  1. Answer: Since there are still people who believe that international communism is still a viable option.

  2. On the other hand, all that talk about the Sask Party being a revival of Grant Devine’s Conservatives at least gets them into the eighties. Maybe Calvert’s successor will get really modern and start talking about “hidden agendas” like Chretien did in the nineties. Slow progress among the progressive.

  3. Someone should look up the Star’s editorial responding to Paul Martins “$100 billion” tax cut back in the 1990s.
I wonder if they struck the same chord.

  4. I wish Dion’s Libs would take this editorial to heart. Can you imagine them campaigning on a platform of tax hikes? That’d be like Christmas every day!

  5. I dunno. I like the word reveller. It’s still quite common, usually preceded by the word drunken.
Plus in a political context the use of the word “party goer” or “party people” would be confusing between political “party” and a booty-shakin house “party”.
So, I think reveller is quite apt. That there is some good english.

  6. Alistair,
You took the words out of my mouth.
This could only make sense to a dipper is so economically and logically illiterate that giving property tax rebates to people who don’t own property to tax seems reasonable.

  7. Tax cuts are OK if you have another source for funding. We like our social programs and civil services. How do we pay for these services. I remember the Devine years when taxes were cut then a 2% flat tax was implimented to pay for the shortfall. I hope we don’t fall into that rutt again

  8. I’m not familiar with Saskatchewan provincial politics that much, but it appears, from this link,. two things:
    1. That people in Saskatchewan envy the more successful Albertans – we don’t want “Albertan style” whatever.
    2. The list of loosers presented by the NDP suggests a TV ad where they are holding a loaded pistol to the head of a baby and sayiong: Vote for me and no-one gets hurt.

  9. Every newspaper and media outlet is supporting you tories and all you worry about is the CBC. If you lose this election don’t blame the media.
