  1. To sum up – We got it completely wrong, maybe on purpose, and we’re not sorry. Mission Accomplished ~ NYTimes

  2. A version of this article appears in print on Sept. 14, 2018, on Page A20 of the New York edition with the headline: Envoy’s View of City Is Priceless. The Curtains? $52,000.. Order Reprints | Today’s Paper | Subscribe

    Damage done….

  3. Typical NYT hit piece against the Republicans. The NYT is corrupt, run by corrupt owners, editors and writers.

  4. They wonder where the term FAKE NEWS originated. And then they do it again. It will probably be a news break on CNN in a couple of days.

  5. They aren’t the enemy of all the people, just those who still expect a modicum of truth.

  6. Just imagine if the New York Times was the only newspaper in the country?
Or the Toronto Star the only paper in Ontariowe?
    You just described New Brunswick.

    1. Ok, technically you’re right. But I live in New Brunswick, we’re in the middle of a provincial election, and Brunswick News is doing a commendable job covering the campaign. Besides, the editorial pages tend to lean conservative. Even the local CBC News is covering the election in a decently neutral manner, so this may be a rare election in Canada with factual, even-handed coverage. I know this seems hard to believe. Btw: the Brian Gallant Liberals are going to win the election in a walk, unfortunately.

  7. This is a standard practice of the media cartel.

Put out a provable, unadulterated lie, you can always pretend apology. In the mean time, the lie is spread by word of mouth faster than a speeding bullet. Less than 1/2 of those that read will read the pretend correction and none of those that have heard of it.

And that, alert people is, how news is manufactured.

  8. The Grey Lady only prints the truth when the globalists no longer have anything to gain from hiding it.

When New York City is “wypipo”-free, the last working-class whites left in the city having been hauled upstate to be turned into glue, lampshades and feed for pigs being raised for export to China, the happy news that China’s little emperors are feasting on the last of the wypipo will be on the front page. Till then, good luck getting them to print what our masters have in store for us.

  9. I can see $52,000 curtains in some circumstances. This venue is, I believe, to be used at times for entertaining heads of states. Security is a major concern. You need drapes opaque enough so that a shadow cast on them is not seen from the outside. It would be good if they slowed down (that is, caused to tumble) — or better, stopped — a sniper’s bullet. And they should be fire resistant. Such curtains would likely be too heavy to drawn by hand, especially if they were very tall; thus the need for motors.

What we consider a decorative item can be far more than that.

  10. And yet … MY President is “undermining the First Amendment” … “undermining the Press” … when claiming FAKE News is ruining … The Press.

    MY President is right.
    The Presstitutes are wrong.

  11. This will live on in the blogosphere amongst the Misinformedmers, some of them misremembering, or maybe misrecalling.

That the NYT was so diligent about curtains yet waxes unethically at Trump at every opportunity says a lot about the NYT.

Then again, Trump did cause 84,000 “unnecessary deaths” from his denial of climate change. How heinous is that, plus he denies that 3000 people did die in Puerto Rico from that hurricane, which was so devastating the deaths continued for six months.

No word yet on the survey of “unnecessary deaths” caused by the tax system & regulation.

OMG, now Trump is likely the penner of the NYT op ed senior official so people will think there’s adults in his administration.

You can’t make this stuff up.

      1. re the firefighters:
        so where’s the kitchen sink?
if I had been there, there would have been a kitchen sink fly by.
ya gotta have a kitchen sink.

speaking of sink, isnt THAT what credibility has been doing a lot lately thanks to stuff like cooper’s borrowed stunt?
        yup !!!

oh, and if I had been THERE, I would have snuck up behind him underwater to simulate a biiiiiiig wave pulling him in the undertow.
ah poop. no more anderson cooper.

        fakenews

  12. The funny thing about this article is the apology, not the fact that the Obama admin ordered the $52,000 curtains which is a non-story.

  13. Ooops, we got everything wrong but the damage we had intended to do to the person named has been done so we’re happy.

  14. Scum. But what it actually represents is the Hillary can’t lose” mantra so popular up to Nov 7, 2016. Too bad we don’t have some real newspapers to report on the money Dems spent feathering their nests.
