Peaktalk, on the media backlash against Paul Martin.
Blackrod on the old holdouts.
Michael Ignatieff’s secret life.
A piece on Alan Cutler. If you haven’t already, I strongly urge you to read this older one at the Western Standard from the “Libranos” issue.
Linda Williamson has noticed Paul Martin’s penchant for labelling millions of us as UnCanadian;
The sickening thing is that Martin is telling voters that his opponents — and by extension, the millions now considering voting for them — represent un- Canadian, “far-right,” anti-democratic, anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-human- rights and (gasp!) American views. And that the only Canadian way to stop the onslaught is to back a party that will make a drastic change to our Constitution by removing the limited power of Parliament to overrule the courts.

It’s a quagmire.

Veterans Turn Their Back on GG In Protest
Updated: Fri. Nov. 11 2005 5:54 PM ET
It was meant to be a solemn occasion to honour fallen soldiers, but a small number of veterans chose Friday’s Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa to launch their protest against Canada’s new Governor General.
As Michaelle Jean laid a memorial wreath on the War Memorial, the words “Turn, turn,” were called out, and about 25 people, led by veterans, turned their backs on the Governor General.
It was meant as a statement against the newly appointed Jean, who the protesters believe has separatist sympathies.
“We just don’t believe the governor general they’ve chosen is suitable,” Frank Laverty, the 80-year-old veteran leading the protest told CTV. He said her appointment was an insult to veterans.
“We know she has toasted independence by revolution, independence by revolution for Quebec,” Laverty said.
As governor general, Jean has declared her loyalty to Canada and denied claims she is sympathetic to the separatist cause. Her sister, however, is a prominent separatist in Quebec. >>

Are you sure those are block urinals?
aren’t…
sheesh.
Don’t ask me why, but I watched a few minutes of CBC Sunday this morning (Evan Solomon & Carole MacNeil).
They had a clip of Bill O’Reilly interviewing Rachel Marsden. O’Reilly asked Marsden if the CBC was pro-Liberal, and she said “some things never change.”
Back in the CBC studio, MacNeil said that wasn’t fair. Solomon kept telling us to keep in mind that that was just O’Reilly’s opinion (actually, it was what Marsden said).
They then invited viewers to write in and tell them if CBC is biased or not.
Have at ’em, I say!
By the way, they had with them something called a Friendship Flag, which was a melding of the U.S. and Canadian flags. They made a few disingenuous remarks about it being OK, but your could tell that they were appaled by it. Evidently the flag hangs off the front porch of the Prez of The Canadian Snowbird Assoc. They read a shrill letter from some goof who said the org obviously wants to merge the two countries, when anyone with a brain knows that it means that these people spend a lot of time in both countries, and admire both.
The flag looked really nice and I wouldn’t mind having one – supposedly they are on sale in Toronto.
Those are bunkers.
The conservatives are going to have to fight them hand to hand in the streets. In our cities. In Canada.
Who is/are the saboteur(s)inside the Trojan Horse, inside the Liberal bunker?

Tories gain ground in 905 ridings
…Throughout the horseshoe of so-called 905 ridings that lie east, north and west of Toronto, voters are deserting the Liberals…..there’s a new willingness to try out the Conservatives even among leftish voters who fear Harper is just too right wing…..The reasons for this volatility have to do with the region’s social complexity and its rapid growth. In terms of both ethnicity and class, it spans the spectrum. New immigrants and seventh-generation Canadians, truck drivers and nuclear engineers, all live cheek by jowl…
…Still, there are a few bright spots for the Liberals. In a spanking new Bramalea subdivision, Karamjit Sarai explains that she will certainly vote Liberal again. The reason? She says her local Liberal MP, Gurbax Singh Malhi, is “for Punjabi people.” “All the people here are Punjabi,” she says, pointing around her neighbourhood. “All will vote for Malhi.”…

Just saw Boolinda on CTV’s Question Period.
Seems that Boolinda is less than impressed with Harper’s supporting cast. Last time I looked, he’s down 1 dumb blonde, so where’s the problem?
Likewise, Boolinda said Harper had never run a business in private life, had never created jobs …
I was hoping that Craig Oliver would respond with “so if he had a rich daddy, that would be OK with you?”
Wow that picture is a brilliant metaphor for their social agenda in the cities. Condominium basements, we should live shoulder to shoulder, one big happy family. A condo association to oversee our non-property rights. Ownership control by the collective, or at least those who control the condo board.
As with the Lib social engineers, the architects of this project seem to have been unable to finish. So what’s left, a lot of holes and no structure.
Could it be they had no buyers??

Good article by Linda Williamson, “Duck! It’s an A-bomb”. Martin and his liberal henchmen must really think we are stupid and that we need to be fed this crud. Way to go Paulie… give hime enough rope and he will hang him self…
New Conservative ad with the clip of Paul Martin admitting that he approved the attack ads.
Reuters: Another dispatch from the Front; the back, the rear, & the middle have fallen off AdScam Martin’s one-horse shay.
This just in: another report from our Trojan horse burrowed within the Liberal bunker: Martin’s rear is exposed to a frontal lob.., er attack. Asking PP & Willy Graham to send reinforcements (sic). We await further dev…lop…ments (H/T Jean C.). Meanwhile, Paul Jr., says, “to be honest” yuk…yuk… to be honest, yuk. Surely Paul means: To be, or not to be (H/T W.S.). But, not to digress… digress… Back to Paul’s “positive announcement”…
Most of those seats are in and around the city of Montreal, long a bedrock of Liberal support. But local polls now show even this bastion is fast crumbling, forcing Martin to spend two days campaigning there.
“Martin tries to save the furniture,” read the main headline in the French-language La Presse newspaper on Sunday.
The lowest number of Quebec seats the Liberals have ever won is 13 and the party could sink below that level as it is squeezed by both the Conservatives and the separatist Bloc Quebecois, which wants independence for the province.
“I reckon we’ll win 12 seats,” one of the top Liberal organizers in Quebec told Reuters. Even that number could be optimistic, since there is little evidence of enthusiasm in Montreal for the Liberals.
When Martin addressed a rally to support Heritage Minister Liza Frulla on Sunday, there were barely 40 people in the room. Other Martin rallies over the weekend attracted similarly meager attendance.
Frulla — who won her seat by just 72 votes in the June 2004 election — acknowledged she had a battle on her hands.
“It was very difficult (in 2004) and it’s still very hard, very hard here on the ground,” she told reporters, complaining that unnamed opponents were resorting to “dirty tricks”.
To add to Martin’s challenges, Conservative leader Stephen Harper is now campaigning in normally pro-Liberal areas where his party has not won seats for years and has regularly attracted several hundred people to his rallies.
Martin has found it hard to put across his campaign platform and on Sunday, after making a speech promising to boost funding to cities, he expressed frustration that reporters immediately pressed him on the Liberals’ woes.
“To be honest, I have some difficulty understanding the context of your question. I have just made a very positive announcement,” he said. >> http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1558499/posts
the new conservative add should get a emmy. they should run it back to back with liberal ones
Paul, look behind you. Your frontal lob has arrived. K?
What’s New
January 15, 2006 – Over at Progressive Bloggers, TDH has been informed that one irate reader has accused this website of being a plant for the Conservatives. In response to such a humourous accusation, we’ll be brief.
February will mark TDH’s 10th year of activity within politics, and more specifically, involvement with the Liberal Party of Canada. Now, while it is true that we let our membership lapse last year, and haven’t been active for the past 2-3 years, our Liberal identification has never waivered.
That being said, a Paul Martin defeat will be the best thing to happen to this party in a long time. He and his supporters have been a cancerous presence within the organization for the better part of a decade, and their conquer and divide tactics and mentality are finally catching up to them.
Like we said last night to a reader, let’s first get rid of Martin. Then, we can focus our efforts on returning the party to its former glory.>>

are they little hideouts AKA Sadam Husseins rat hole for Alphoso, Jean and the Adscamers to hide in till the next election.???

Peter W. had a great piece in todays Sun. Re Belinda, does anyone remember Dief’s quote when one of his MP’s crossed the floor. Something about the intelligence on both sides being improved. Can’t wait for the headlines Jan 24, and the long face of Susan Murray. Will TO have anyone at the cabinet table, or will they start saying, WE WANT IN. If it is a majority for Harper, how many high profile libs who get elected, decide, within a few months, that they want to spend more time with their family and quit. Are the rumors true that some big libs, seeing the writing on the wall, are out hoping to lose, rather than sit in opposition.
“He and his supporters have been a cancerous presence within the organization for the better part of a decade, and their conquer and divide tactics and mentality are finally catching up to them.”
Not just Paul M., but change that to read “He, Chretien and their supporters have been a cancerous presence in Canada … ”
The peaktalks guy is nothing more than a lying appologist. The only reason the media has changed colours is because of the blogs. They would still be backing these slime if it wasn’t for people like you Kate. The blogoshpere is keeping the MSM’s feet to the fire. Duffy’s show of backbone was cute but just a show for the proletariat.
Here’s a tip:
Vote Conservative if you…
1. Believe in a stronger military
2. Believe in a Christian Canada
3. Believe in protecting our children from the Gay Agenda
4. Believe in protecting our cities from Muslim attacks
How’s that for a tip? I know I’m preaching to the converted, but that’s the part of the platform that seems to wrk for me.
PMPM wanted to moon us, and approved a picture of his own ass, however they ran the picture of the hole in the ground because no one at the web site can tell the difference. Really. I would not make this up.
From the link to http://blackrod.blogspot.com/2006/01/election-madness-pandemic.html
Today, they’re singing from the same hymnbook because now they’re both claiming the ad was really intended to attack the suggestion that Canada’s military should be dispersed instead of concentrated in one place. Lame. Very, very lame. And very, very transparent.
Well, Martin said he was going to be transparent. Another promise kept. heh

David Dingwalls severance package…How Much?
The Libs arent talking, guess its none of our business, were just taxpayer fools who have to pay for it.
Hey FREE – what’s with the cognitive dissonance?
“The peaktalks guy is nothing more than a lying appologist.”
Well, apologist…perhaps: he does make a systematic defence of the more classic conservative positions. Lying would, however, negate his position check out http://www.tcsdaily.com/article.aspx?id=011106E to better understand the distinctions. How does he differentiate himself from Kate, who you seem to praise? Perhaps you are applying inconsistent standards?
The only reason the media has changed colours is because of the blogs. They would still be backing these slime if it wasn’t for people like you Kate. The blogoshpere is keeping the MSM’s feet to the fire.
A simplistic assessment, since much depends on other factors there is at least a correlation in general; probably a causal connection in this instance only due to the manifest incompetence of the Liberals.
Duffy’s show of backbone was cute but just a show for the proletariat.
This is unlikely, since his response was wholly atypical. As for your reference to the proletariat my, how elitist 🙂

Oh, but that is the Dems game in the States too – the victim card, the politics of devisiveness.
For Liberals/Dems to have power, minions of victims with agendas must be created, recognized and fostered. What’s loyalty to the mother country matter when it’s votes in the short term that you need? “The other” is a card to be played. Libs/Dems don’t really care if you are Tookie Williams or Osama Bin Laden’s vote because like Swiss bankers it is only the deposit that matters, not the source.

David f****ng Dingwall! There was an article in the Vancouver Sun stating that his severance package negotiation was ongoing. What the F***? I thought this deal was done. I thought because he quit, that there was to be no compensation. Do not let this get swept under the carpet. Keep us informed.
“…There was an article in the Vancouver Sun stating that his severance package negotiation was ongoing…”
What’s missing here is the dollars spent on severance packages paid to civil servants like Dingwall, only for them to return to government jobs a few years later.

Americanization and Hillier’s Race War
The head of Canada’s armed forces is trying to start a race war. This general Hillier, who weeks ago explained the intensification of Canada’s military campaigns in Afghanistan with comments like: “These are detestable murderers and scumbags, I’ll tell you that right up front. They detest our freedoms, they detest our society, they detest our liberties… We are the Canadian Forces, and our job is to be able to kill people.”>>

From CP News – More Libaranos payoffs in Quebec?
“A Sherbrooke Liberal candidate’s campaign was itself accused of dirty tricks this weekend by a local paper whose reporter posed as a student and was offered a cash payment on election day for their help.
