Video here at Political Teen. I know there are some photo/graphics techies in the audience (Sean McCormick, I’m talking to you) – can anyone isolate the black lettering at the bottom of the image?
Update – A Winnipeg blogger gets ‘er done. CNN states it’s a technical glitch, but has launched an investigation. Maybe, but it sounds like a strange one. From Drudge – A rival network news director asks: “When has an ‘X’ ever aired on CNN before? Who had the graphic sitting in the key signal? Who generated the ‘X’?”

I saw this video on several sites today with no X.
Correction. I watched again and saw it flash once at 1.28.02 and ends at 1.28.04 so it is only 2 frames in length or 1/15 of a second. A negative image of the frame would show the black letters.
I took the image you put on your site and tried to enhance it with the gimp. The black lettering unfortunately is too close in color to the black of the background ticker to be able to read the lettering. Does anyone know where I can find a higher resolution image that is not .jpg?

While Vice President Dick Cheney was delivering a speech about the Iraq War, CNN flashed a giant “X” across the screen.
… This isn’t my area of expertise, so I’m not going to weigh in on whether this was a not-so-subtle political jab or just a biz…

CNN was only testing. They’d prefer a Swastika but need someone with a little more hair and mustache action happnin’ on the screen.
