As mentioned earlier, I’m out of here in a few hours – just tying up loose ends getting ready to leave early tomorrow AM. It’s a good time for it, too – with temps of -17C and a brisk wind. Luckily, I hadn’t packed away my drinking clothes. Be good to my guest bloggers – If I can get online I may check in a couple of times while I’m gone.
Emailed one of my staunchly Democrat friends in the US that I was spending a week in the Bahamas on a boat with a bunch of right wingers. He replied;

Man! If I’d known Kate was going on the WS cruise, I would have made sure to get a ticket.
It’s that cold over there? Over here on the East Coast it’s above freezing. No snow- just lots of rain so far. I remember the Sask. winters very well. Different along the Fundy coast. Lately it’s been like Victoria and Vancouver.
Anyway, Kate, do enjoy your fun time. Finally tomorrow I myself take a day off. Thirteen consecutive full days makes a day off feel like a climax.

The Economist issue out this or next week is dissing PMPM and saying another Liberal minority will be bad for the country. David Frum couldn’t stop chuckling. It was on Duffy tonight. Had a Martin apologist try to dismiss it, but even the NDPer on the panel had to agree. Funny how the Libs love that mag when it goes on about how cool Canada is.
The Economist has to bug PMPM very much, they gave him the
Mr. Dithers moniker and he’s supposed to be some kind of
economic guru. Right. It’s pretty sad when your peers point and
laugh at you.

The debate about old-versus-new media can get a bit heavy. Meet the bloggers who are getting their own back, and having a laugh.
“But there isn’t any rule against copying stuff off a website, is there?”
So pleaded The Daily Mail when caught red-handed back in 2002, having run a feature called Blue Peter Saints & Sinners. The editorial process at the Mail turned out to be: a visit to nostalgia site TV Cream; a use of the “cut” and “paste” features found in web browsers and desktop publishers; then hiding when they got found out….
Happily, a sense of humour is a lot cheaper than a crack team of legal hawks.
And so it’s with a mischievous grin that Guido Fawkes, Recess Monkey and Tim Worstall have announced the inaugural and far from prestigious Press Plagiarist Of The Year Award.
The Sun, The Sunday Times and The Guardian are among those in the dock, the teasing is relentless, and the name-and-shame approach might be just the ticket.
