Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Sweet, looks like fun to me!
I was trying to read the jersey — Team Canada? No # either, but something Eddie Shack might do (for those old enough to remember).
That’s an amazing jump! Never seen anything like it. Is that local … or from where?
looks like a classic Chicago jersey. and those mountains are just east of Delisle. right.?
I didn’t know you owned a snow machine Kate.
“That’s an amazing jump! Never seen anything like it. Is that local … or from where?”
Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Amazing jump. I like the Bionic Man sound effects……LOL
From the video:
Red Bull athlete and Canadian Ross Mercer hits it large, establishing a new world record for longest snowmobile ramp jump! Ross flew a gigantic 263.5 ft, smashing the old record of 245 ft.
This has since been beaten. Paul Thacker upped the record to 271 ft just last week.
Paul Thacker – 271 ft
I saw Mr. Mercer accomplish that feat on Discovery or something a while back. Interesting that it has since been topped. Someone is going to get seriously messed up before long. I hope nobody gets hurt, obviously, but it’s almost inevitable given the high rate of speed, distance and the hardness of terra firma.
Are you kidding? My wife would kill me if I tried that anywhere near her. Maybe I’ll go over to a friends place 😉
My wife and I wish she would have stopped me from resuming a motocross racing ‘career’ at 36, after a 10 year ‘retirement’. After a horrible hip fracture/dislocation, 5 years later I am looking forward to a total hip replacement in my 40’s and have had to go back to Uni for a second degree and career change. It was fun while it lasted, but I live with pain and regret(sometimes) every day.
Love it, guys like this keep me in BIZ.
Something I WON’T be trying when the icefishing gets slow.
In the immortal words of Napoleon Dynamite
“You got, like, three feet of air that time. Can I try it really quick?” [Crash resulting in loss of manhood, Groans] “Dang it”!
Sure, cool jump, but let’s see him try it without the helmet.
Cool! You know, I’ve always thought sleds look like a lot of fun. It’s just too bad they don’t seem to be much use in, say, July or August, when the weather is half decent.
