The Federal Liberals vs. Western Canadians
The Sun News Network page on Facebook provides for interesting reading from a wide variety of commenters. Reading through many of the comments from the recent stories about Justin Trudeau and David McGuinty, one is struck by two things:
- No matter what the political topic, there appear to be a plethora of Canadians whose lives seem mostly energized by one thing: A deep-seated hatred for Stephen Harper. It would be most interesting to learn the findings after these folks had a few sessions on a psychiatrist’s couch. Perhaps that would explain why they spend oodles of time & energy espousing their hatred of Harper at every opportunity and on every venue. So weird.
- Those in Western Canada who are unphased by a politician (Trudeau) who clearly & calmly said that Canada belongs to Quebec, following on the footsteps of another politician (McGuinty) from his same party who said that politicians representing Albertans are too small minded to make the really big decisions about Canada.
They can spin these quotes any which way they want – saying they were taken out of context or didn’t really mean what they said or whatever – but any reasonable person knows that these words were coming directly from their core hard drives and precisely represent their innermost thoughts.
How ANYONE in Western Canada can cast a vote for a party represented by the likes of Trudeau & McGuinty is truly an example of cognitive dissonance.

Tonight we present you a 1952 episode of an NBC radio drama called “Whitehall 1212”. The name of the series stems from the original phone number to Scotland Yard, introduced in 1934.
This episode has a strong Canadian connection, focusing in on nuclear secrets stolen by a visiting British scientist in Ottawa and sold to the Soviets. The names in the show have been changed but it appears to be the dramatized account of Alan Nunn May and Igor Gouzenko. One highlight you’ll hear early on is a hard nosed RCMP officer telling off a useless bureaucrat in Canada’s Ministry of Justice.

Just Watch Him
While Justin “Bieber” Trudeau is addressing the multitudes/shilling for votes on December 22, I wonder if he’ll be at all bothered by the fact that another of the event’s speakers at the confab, Dr. Jamal Badawi, has, among other things:
⋅ issued a fatwa for Islamonline, outlining six different conditions in which a wife may properly be beaten.

What We Really Need Is Democracy
With an Islamist dictator to vote for;
With a constitutional assembly on the brink of collapse and protesters battling the police in the streets here over the slow pace of change, President Mohamed Morsi issued a sweeping decree on Thursday night, granting himself broad new powers above any court and ordering the retrial of his predecessor, Hosni Mubarak.
Mr. Morsi, an Islamist who won Egypt’s first free presidential vote, portrayed himself as acting to satisfy popular demands. But the unexpected breadth of his new powers immediately raised fears that he might become a new strongman.
Related! “It is astonishing that American officials and the world media have hailed Morsi simply because he first sicced his dog on his neighbor, and then called the dog off.”
Meanwhile – Muslim Brotherhood offices torched.

Tonight, in an out-of-context performance given years ago at the very heart of Canada’s future, Québécois vocal sensations Les Baronets (Céline Dion’s husband René Angelil is le gonze sur la gauche) control our musical agenda with a medley of Ces Monde Plein d’Histoire & Je Suis Seul.

This Is Awkward
In November 2010, Trudeau told a Quebec television show that he was tired of Albertans running the country and that, whether it was Jean Chretien or Brian Mulroney, Canada is better off when Quebecers are running the country.
“Canada isn’t doing well right now because it’s Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda. It doesn’t work,” Trudeau said in French to interviewer Patrick Lagace on the Tele-Quebec program Les francs-tireurs (The Straight Shooters).
Lagace then asked Trudeau if he thought Canada was “better served when there are more Quebecers in charge than Albertans?”
Trudeau replied: “I’m a Liberal, so of course I think so, yes. Certainly when we look at the great prime ministers of the 20th century, those that really stood the test of time, they were MPs from Quebec… This country – Canada – it belongs to us.”
Oops.
Update: Trudeau summons his best substitute teacher skills to draft a stinging rebuttal.
Forward!
Getting the government they deserve –
