Supporting The Troops

Candace at Planet X writes;

I’ve received an email from MaryAnn in Germany (Soldiers Angels) and she has been speaking with the Canadian Captain responsible for our guys in Germany. This past week has been a particularly rough one, and messages from Canadians would certainly cheer them up. Currently we have Captain Trevor Greene who was brutally attacked this weekend as well as Pte. Miguel Chavez & Sgt. Darren Haggerty injured in the accident last week. The accident victims are in stable condition and on regular wards.

Head on over to Planet X and see what you can do.

  1. Stand with Israel. Israel has been on the frontline for years. Reuters will not use the word terrorists.
    Well, Reuters here it is: “Islamic Jihad terrorists”. +

  2. I fully support our troops in Afghanistan and I know most Canadians do as well despite the polls that have recently been published.
    The Liberals committed us to Afghanistan and for better or worse we are there for at least 9 mos. However, MacKay, O’Connor or Harper needs to clearly explain to the Canadian people why we are there. Once the 9mos rolls around there should be a debate in the House of Commons but Canadians should be able to have there say as well. This has become a bad world and Canada needs to do it’s part to fight the enemy. It is not acceptable to sit on the sidelines and criticize. Not if we want to be part of the world community.

  3. I can’t understand Jack Layton’s argument. He wants to debate a decision that has already been taken. If Layton wanted to show leadership, he would spearhead a multipartisan effort to explain the Canadian role in Afghanistan, that we are doing our part on the war on terrorism, that we have made tremendous progress already (despite the axe attack) in the hearts and minds campaign. Finally, Canadians should be told that withdrawing now would send a terrible signal to terrorists and our allies, that the West, particularly Canada, hasn’t the stomach to take these scumbags on. That would only spur them on. We must show overwhelming force to the terrorists and show the people on the ground, the true victims of scumbags, that we are not only there to help them, but we can also protect them. Alas Mr Layton will not show that leadership, because his party represents pacifism, not multilateralism.
