Reader Tips

It’s a quagmire;

Democrats made the anti-Iraq crusade their top priority in the new Congress. Now, the 70-vote approval of the war by the Senate represents the breathtaking dimension of their failure.”

Three of history’s best charts.
Liberal Press Release: “Mr. Gore and Mr. Dion shared their thoughts on hating America and about the positions of both Canada and the United States here at the Bali talks. They also discussed their alarmist efforts to further bludgeon their media friends to help further their one world socialist agenda. One tax, one world.”

  1. Good evening ladies & gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. I’d like to take a moment to thank those who have expressed kind words on the matter of my adding this occasional DJ vector to the SDA transit, and to Kate for hosting my effort.
As a passing detail, I note that I have been through, literally, thousands of thumbnails of so-called Christmas videos at the various video search engine sites, and as you might expect, 99% of them are commercial dreck. But some aren’t; those I’ve saved for the week ahead.
Tonight we have Mr. Perry Como introducing a choir of provenience I cannot determine nevertheless performing a yeoman’s version of O Holy Night:

Note that these aren’t some sort of over-paid amusical pop-tarts, these are real people singing beautiful music.

  2. Google Daniel Estulin and bilderbergers also Alex Jones.
They have been documenting the Elitist movement to establish a global Feudal state for many years.
It’s not a joke. There is more behind this than you can imagine. There was a Bilderberger secret meeting just this past year and it was mentioned on CTV by Count Floyd (Lloyd Robertson the talking corps) himself. He mentioned that they were a very secretive society of the world’s most rich and powerful people.
I am not one for conspiracy theories, but this one has evidence and legs.
    Check it out.
You find many of the usual suspects’ names attached to this group.

  3. right? some ‘right’ Why are you bringing all your leftist anti-American gripes to a rightist Canadian blog. Most of us here have seen enough leftist knit-wittery Canadian style that we would welcome a little bit of that burr under your saddle that has you so worked up. Oh by the way I’m not one to call people liars but please check your facts. You are off a point or two.

  4. borat was in Bali?? huh, news to me. gore is a smarmy, self centered crooked thief IMO.
is that robert mclelland? well you old sod lets wish you and everyone else here a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year

  5. Yeah, ok, “right? some right” and “the critic’s critic” is Robert. Don’t bother interacting with him folks, the bouncers have known about him since he posted this here: tinyurl.com/22gsoe Please delete this comment when you’re cleaning up, Kate, I just wanted to give the folks a heads up.

  6. John West @ 12:41AM
John – you should check out Bilderberger – it is not what CTV might have you believe. And look at who has represented Canada over time.
“Secret”? – just because they don’t allow the media to have a presence there doesn’t mean it’s secret – although the media want you to believe that to assuage their ire. If I held a meeting on anything, I don’t think I would have the media present either. The media do not represent us, regardless of what they may think.

  7. right some right
    Sorry for your needless pain.

  9. Q: How does Al Gore’s household keep Christmas politically correct?
A: On Christmas, they give the presents TO the tree.

  10. “the NRA gun lobby. in fact the whole colossal lobby system. why does any civilian type need a firearm that can spew bullets at the rate of hundreds per minute?”
You explain why civilians need guns in the same post that you disparage a country that is free enough to allow it.
When you have a government that steals elections and takes away your rights as you claim that various republican administrations have, you use your god given right to overthrow them and set the country back on the correct path.
You either don’t really believe the accusations you make about your government or you are a completely gutless looser. The U.S. is one of the few countries in the world where governments don’t prevent the citizens from having the power to overthrow them if the situation becomes intolerable. So which is it, hyperbole or cowardice?

  11. We finally got polled!!!!
Last night – we were already in bed (the eastern pollsters must be working late) – that familiar 416 number popped up and my husband (over my protests not to answer) answers. By his pausing, I can tell it is a telemarketer. But no, it is a pollster.
The question – “what to you think is the most pressing issue facing Canada”.
So here are my thoughts – if that is the question – most people will start to think and off the top of their heads they will remember that they read or heard that the “environment” is a hot issue. so that is what they will say.
No friken wonder that comes up over and over again as the number one issue!!

  12. RCMP tase Stephen Hawking
“. Supt. McKinnon said Mr. Hawking displayed “combative behaviour” and the officer was “unable to successfully control” him using other techniques…”
Well not quite, but tasing a 68 year stroke victim while he was inside his car and then using the excuse that you are too stupid or incompetent to do otherwise is pretty pathetic. I guess the ground rules are that 68 year old stroke victims OUTSIDE their cars are fair game. Just being dumb enough to use that as an excuse should be a good enough reason to be fired.
Or maybe the RCMP should quit hiring quadriplegic lesbians of color under the employment equity programs.

  13. Dion: “Ow do you get tha peoples to tink you hactually cares abouts da environments.”
Gore: “Just remember, appearance is reality. It’s not important to actually accomplish anything as long as it looks like you care. Make a movie, scare the shit out everyone and start charging $100,000 per appearance. KACHING!”
Dion: “I can’ts gets da peoples to respects me.”
Gore: “Whatever Pepe Lepew, go get me some crab cakes.”
    Dion: “Yes Sir!”
    Gore: “Shut up.”

Gore has got that look of:
So tell me who is this guy again & can someone Paleeeze translate.

  15. right? some ‘right’:
Seeing how you were kind enough to share your twisted orthodoxy with me, I feel obliged to return the favor …and to give you some insights into your idealism you are probably ignorant of. First you ar mistaken in calling yourself a “liberal” you are NIT liberal…I’m a liberal and I think you’re social orthodoxiy is positively soviet. You are what can be described as the neo-left..which is a wimpy suburbanized form of Menshevik deconstructionist cultural marxism.
Everything you sited as being aversive ( or “right wing”, as you say) in society is a hallmark of traditional liberal democratic ideals or institutions…so you are essentially in favor of deconstructing the underpinnings of western law and democracy to usher in some pseudo-soviet ordered utopia.
as to your puerile optics of left-right paradigms, I can only mock sophistry with sophistry:
shining moments of the left wing:
Neo-Leftist nanny state sovietism wins converts because of its essentially wicked glamour, which appeals to and propagates all that is weak, broken and ugly in mankind:
If you are lazy, it offers a handout.
If you are stupid, it dumbs down your competition.
If you are worthless to society, it offers (false) self-esteem.
If you are chronically confused, it says that certainty is the REAL confusion.
If you are evil, it offers a denial of guilt.
If you are a liar, it offers a denial of the existence of truth.
If you are a coward, it offers its own false security.
If you are a slave to your more base desires, it calls these shackles, FREEDOM.
All this is promoted by doctrinaire Neo-Leftists from a platform of moral pretension, media hysteria, fear mongering and emotional mob politics.

  16. I nominate Gore for the Biggest Stuffed Turkey award. Dion gets the nod for the Scrawny Silly Goose award.
In the National Post today, Editorials on page A16. L Ian MacDonald writes an enlightening column, “LOOK WHO’S TALKING (EN ANGLAIS)”.
Pablo Rodriguez had his questions to Mulroney written in English which is not Pablo’s usual tongue, he rarely speaks English.
That aside, Lapierre could hardly wait to tell Duffy he knew about those questions, they were written by the CBC and given to the Opposition.
    COLLUSION, clear and simple.
The CBC cannot investigate itself either.
This is the sort of fifth column tactics going on against the Conservatives at every turn. It may be working if we believe the latest polling.
Funny how close to Banana Republics a Democracy can come.

  17. “trudeau to outline vision for Canada”
    T.O Star dec20/07
What would that be, to finish the Mess your father left us with?
And speaking of his father the Star makes ref: to his father in the article as JS being the son of
    Ex-Prime Minister.
The guy is dead, Should the ref: not be son of the late former PM?
the star seems to think that he is still alive, Makes you think Maybe he is & he is down in Cuba smoking a couple with Fidel.

  18. Saudis biggest group of al Qaeda Iraq fighters: study
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Most al Qaeda fighters in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia and Libya and many are university-aged students, said a study released on Wednesday by researchers at the U.S. Army’s West Point military academy.
The study was based on 606 personnel records collected by al Qaeda in Iraq and captured by coalition troops in October. It includes data on fighters who entered Iraq, largely through Syria, between August 2006 and August 2007.
The researchers at West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center found that 41 percent of the fighters were Saudi nationals.
Libyan nationals accounted for the second largest group entering Iraq in that time period with about 19 percent of the total, followed by Syrians and Yemenis each at 8 percent, Algerians with 7 percent and Moroccans at 6 percent.
On a per capita basis, Libyans accounted for the greatest share of foreign fighters entering Iraq. …- http://tinyurl.com/234la5

  20. Sorry hit post instead of Preview
    That should have Been JT
Every time i read something about J.Trudeau i get a little perturbed Gawd they treat him(Liberals,Media) like he is the Second coming of Christ, Not Damien(the Omen).

  21. WLMR;
It also helps if you believe that the Earth is flat. Or on fire. Or sinking.
    Right, Bollocks?

  22. “This is the sort of fifth column tactics going on against the Conservatives at every turn. It may be working if we believe the latest polling”
Regarding that poll – does anyone have information as to what the “question” was that prompted this result.
I truly believe that pollsters get the answers they want by how they frame the questions.
I have gone to Decima’s website, but cannot find the “question”.
I take expection to the fact that there are that many people that change their minds on a whim in such a short time.
Unless the exact same question is asked it is impossible to take polling data as accurate – no matter which side is ahead (just to be ahead of those who are going to say that I am just making that comment because the Tories have dropped).
Funny though – when the 42% poll was done it wasn’t published and was considered a “rouge” poll, yet this one is hearalled as gospel??
    Sigh……

  23. Dalton McGuinty returns to form: “McGuinty muses about cancelling health tax review.”
In a nutshell, here’s his basic method:
    1. Renege on a promise – particularly one that involves tax increases.
    2. Whip up, or try to whip up, a moralizing crusade as a distraction effort. Smokers are #1 on his misdirection list right now, but the target may change.
    3. Watch as the multitudes fall for it again.
I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that at least some of his inner circle finds this three-step amusing: “Throw ’em a crusade and watch yourself get let right off the hook. Never fails to work.”
I can’t say that this reflects very well on the brain functioning (or style of child-rearing, hint-hint) of many of my fellow Ontarians, but there we go. I hope that any McGuinty supporter of means takes some comfort out of paying higher taxes as a result.
Evidently, paying more to the gummit is easier for some than is admitting to being taken.

  24. PM Stephen Harper is going to be interviewed on the National tonight. There will also be a portion of that interview run on “Politics”.

  25. Daniel Pipes, Fund the Palestinians? Bad idea
…Relying on World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and other official statistics, Stotsky compares two figures since 1999: budgetary support aid provided annually to the Palestinian Authority and the number of Palestinian homicides annually (including both criminal and terrorist activities, and both Israeli and Palestinian victims). Graphed together, the two figures show an uncanny echo: In brief, each $1.25 million or so of budgetary support aid translates into a death within the year. As Stotsky notes, “These statistics do not mean that foreign aid causes violence; but they do raise questions about the effectiveness of using foreign donations to promote moderation and combat terrorism.”
The Palestinian record fits a broader pattern, as noted by Jean-Paul Azam and Alexandra Delacroix in a 2005 article, “Aid and the Delegated Fight Against Terrorism.” They found “a pretty robust empirical result showing that the supply of terrorist activity by any country is positively correlated with the amount of foreign aid received by that country” – i.e., the more foreign aid, the more terrorism.
IF THESE studies run exactly counter to the conventional supposition that poverty, unemployment, repression, “occupation,” and malaise drive Palestinians to lethal violence, they do confirm my long-standing argument about Palestinian exhilaration being the problem. The better funded Palestinians are, the stronger they become, and the more inspired to take up arms.

  26. This morning, from somewhere in Pakistan, Taliban Minister of Migration, Mohammad Omar, warned the United States that if military action against Iraq continues, Taliban authorities will cut off America’s supply of convenience store managers. And if this action does not yield sufficient results, cab drivers will be next, followed by Dell computer customer service reps, Motel 6 managers, and liquor store cashiers. Who knew it would come to this. It’s getting ugly.
    Merry Christmas

  27. I must have missed a beauty of a meltdown somewhere around 12:30 this morning! Someone go off their meds in the wee hours? Or maybe self medicating a little too intensely? Oh the things that go one while sane people are sound abed!
Anyway… I love that post by WLMR!
    Well, done Redux….. Here’s A Doozi !
Apparently the top Patriarch of The Catholic Church in Jerusalem blames the Jew for all the trouble and does not care very much if all the murder and savagery is being done by Arabs! Little things like abusing and murdering Christians….?
No wonder the Catholic Church is losing it’s faithful.
Is it just my imagination or does Christmas tend to bring out either the Best or the Worst in people?

  28. I dont know if its been mentioned above but did anyone else notice in the photo of Goracle and Dion at “dusty broom” that Goracle looks like he’s been sampling a bit too much of the local Bali sauce? Maybe its just a bad camera angle but the red face and the eyes not both looking the same direction….yeesh

  29. Police accused of ignoring hate crimes
City police are ignoring hate crimes — including death threats — directed at the city’s Islamic community, a local Muslim leader said yesterday.
The latest concern arises from reader comments left on the right-wing Westernstandard.ca website that urge the killing and expulsion of Muslims, said Syed Soharwardy, president of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada….

  30. From the Mysask.com new links, NDP quote to hold on to for 4 years when the next election is held….
Brad Wall, Premier: “Let’s not forget while they were spending 1.1 million in those ads and we had a nursing shortage, a doctor shortage and a wait times issue. I don’t think Mr. Calvert’s answer is acceptable.”
The new government has requested the NDP party pay back the 1.1 million it spent on pre-election ads. The NDP says it won’t be doing that, saying if the roles were reversed, it wouldn’t have a problem with it.
