Right here: Seven Earth Day predictions that failed spectacularly https://wattsupwiththat.com/2016/04/22/seven-earth-day-predictions-that-failed-spectacularly/
1: “Civilization Will End Within 15 or 30 Years.”
Harvard biologist Dr. George Wald warned shortly before the first Earth Day in 1970 that civilization would soon end……..
Haav’d no less.
Of course civilization ended. How else can one explain reality TV? On top of that, when was it inflicted upon us?

Charges laid against three government employees in the Flint, Michigan, water crisis.
As opposed to the charges laid against private enterprise employees in Ontario over Walkert – oh wait, they were government employees too.
There seems to be a pattern here.
Tarek Fatah posted this on Facebook from a different source. I never comment on his posts but had to after this one. He is very outspoken about the ills of Islam but will not leave it.
“But, still, you remain a practicing Muslim, Tarek. Listening to men laugh with what appears to be pleasure and possibly envy because Mohammed consummated his marriage to Aisha when she was only 9 yrs old is sickening. And yet Western women in what were once Christian countries will wear the hijab in support of Islam. I fail to understand this insanity.” http://conservativefans.com/2016/03/27/muslims-say-a-fathers-lust-for-his-daughter-is-not-a-sin-if-the-daughter-is-over-9-years-old/
Of course she was investigated. Complaints are confidential and you have nothing to lose by getting gov’t to investigate people.

Didn’t like it when I first heard it but likewise over the years its grown on me too.

“Climate science might become the most important casualty of the replication crisis”
“The replication crisis in science has just begun. It will be big.”
“Summary: After a decade of slow growth beneath public view, the replication crisis in science begins breaking into public view. First psychology and biomedical studies, now spreading to many other fields — overturning what we were told is settled science, the foundations of our personal behavior and public policy. Here is an introduction to the conflict (there is pushback), with the usual links to detailed information at the end, and some tentative conclusions about effects on public’s trust of science. It’s early days yet, with the real action yet to begin.
“Men only care for science so far as they get a living by it, and that they worship even error when it affords them a subsistence.”

“Red Tory~Green Tory. Same difference.” Agreed. I’m not sure if she actually believes the so-called green crap or is just mouthing what it takes to be on side with the deluded public.
To begin with, why are the Conservatives supporting using food producing acres to grow crops for ethanol when we fossil fuel reserves for the foreseeable future?
Why are Conservatives supporting using food producing acres to grow crops for ethanol when we have abundant supplies of fossil fuels into the foreseeable future?
The document Trudeau signed us onto in NYC will never amount to a hill of beans, it will be ignored as it becomes clear it will kill our economy, trade will be shut down. We’ll be living on cabbage and root veggies in the cold months, scurvy will make a comeback, we cannot grow fruit in the cold white north country. Maybe they should try comedy, there’s something very funny about the lot of them, a combination of funny ha, ha, and funny strange topped off with a sprinkling of insanity.
That’s interesting. I’m not sure what makes a new ager convert to Christianity, but then again I’m not certain what the elements are in being a new ager.
“How else can one explain reality TV?”
The advent of reality TV coincided with a writers’ strike in Hollywood. And then Survivor and Big Brother made a ton of money.
And a seriously declining prime acreage for table produce…
Yes!! best thing I ever did was let Him take the wheel. Hallelujah
Agreed.
Yeah using food to make fuel makes sense when we are awash in oil/gas. 7.3 billion on the planet and we are talking about ‘sustainable’ agriculture? What the hell are these people going to eat when we make ethanol and farm with oxen? Oh yeah the fruitfly pointed out the efficiencies of Cuban agriculture to us.
Reminds me of a former librano Ag Min in the PET government Eugene Whelan. He returned from a visit to the soviet union with the news that if Canada expects to sell grain to russia we had better be prepared to purchase some trade items from them. His idea of levelling the trade imbalance was to purchase Belarus (pronounced Bell-air-is) tractors. The Canadian farming community had moved so far past the technical level of Belarus by this time that his suggestion was akin to asking farmers to harness up a team of horses and take to the fields with some 6′ equipment.
But, he made it happen. Belarus did come to Canada. They had a few dealers on the prairie and you would see one in a field (usually stuck) from time to time. Of course they couldn’t compete with a modern line of equipment and they quickly became an endangered species. Mercifully no effort was attempted to institute a recovery.
Wonder what that program cost Canadians?
This genuflection to the watermelons is for me a no-no for any potential conservative leader. Either they are a idiot for believing that junk, or as depraved as red Tories.
I agree, but we may have to go with the flow or sit out the process for a while.
Our neighbors tried a Belarus once.
They called it Boris and it’s true. Any mud-puddle larger than a yard wide would ensnare Boris and he would stay foundered there for hours. On the plus side the cab had a large truck seat so you could fully recline for a nap as you waited for someone to come pull you out.
Our neighbor said the seat was like so that the commissar and his family could ride with you, to make sure you wern’t breaking any important government edicts.
Hey,and now, whoever chooses to can call Nenshi dick.
If not, why not?.
Heh, heh, heh.
Electric cars make good sense in any big Canadian city during most of the year. In places like Vancouver and Victoria with mild weather and abundant hydro-energy they’re an even better option. People can pay for charging like they do for parking meters.
I don’t see many people selling their motorcycles because they can’t comfortably use them below freezing temps. So the argument that electric vehicles are useless because they can’t handle Canadian winters is specious.
The vehicles people choose to buy and legally use are their free choice, n’es pas?
It is not unknown for a neighbour or relative to make complaints to the local Social Services or whatever it’s called just out of spite. Do remember hearing, many years ago, how a family was harassed by another person in the community until the local Social Services told said person to cease and desist because all investigations had proved the family in question was totally good. Fortunately, this happened in a relatively small community where the harassment could be contained relatively quickly. Still,
it must have been hell for the harassed family while it lasted, even though the Social Services people were doing their best to shut the vindicitave person down. In this case, there was enough community evidence to back the family’s defense. But, sadly, there are cases where a neighbour’s concerns go unrecognized until there is a tragedy.

Except its NOT free choice.
When greentard governments heavily subsidize the purchase price of the roller skates, pay 100% of the cost of the charging stations AND the electricity (OPM picks up the cost), there is no level playing field. These are huge hidden costs that local and provincial governments smile about in photo ops, but don’t want to discuss the details, whether its subsidized solar panels/water heating units, or home charging stations, we as taxpayers are paying outlandish hidden costs to make the greentards feel warm and fuzzy all over.
Despite all these efforts, the electric car is a failure. Yes, its a failure, based on sales figures. Every one one of these vehicles is built, and sold, at a LOSS, and yes, even Tesla! The company has NEVER made a profit.
Electric cars cost nearly double the equivalent ICM vehicle. Their range is embarrassingly small. Their payload, is small. But yes, they do have a curb appeal to the self-righteous do-gooders of the world. And Tesla isn’t a genius, he’s a hype promoter, the latest PT Barnum. When his company starts making annual profits, I will tip my hat, but, he’s a long way from that, if ever. He’s no miracle worker, but he’s sure got a lot of people deceived that he’s a genius, and are willing to pay extreme costs for a grocery getter.
But its hailed as a success in the OBambi Turdopian age….

I agree that it’s greenwashed bad policy to heavily subsidize electric cars. All energy resources should be given equal subsidy or none at all. Taxpayers pay for electric powered urban transport already; electric cars are just another example.
