News of Glen McGregor’s non-story comes at a time when the relationship between Liberal-friendly media and the Liberal Party is assumed “business as usual” in Canadian media.

And the MSM’s army of fact-checkers still hasn’t corrected the spelling of Steve Janke’s surname.
Journalists have ethics? Huh. Funny, I don’t remember hearing anything about a Professional Association for Journalists which imposes a code of ethics on it’s members. I wonder when that got formed.
Hopefully, tomorrow there will be a story about Cherniak and his relationship with the liberal party. Oh wait a minute, does Jason’s self-gratification ramblings meet the requirements for a political blog?
Ethics in the media-a cbs sports producer has been charged with trying to bribe a young boy to have sex. Wonder how many stories he produced condeming various sports stars for perceived or real indiscretions. Those in glass houses —
How many other tv media heads have secrets they don’t want aired, but have no problem airing everyone elses dirty linen.
“And the MSM’s army of fact-checkers still hasn’t corrected the spelling of Steve Janke’s surname.”
Wouldn’t that require the media to do something other than write opinion pieces, like actually do investigative journalism? These embarrassing articles only go to show that the speed of communication has only allowed journalists to become much lazier than their heroes of yesteryear.
Journalists used to have to research their stories. Now, they just do book reviews and scan the net for interesting pieces of info so they can just shoot from the hip. Must be a hard life. Most bloggers — like Steve JANKE — do more that on their time off… with NO pay.
It’s that vast right wing conspiracy thing again. Good to know it’s p—ing them off.
Unlike most journalists who work in the mainstream media — the “MSM” in blogger parlance — bloggers are not constrained by ethics rules that would keep them from taking contracts from the government they write about.
Unlike most journalists who work in the mainstream media, bloggers are not constrained by a liberal bias that sees them prefer an elaborate advertising contract ripoff scheme to an open and honest contract where money is paid based on real work performed.
Aw, the Liberal whiners are just peed off because they had to spend $360 million on Adscam corruption and they still lost the election.
Still, it’s interesting that the Crooked Liberals and their MSM friends now think that a measly $20000, or $350, is enough to change the outcome of the next election, and probably alter the course of history of the entire free world.
What a powerful blogger that Joan is! Go Joanie!
I’m sure this is all part of the ‘hidden agenda’ and Rove is probably behind it somehow even though he’s American.
for the ungawdly sum of $350?! you can’t even run a decent ad for that piddly amount. It’s for shame, the MSM (in blogger parlance), just doesn’t get it. Now is Jank pronounced as yank with a j? I have always just referred to him as plain old Angry.

HA, Cherniak got CBC’s Don Newman to apoligize for something they said, not sure what though? Anyone know? Or Care?
And I suppose all those Federal and Provincial govt. ads that appear in newspapers that pay the salaries of the holier than thou commentaters dont sway the columns they write.THE COMMENTATERS ARE HIRED FOR THEIR POLITICAL BIAS!Like the people that work for the CBC.
What if the Blogging Tories decided to have a gala event where members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery where invited to give self-depricating speeches?
I’d pay good money to see Susan Delacourt make a fool of herself.
What about all the Liberal appointees to the Senate and the last 2 Governors General who were Journalists or involved in the media.Typical Liberal Behavior Do as i say and not as i do.
The MSM get paid for their services in the form of expensive political ads and frequent appointments to retired journalists in the service of the Liberal government in places like the senate and diplomatic make work postings.
There are few conservative supporters enjoying those kind of perk.
I pointed out this was a non-story on Monday. McGregor is barking up the wrong tree. It seems a lot of Libloggers are happy to accept the suggestion that Tintor was paid to blog even though that’s clearly not the case here.
Most curious people in Canada don’t listen to MSM but if they do hear something on the CEEBEECEE or the other outfit, or read something in a Asper newspaper; they skim the spin and then check in at sda, Angry in the GWN, Captain’s Quarters, Jack’s Newswatch, Shotgun, Blogging Tories or Fox News for the facts. MSM journalists lost their credibility a long time ago…as Mary T says during the PET era they lied to readers by omitting the facts that the Canadian people (who were paying the CBC writers) were entitled to be informed about.
Is McGregor not the same fellow who lived inside the compound at OKA, and clearly suffered from the “Stockholm syndrome”? Did his actions inside the compound not then lead to the discrediting of his reporting as it was openly critical, bias and anti-military? The guy is suspect.
I don’t see the comparison some are making with Cherniak…Kinsella would be the better comparison IMHO.
Looks like a double whammy to me. The dinosaur media got to attack 2 of its favourite targets, conservatives, and the new media. What a non-story this is.
Gimbol: Delacourt makes a fool of herself every time she shows up on Donny Newman’s Politics Lib Fest.
When it comes to the Ottawa Citizen it is one of the traditional Liberal leaning rags, they deny it and think they’re balanced but readers know different.
Seldom put our Prime Minister on front page, he’s lucky to make page four even when he attended the Vimy Memorial.
Tintor had better go after her accusers.
OMIGAWD! You mean we bloggers could get PAID to have opinions???!!! And all this time I’ve been giving it away for free.
PD
McGregor is a media troll of the worst kind. Absolutely without scruples. He stiffed a large group of people a year ago who went out of their way to help him with truth in a series he did for the Ott Cit, and hung them out to dry in the paper.
That’s right! It was an article on gun owners that MacGregor did, and then turned the knife on them. Weasel.
Well we know for a fact Garth Turner gets paid for his blogging and his roadshows…where’s the Citizen outrage at that?
MSM your bias and duplicity are showing again…or is it just a slow news day?
I commented on this on my blog a couple of days ago. It’s an almost comically bad story. Strange though that Ms Tintor hasn’t bothered to post a rebuttal on her site. Numerous trolls have been by to wish her ill however.
She’s done nothing wrong and should state that clearly.
What a strange, indoctrinated country we are. Former journalists who worked for years at our multi-billion $ taxpayer-funded Lib-promo Broadcasting Corporation television network have been appointed to the Senate — big salary for life — and two have been successively named Canada’s Governor General — big salary, spectacular digs — without any complaints from journalists.
But when a blogger who has probably about one ten-thousandth the audience of these former journalists-now-highly-paid-members-of-the-government is paid an absolutely trifling sum for her communication skills, it’s what, a crime against non-partisanship?
Are bloggers the untouchable caste?
It’s a sick joke. If there is a story here, it’s about certain Canadians who wouldn’t notice hypocrisy if it crawled up their ass swinging a tire chain.
Those who slag McGregor have no clue what they’re talking about. He is an investigative reporter who has broken many stories about the Liberals. And the claim that he was at Oka is simply false, as is the rest of that statement.
Asking if “citizen journalists” are on party payrolls — any citizen journalists, any party — is perfectly legitimate.
The double standard of some political party sheeple makes me puke.
oh no, this person got a government contract and did stuff before during and might do something after it.
If I wanted a job writing and had a blog, I think in most cases I would actually want to point that out. I want to write for you, this is what I can do.
