I laughed profusely when I read the article. It’s like animal rescue shelters that keep baby rabbits and and later release them into the wild, only to have a hungry fox devour them for lunch an hour later.
The best I ever seen on that note was on The Simpsons where the warden at the Springfield Prison is about to execute a convict by electrocution. A tornado is headed for Springfield, and only seconds before the warden pulls down the switch, the roof lifts off the jail and the prisoner gets sucked out of his electric chair. As he’s flying upwards yelling out ”So long suckers,” he gets tangled up in a three phase power line only to die of electrocution.
