If I am Stephen Harper, a non wealthy individual, I would want clear guidance on how it has been done and how it should be done and that will apply to PM’s, cabinets AND MP’s. Oh and Bureacrats and Governors General and Senators and Leitenant Governors (who are creatures of the Fed)
Now do all MP’s really want to go through this, since I believe the only way to do this would be to supena all Tax records of all the individuals. They can remain anonymous, but a study needs to be done, if it is of that importance. And that means it shoudl be done under Speakers Warrant so we dont have to worry about courts and due process….is this what the people want? Is this what politicans want?
Personally, either do it right or dont bother and deal with it if you have EVIDENCE of influence peddling.

So, bring forward a bill that mandates:
1) all MPs must fully disclose to the AG and the public their finances at the start of their term, and every year during and up to 10 years after their last year of term.
2) this applies to their spouses and children and anyone else within a reasonable arm’s length of each MP (names of non-family can be withheld but not the data).
3) Any increase on overall wealth of more than a reasonable amount is automatically investigated.
4) Any MP living beyond their means is automatically investigated.
All investigations are 100 percent public.
Breaches result in:
a) automatic expulsion and permanent ban from running for office for the person as well as criminal investigation
b) 250k fine for the MP’s party, for each breach.

Fascinating. See how it has moved from the original intention of the Liberals, which was to use Schreiber, to smear Mulroney, and link Mulroney to Harper (they had dinner together!!!) and therefore – the old Guilt By Association trick.
The Liberals are still trying to use the tactic of Guilt By Association. They’ve informed us that Peter MacKay once worked for the summer in a company in which Schreiber was involved. Heh – that’s really bad.
What they don’t realize is that there was only one agenda in this whole affair. Schreiber’s Agenda. It was simple: stay out of Germany.
So, he used the Liberals, because only the Liberals took his bait. The Liberals (Thibault) met with Schreiber earlier this year. Why? They worked out a deal – help us link Mulroney to Harper, smear Mulroney..and we’ll help you stay out of Germany.
The smear? That Mulroney made a deal with Schreiber two days before he left office as a PM. And took money. And, met with Harper to discuss helping Schreiber avoid extradition.
Unfortunately for the Liberals, none of it was true.
He’s never met or talked with Harper. There was no deal made with Mulroney two days before. No money exchanged two days before. What happened after, was with Mulroney as a private citizen.
Schreiber has achieved his goal. Extradition stopped for now, and possibly forever. He now, under oath, tell’s Schreiber’s Truth (which is always suspect). But, he doesn’t want lawsuits from Mulroney which he will lose.
And the Liberals, caught in his trap, can’t scream at him: But you promised to say bad things about Mulroney! You promised to link him to Harper! You promised us that if we helped you, you’d smear Mulroney and Harper!
They can’t say a thing. Now, the NDP have moved in for the kill. They are after the Liberals.

I’ve been following this circus for the past few weeks as most of you have and I keep thinking that KHS has been under deportation orders for a number of years (anybody out there know exactly how many/) during this time the Liberals seem to have been backing him,(Lalonde posting bail, why?) and now that the CPC is in power his extradition date was fast approaching! Could it be that if he is extradited to Germany and goes to trial perhaps there will be a lot of skeletons shaken out of the closet and the Liberals know whose bones they’ll be. You can make book that if the German government want KHS for tax evation, fraud, misappropriation of funds, etc, etc, then at the bottom of the cess pool you are going find the Liberals since they were the party in power during the period in question. Adscam is going to look like a monopoly game once the real story comes out about the Chretien/Martin years, and Canada and our MSM will look like a laughing stock on the world market.

Re the time lag between the Bloggers posting facts and MSM awareness.
The MSM did present background like KHS affidavit what they did not do was weave those tidbits into the information stream of published news. Rather they chose to follow the path that allowed them to gain the most mileage for the story and for the LIberal masters whose water they carry. Those same facts being integrated into the stream by the MSM much later so as not to preempt or otherwise allow the drama to be foreshortened.
Anyone with a sense of perspective should have and probably did see this for what it is and said so from the beginning.
Desperation, venality and just plain stupidity are evident to all who observe the LPC with any intellectual integrity or ability.

I personally find it quite laughable how you can use the fact that the
PM did not see any letters as a stepping stone to:
1. incompetence
2. cover up.
While it may have slipped your mind, it was under your Liberal
government that HRDC “lost” $1 billion and that millions were funneled
to Liberal sidekicks in AdScam. Both Chretian and Martin denied any
knowledge of something whose magnitude far outweighs a simple letter.
The fact is while the Liberals and parts of the MSM are wringing their
hands with glee as this issue as taken the ineptness of Dion and the
Liberals in general off the front page, this “bombshell” will wither
and die. The main witness is an accused fraudster whose is making it
clear he will do what it takes to stay in Canada and avoid extradition
to face numerous charges abroad.
I personally believe that Canada will see in the near future that this
issue will bring forth several skeletons from governments past,
including the decade of Liberal regime that saw our once great country
