semetism. They are Taliban Jack clones.

  22. AS a human being I find find that CUPW’s resolution to be hateful to me and frightening, can anyone tell me how to initiate a complaint with the CHRC?

  23. I assume that everyone here knows the CUPE (the Canadian Union of Public Employees), which I suspect has far more members and money than CUPW, have also had resolutions against Israel.

Sadly I can confirm that. Most people I work for hate the Union . Its a scam period. Trust me , most of us know it or have been burnt . Every time we get a wage hike they also take a big percentage, accompanied by a Union upped dues.
Your forced every year to watch your coin go towards the NDP without legal recourse. No one even shows up anymore at Union meetings except the true believers.
I did say something to management privately, & the union about their bigoted resolutions, about the third meeting I have been to in 23 years. No one would listen, nor let me speak. Not surprising considering one of the main guys involved in decision making , is Lebanese.
They even give lists for us to vote on. We like them because it shows us who NOT to vote for.
The Union folks almost to a person are control freaks with a love of money. There usually the rats who get heart attacks running to squeal to teacher on people,
hoping it gets them a promotion.
I know of one who had to apologize to Italian immigrants twice formally as punishment for ranting about them. This is not unusual nor the white collar crimes that are ignored. Nor the Union ones as well. They are usually anti smoking butt snifters along with an air of superiority. Smells more like skunk to me. As for the members they do diddly squat for us most times unless it’s a collective issue.
We have tried 3 times now for reform, but management who also has a hand in this, forbids it.
You see their team leaders & crew leaders who run the Union are in effect Management since they have to have a certain educational level.
Its a real caste system. Can anyone say conflict of interest?
No wonder these anti-Jewish shots or actions are never heard. Last time they voted on a Saturday. Gee wonder why? Its apparent now the left is anti-Israel It has taken up the diseased sickness of ant-Semitism. The world is increasingly that way.

  24. I know quite a number of posties. Generally hard-working people. Their union leadership however is another story. They have been nothing but trouble-makers since the days of Parrot. None of the posties I know have an iota of respect for their union leadership. Mostly they just want to do their job, collect a chack and enjoy their lives. However, the poor leadership is their fault for tolerating it.

  25. I didn’t know palis received mail, or could read.
Is the CommieUberPaliWachter under the terrorist list yet?

  26. any company or outfit that is a monopoly should never be allowed to unionize… period

  27. Well, anything that can be said about postal unions would not be polite to repeat in public. I do have two experiences that probably speak volumes.
Back in Winnipeg a couple of dozen years ago and had my letter carrier suspended and disciplined. Reason? He jogged his route and was too fast.
Just last week I put in a change of address/forwarding request to the US Postal Service for my move back to Canada. cost: nothing, nada. Oh, and I did get door to door service including Saturdays. Cost in Canada is only a mere $105.00.

  28. why does anyone need a mailman (person)? I live in a very small town,go to a green box to get my mail, people in cities should be able to accomplish this,it’s quite easy. Why do I have to pay taxes so city folk can get door to door mail delivery.Use a post office box and go get it yourself!
