Whether you loved him or hated him, you sure couldn’t ignore him.
Reading his obituary at ctv, I learned more about his troubled life. That he could rise above horrendous abuse in childhood to reach for the stars is a tribute to his determination. While he had some serious problems with drugs and alcohol, he overcame them and continued doing what he loved best.
Rest well, Richard.

Comedians are people who translate life’s moments of anguish, anger, frustration, weakness and failure into moments of humor, honesty and insight. Watching Richard Pryor perform years ago was to understand how common his life’s moments were similar to the life moments of others distant from his hollywood existence. He was far from perfect and certainly not a good role model candidate for clean living. But in his sometimes brutally honest humor we laughed, cringed, shared and thought.
He was 65? he sure did,nt look that old he sure could hide his age
I think you are seeing old video clips, he was in a wheelchair and couldnt speak for the last year. he looked more like 85
Never the same after the free-basing accident in the 80’s. Coke and Flame…Bummer!!!
