Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

one of the best political speeches I’ve ever heard.
last 4 minutes is the crux of the message
Let’s not let this slip away. Phone your friends and remind and urge them to vote and get them to phone their friends.
The ndp have one big advantage in this, they are very good at getting out their vote.
We thought we had the last election in the bag and it slipped away. Let’s not take any chances.
This is where the SaskParty really slipped up – they needed to have outakes of this on Youtube this morning.
1.) Review of Speech:
Riders Tickets: Nice touch.
“…little people cowering…” – This isn’t “Mouseland”, it’s SASKATCHEWAN!
—————-
2.) “Stavaiye, Saskatchivan, Stavaiye!” — “ARISE, SASKATCHEWAN, ARISE!”
“You have nothing to loose but your chains.”
Excellent speech, I almost wished I lived there…for a second… so I could help Saskatchewan achieve the heights Alberta has achieved.
It’s your turn Saskatchewan, make the right decision!
As an Albertan, I’m jealous…
As an Albertan, I am really jealous
As an Al bertan, I am genuinely jealous
As a Yukoner I’m fiercely jealous…as a former resident of the beautiful Cypress Hills I am very proud. Please vote Sask Party and give Sask Hope! This man is an adult with an inspiring, exciting message.
I will be hoping for Mr. Wall and Sask party M.Ps all day tomorrow – and cheering out loud if they win. Landslide has a nice ring to it! Make it happen voters of Sask.
Wow.
His closely comments sent shivers down my spine.

His closing comments sent shivers down my spine.
Thanks Kate. It is the first and only speech I have listened to in this campaign. I did take in the debate and was Liberally disappointed. Brad Wall has paid his dues in opposition and deserves an opportunity to govern. Listening to this speech, I was inspired to believe that there is hope for a brighter tomorrow. I hope the people of Saskatchewan give Mr. Wall the chance to implement a new vision for this province. We have such potential. When you think that at the turn of the last century, Alberta (my original home province), and Saskatchewan were roughly the same size with roughly the same population of predominately European immigrants. We had similar resources and climate. Really, by and large a century later the main difference between the two has been the type of governance. Calvert misjudged the people of Saskatchewan, instead of despising Alberta, we admire them and aspire to be more like them. Had it not been for a steady diet of socialism in this province, we too would have no debt, good roads and well-paid, stay-at-home health professionals. Like someone said before me, I hope Brad Wall does have a hidden agenda!
As someone who grew up in the Cypress Hills and now lives in Brad Wall’s home riding, I am truly proud to hail from this province and live here today when I hear him speak. He is an inspiration and will do great things for this province.
We all have our part to do to make sure that the Sask Party forms government tomorrow and to spread this speech to everyone we know:

Brad is an amazing fellow. I am proud to know him. Today is voting day
-VOTE EARLY
-VOTE OFTEN!!!
Well,…Vote Early!
I hope for change in Sask. you deserve it and the province has no where to go but up.
Great audio!
“One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”
Abraham Maslow

As a Manitoban, I demand my premier to beg for more equalization payments.
Sorry — it’s all I can do, since the bozos around here decided to re-elect Fidel Doer, guaranteeing we fall further and further behind Saskatchewan.
It’s time for Saskatchewan to shed the yolk of socialist governance.
Do not make the same mistake we here in Ontario did last month and return socialists to govern.
Go Brad Wall and The Saskatchewan Party, I wish you success!
For those who don’t have the time to listen to the whole clip, we’ve got the last 5 min up: http://no-libs.com/?p=2040
Hmmmm ….
Hope beats Fear……
Tissues for Tears……
I’m not a big fan of the Rah Rah stuff or the emotional string tugging …. but I admit that it’s more appealing and cetainly less insulting than the Vote For ME Because change is scary messages of the SOCIALISTS.
Didn’t Kalvert and co. get elected in the first place by saying Vote for Me because I’m not Grant Devine?
Issues for Ears ……?
As someone from B.C. I feel sorry for any province that elects an NDP government. Taking care of bussiness is what a government should do but the NDP (regardless of what they say) do not like bussiness.
I will be watching the vote count with great interest tonight as will many other western Canadians.
Good luck, people of Saskatchewan. As of today, your future looks really bright!
Best wishes from your envious eastern neighbour. Show us the way!
Wait a minute. The Toronto Star says that NDP behind in polls despite economy being very strong in Saskatchewan. It’s just Alberta making them look bad, right? (sarc off)
Oh no! He said ‘God Blesss Saskatchewan’ at the end of the speech. I wonder what the CBC will have to say about that after he is elected by a landslide today.
I am in Alberta, but am following the election fairly closely since my oldest brother sold the farm in Alberta and bought a farm near Melville last spring. I know that the three adults in his family will be going to vote (not for the NDP!) today. They were not even residents of Sask last election. I believe that Albertans having moved to Sask recently (or returned Sask expats) will really help push the Sask party over the top today.
Yeah, yeah Brad’s a great guy…blah blah blah. However our NDP friends have bigger sheep to fry or what ever the NDP do to sheep in their fairy tails. Karwacki made a fool out of Lorne in the debate. Heckler Dave made Lorne look like he’d filled his pants with NDP policy. Karwacki could easily defeat Quennell in Meewasin. Karwacki with zero seats got more time than any other leader; imagine what kind of coverage he will get it he gets a whopping one seat! So here is the best case NDP scenario. 250-300 NDP bite the bullet and vote for Roger Parent. Karwacki does not get a seat. Quennell and Karwacki run in Riversdale when Lorne retires and goes to BC like all good former NDP premiers do. Quennell beats Karwacki in the Riversdale bi-election and Frank’s your uncle. Easy as pi when you think about it.
Words are just words. The inertia of sixty years of socialism will take years to turn around. Especially when most people think third way socialism (gov’t/private partnerships) is almost free enterprise. Iron and clay don’t bond well.
I know of two new votes for the SK Party today in Moose Jaw. Friends moved back home to retire and be close to family. Also, they are Harper supporters.
Eric
I’m guessing your brother did OK financially when he sold the farm in AB and purchased one in SK. If the socialists get turfed in SK now, he’s likely to see his new farm skyrocket in value again. When he sells that one, though, will he have to move to MB?
Seriously, the thing that scares me for the people of SK is the general polling leading up to the election that showed the SP so far ahead. How many people won’t bother voting because they have the idea that it’s a done deal?
Hopefully the SaskParty will be given a resounding mandate today to fix the province.
Hope Beats Fear
you are right kate that should be on YouTube a very inspiring speach to the voters of your province.
Brad Wall is correct in saying Hope Beats Fear & that is not just the Sask NDP. Hope Beats Fear applies to all old wornout political(Fed Libs) parties that have been playing the Fear Message for too long. The wornout political parties play that card because that is all they have left, To play on the Fears of people that have lost all Hope.
Break a leg Sask Party, Kick Ass.
It would be ironic if Saskatchewan ends up with an actual Conservative Premier, unlike Alberta…
G’luck folks.
test
I’ve always had HOPE for this province! That is THE reason I “”stayed behind”” (i.e. didn’t go Albertan) for I figured eventually some great things gotta happen! I also thought Hermie would form the last gov’t, but again, it was an urban/rural split. Sigh, so here we are again, “hoping” for a change of policies and vision that will allow the dedicated Saskatchewanians to finally prosper at our own will, rather than busting your butt while watching others with outstretched hands raking in the social benefits.
Best speech I’ve ever heard. To be honest, the Saskparty was short of my support up until now. Only problem is I reside in walsh acres-Regina!
Rob R
Don’t worry about the Sask. Party faithful not bothering to go to the polls.
We have waited four long years for this day to come that we would have the chance to punt the Communists into the hinter lands.
I remember like it’s yesterday…four years ago, waking up in shock that the former leader of the Sask. Party, Elwin Hermanson, had blown the election with one innocent comment about privatizing the Crown Corporations if the right offer came along.
I don’t ever want to experience that sick feeling in my stomach knowing the far left socialist NDP was going to be governing for another four years and ruining Saskatchewan in the process.
So again, don’t worry, we’ll be there!
EyesWide: typically, former NDP premiers join the Federal Liberal caucus.

“Seriously, the thing that scares me for the people of SK is the general polling leading up to the election that showed the SP so far ahead. How many people won’t bother voting because they have the idea that it’s a done deal?”
People voting for the Sask.Party wouldn’t DARE miss this vote. This government has lasted 8 yrs too long already.
Its the NDP vote that will suffer today for the following reasons:
1. socialists always give up
2. socialist know that they are full of B.S., and now that their facade has faded away, they won’t want people to know that they were so misguided for so long.( proof: try to find someone who will admit to eating up Al Gores B.S., these folk are ducking their heads and hiding when asked to support their postion)
Re: the future of forLorne Culvert
As I have stated in a previous thread — he will rest for a while, then run for Moderator of the United Church (of St. Tommy and the New NDP Apostles).
Bet your bottom Election Market Dollar!
“Words are just words. The inertia of sixty years of socialism will take years to turn around.”
What’s that hoss, another entitled to your entitlements rationalization for farmers to keep their faces in the trough?
Best speech you ever heard? Please.
Sorry, I have to dock him for his reference to “Saskatoon,Canada” instead of “Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
“Hope beats Fear”.. everytime.
Good phrase, should get it on a tee-shirt.
Anyone who’s been around awhile knows it too.
Nothing ventured nothing gained, He who dares wins, etc.
Hope beats all! Let’s not let our guard down on the following. 1: Star Phoenix. 2: Regina Leader Post. 3: CBC and Radio Canada. The kremlin has powerful ties!!!
