OTTAWA � Conservative Deputy House Leader Jason Kenney today released a letter to Conservative Leader Stephen Harper from Randy Dash, Senior Editor and Manager of Operations of dMAX Media in Ottawa. The letter summarizes Mr. Dash�s analysis of copies of original recordings supplied by Conservative MP Gurmant Grewal.
“Mr. Dash’s analysis of the recordings shows that they are clean and unaltered,” Kenney said. “These recordings speak for themselves. Now, it’s time for Paul Martin, Ujjal Dosanjh and Tim Murphy to begin answering the questions about their involvement in offering rewards to members of parliament in exchange for their votes. To this day, there has been no information produced by any of these individuals to dispute the facts on these recordings.”
Kenney pointed out that Mr. Dash, a professional audio engineer specializing in post-production work, is the only expert thus far to have examined copies of the original recordings, and invited others to do the same. “There has been a lot of conjecture about the authenticity of the recordings,” Kenney said. “None of this speculation is based upon fact, and would indicate that those speculating have not taken the time to listen to or examine the entire recordings, which are publicly available.”

I thought the RCMP had the original copies? Or are the RCMP just getting them now? Or did it take this long to get Mr. Dashs’Report with the originals at the RCMP for some time?
Mr Dashs’ letter does not have a date on it but states, “over the last couple of days”, this with the CPC’s statement coming out now.
I know the Libs will just deferr to the RCMP and as an aside question the timeline until summer recess. Thats all.

Well isn’t that just special, the CPC didn’t mess with the original material, but it really doesn’t explain all the various editted, modified, cut, spliced verions they put out on the internet or the wildly varrying transcripts of said output either. Well it is easy to see that they pulled the wooled over your eyes Kate.
Can you believe this – the Edmonton Journal picked up this story in a tiny hard to find article and then quoted Mr. Dash as saying that in four places it sounds like Grewal turned off the record button and then started it again “as if he was going to say something he did not want recorded”. That was not in his news release at all.
So much for getting any positive press – they just ignore the damnming content in every statement made by the Liberals and Kallia and keep trying to assasinate the messenger.
What they have done to Grewal is an absolute witchunt…they can’t legally shoot the messenger but the defamation is destroying him.
They have no headlines on two Indo-Canadians who said at an event on April 30th Kallia bragged that Dosanjj contacted him and said “Bring me the Grewals”….no press on about 23 calls FROM Kallia to Grewal…just the Liberal spin over and over again.
Socialist propaganda -If you repeat a lie over again it becomes perceived as the truth. It worked for Hitler, Saddam and the rest of the dictators in history.
Are you as flumoxed as I am at what it is going to take for Canadians to realize they are being fed utter falsehoods by the very people who should be held in the highest positions of trust. And the major media are complicit in this. Shocking isn’t it.
Nothing has been mentioned about this report in the MSM….typical. I guess they don’t like eating crow. Now the Libranos will have to change their spin!
Anon, unless you work with tape, you have no idea how easy it is to pick up background noises, the rustle of a pen against the mike in your pocket, etc. If the original tapes are clean, then any bumps, clumps, chunks, etc., are artificially imposed by mishandling of the mike. If Grewal used a cellphone, even better. That’s even more of a distortion than a regular landline. Unless in a sound-controlled environment, like a recording studio where levels and background noise can be ‘erased’, you’ll get interference.
We’ll see just how much play this release gets. I’m betting not much.
They should have given the stuff to the FBI. That would have caused a real stir, not to mention humilate the RCMP, Librano$ and Shapiro.

Kate’s not here. The wool appears to be over your eyes. None of the “alterations” changed the substance of the tapes: that Dosanjh and Murphy made an obvious attempt to bribe an MP into switching sides and voting with the government, a clearly illegal action.

Maybe we should ask what the CBC and G&M did to the tapes they had analysed. It is no secret which side of the fence they sit on. Where’s the tapes they had analysed and how do I know the mistake was not at their end, whether by accident or on purpose. These agencies (CBC & G&M) cannot be trusted to provide fair and balanced news coverage and the fact you cannot see this makes you the naive one.
Well, QP was mostly a snooze. A few questions involving the tapes but the libs countered by claiming that five…count ’em…5 liberal friendly experts said the tapes were altered. Ergo, the “partisan” expert for the CPC is unreliable. Add the rewind of the “no offer was made; pass your info to the RCMP or Ethics office” tape and that’s it.
There was a small bitch fight over Canadian financing of the gov’t of China, which of course the libs denied. I can’t imagine why anyone would object to Canada giving money to a repressive, dictatorial regime. Can you?
I’m sitting here at work (a very liberal daily paper – yes the MSM!) listening to a reporter try to cover the Fraser Institute report about anti-American bias at the CBC. They seem genuinely confused. There’s bias at the CBC?
Sigh.
All I want to do scream: bias in the media in general! Case in point… where is the report on the tapes being clean, legit and unaltered? where is our story on that?

There are 4 separate issues:
1. The actual transactions as recorded on the original tapes.
2. Did Grewal mislead the public? the CPC? with incomplete copies passed off as complete.
3. Is their any standard for the ethics commissioner? Providing a misleading letter to Sgro just before an expected election? Claiming he cannot investigate chiefs of staffs?
4. What ever happened to ministerial responsibility? The ethics commissioner told the house the other day he is clueless as to what to do about it. The Libs are telling everyone that Sgro was cleared (she wasn’t) and that this proves noone should step aside IN CASE they are innocent. When did a cabinet post become a right?

Everybody is missing the point on the Grewal tapes methinks:
Grewal had just seen Inky Mark accused of being a liar when he was made similar offers. The calls from Kallia to Grewal started at the end of April. The last time the Liberals tried to bribe Grewal he had no proof and Inky had no proof so the Liberals just called them liars and so did the media.
Joe Volpe added extortion to the mix the week before the vote by filing bogus complaints with Shapiro and intimating he was also going to have the RCMP go after Grewal.
How could Grewal prove what was happening to him? He taped the conversations just to prove it. He played a small portion of the tape to prove that he was made offers. End of story.
He did not have to give anyone the tapes. His motivation was just to not be called a liar.
Then the media and the Liberals and Paul martin and everybody started screaming for more!
He should have said no. I proved my story. The Liberals are trying to buy votes. Period.
But then the Bloc initiated an RCMP probe. The NDP wanted an ethics probe.
All of these other “experts” took the audio off the internet. The recent analysis by Mr. Dash was using actual tapes – direct copies off the orignals which are now in the hands of the RCMP.
How does a blip here and there excuse the entire contents? Liberal spin – the most expert propagandists this country has ever been deceived by.
When I ponder the Grewal incident I find myself waiting for the proper Conservative response. It has been weeks now and I can say that the Liberals have done what I would expect them to do. The same goes for the Media.. I am waiting for the Conservatives to say the right things.
I will admit that I like to collect as many dots as I can then connect them into a pattern so as to produce the most realistic picture. Yes it annoys me when others ignore some dots in order to produce an unrealistic picture or one that is contrary to reality.
So how do I connect the Grewal tape dots??
I look upon Grewalgate like healthcare…. multi-tiered….. The media and Liberals ask, why it took so long to release them. They ask, why they were doctored/edited? My responses to these questions are simple.
For the question as to why it took so long to release them?
They were so damaging, not just to the Liberal party of Canada but to how Canadians see themselves. Mr. Harper was extremely concerned and disturbed by how Canadians would react to the realization that their governing Liberals were involved in criminal activity..
I should also point out that upon reflection, the Conservative party decided not to continue the taped negations when the next step in the process would have been a taped meeting with the Prime Minister of Canada. . The cost of having him on tape offering, what for all intense and purposes would have been a bribe, would have been a devastating blow to Canadian�s perception of their country.

As for the Doctoring question. First off the recordings that the Liberals and the media have been using as evidence of doctoring were never the originals. We never said they were originals but the media falsely suggested they were. We released these copies, to show our fellow Canadians the difference between how the media treats the Liberals and how they treat the Conservatives and we have done just that.
The media jumped all over the Conservatives by using Liberal initiated unfounded allegations while ignoring what was on the tapes.( How Canadian is that?) Thus showing Canadians their Liberal funded media is extremely biased in favour of the Liberals and extreme in it�s bias against the Conservatives
As I said, Grewalgate is multi-tiered. One level proves to Canadians that the Liberals have been involved in influence pedaling. and the other proves to Canadians just how biased their media is.
By not responding to the Liberals and the media in the above fashion allows the Liberals and media to get away with connecting the dots any way they please. Making it seem to Canadians that the Conservatives are the guilty parties instead of proving just the opposite.

Hey folks… grow up! No matter WHAT the reality is; No matter WHAT the truth; No matter WHAT you may want to believe, the fact is that the MSM virtually never prints or aires material that will significantly damage their beloved Liberals unless the MSM is embarrassed into doing so. And, when it does release information damning to its sugar-daddy, the MSM will include balancing, even if bogus, content to lessen the impact.
What I find most annoying, is that an increasing number of Conservatives, especially from Ontario, are blaming Stephen Harper for this phenomenon. There is little he can do.
I know that a lot of you find Anne Coulter shrill, but you’ve got to read “Slander”, and you’ll find yourself sitting there reading the story of the Canadian media and liberals. They are married, and through outright lies, purposeful ommissions, and emphasis on what they want front and center, they control the adjenda, unless conservatives have incredible discipline and stay on message no matter what.

John Gormley and Listeners ask the PM a number of questions. He invariabley doges each and every one with the following line. “That’s a good question, but, what the question should be, and what Canadians want to know is….” Then he reframes the question, and answers his own question. Not even Gormley caught him at this. And, when he’s interviewed by submissive MSM types, they let him formulate the entire interview.
Compare that to the pasting any CPCs get when interviewed.
This brings me back to Anne Coulter. She claims, and correctly so, that Conservatives need to be many times cleaner and better at what they do in order to win, because the deck is stacked against them. If they win, it’s because they are that much better. Liberals have become intellectually lazy because they don’t need to be sharp. Conservatives have an uphill climb, and must simply do better.
So, as much as I like to complain and see complaints, especially humorous ones, I also love to see the often brilliant commentary expressed by Canadian Conservatives on blogs and occasionally in the press.
Blogs are also digging up Liberal/Socialist dirt that would have remained burried just a few years ago. But, are the blogs strong enough to provide more than just an echo chamber.
We are better.. but maybe not good enough yet at the actual game of embarrassing the media and beating the Candadian Cartel.

My question to the RCMP and Shapiro would be this:
Are you going to demand all phone records of all parties involved? That includes the PMO, Murphy, Kallia, Grewal, Dosanjj, Belinda, Martin – that is ALL phone records, all memos, all emails, all faxes, all Blackberry records, cell phones, home phones, office phones for ALL>
Until they have those NO investigation can be considered either complete, ethical or conclusive.
Hey Sean thanks for this. The National Post had a column on this but the Calgary Herald had two paragraphs hidden in the back pages. I emailed CTV as to why it wasn’t one of the headlines on Newsnet. No answer of course. Its sickening. If this was the other way around not only would Harpers chief of staff and health minister be gone, so would Harper.
As much as I would love to be positive about this, it’s just too little too late.
The Liberals and the MSM have already turned the whole matter from the attempted bribery of two MPs into a story of the wing-nuttery that is Gurmant Grewal.
Any potential impact of the tapes is long since gone and notwithstanding that there is very good evidence of numerous improprieties if not criminal acts, no one that matters in the big scheme of things – i.e. the Ontario voters – cares and that it probably wouldn’t be a bad thing if the story just went away because all that people seem to be taking away from the sorry affairs is that even though they are all corrupt and/or criminals, and least the Liberals are good at it.

Happydaze Have you ever considered running for office – if not I wish you would. Just now, the CPC could use someone like you in their communications dept.
The only way I can think of to get this news out to the voters is through Western Standard – MASS MAILOUTS. Many middle-aged voters are not ‘on line’ yet, they want to read their news from a piece of paper. Western Standard has changed the minds of ten people in my own family (all educated people in the 45-90 age group) I gave Western Standard for Christmas presents. It is established and I think mass mail -outs of this excellent magazine would be the best investment Conservatives in this country could make.
Somewhere in Hansard, there is a blip about Tony Valeri mentioning Mr. Dash. I took it to be a set-up . Wasn’t it smart of the Cons to use Tony’s recommended “Expert” BECAUSE NOW THEY WILL HAVE TO REFUTE ONE OF THEIR OWN!

Writing in the Globe & Mail the other day, Bob Robertson, ( of comedy troupe Double Exposure), claims to have received a complete set of the Grewal Tapes, from his ‘sweat-brother'(Sergeant Preston, who is now head of the Musical Ride Sound Studio, where the tapes are being analyzed.
Ujjal Dosanjh tells Grewal that they currently have no cabinet posts available, but they could use a new Prime Minister: “Don’t tell him I said that, of course, or I’ll become the Minister of Chopping Some Wood for the Fire.”
Grewal asks to be made Governor General: “Already I have the right initials?”
Dosanjh agrees to consider that, but they are looking for someone who has fought somewhere, earned some medals?
Grewal replies: “Next week, I would think.” Dosanjh: “Why? What will happen then?”
Grewal: “Probably Stephen Harper will kick the living crap out of me.”
