10% of 63 trillion is 6.3 trillion and assuming (far too generously) that welfare is all of that and that somehow because blacks are disproportionate recipients of an excess of 20% that’s 1.2 trillion not 8.3. Over 44 years.
And it’s a stupid argument on the face of it. And a stupid argument based on fraudulent stats makes a supposed conservative worse than those he is attacking.

Um, Mr. Tulk, the arithmetic you are using suggests that blacks receive 20% more than their allotted amount of social spending based on their 12% of the population. Or 14.4%.
The Captain, quoting Daily Kos, is saying that blacks get 32%. Or a 17.6% larger share of social spending than you are allowing.
I’m inclined to think that the Captain’s use of the numbers is more accurate than yours.
Further, it seems you are not enamored of Captain Capitalism in general. If that is so, it would seem that if you want to disparage his posts, you need to do more than shout “Shut Up!!”

– Affirmative action: … all the (lesser intellects) who have been promoted and given degrees over more qualified candidates. No, I didn’t say that all blacks lack intellect, or are in any way less capable than any other race. The problem is that affirmative action hasn’t selected THOSE smart, qualified black applicants. Those applicants are chosen without any help from a.a. No, it is the marginal or flat out incapable applicants who have been elevated far beyond their abilities. This has hurt our society in so many ways, that may be difficult to quantify absent a detailed forensic accounting (which would be so politically incorrect as to never take place). As every American worker has learned … the incapable co-worker who doesn’t carry their own weight drags down the whole business. The drag caused by a.a. on our society is massive. Where is this NOT true ? Silicon Valley. Apple, Google, Facebook, et.al. don’t hire blacks in proportion to the population. And those that do, don’t put unqualified employees in positions of responsibility. No, they get put in rubber-rooms of harmless departments where they can do no harm.
– Social promotion: … despite the statistically evident FAILURE of our “urban” school districts. Uneducated blacks move from grade-to-grade as though they have mastered the work. They still speak “Ebonics” or “rap” or various languages of thuggery (not business). And if these fine young students are not promoted and given degrees … they cry “cultural bias”! … even though they have been raised in American culture … not the West Indies, or West Africa. – Government hiring of blacks in much higher proportion than all other races: Is it any wonder that cities like Detroit cannot even deliver clean water to its citizens ? Every level of government in Detroit (or Baltimore … insert failed government or school district here) is run by blacks who suffer from affirmative action and social promotion. The results are predictable … FAIL.
I would argue that ALL of the above add-up to a far greater COST to America than the direct payments made through welfare. Direct payment of reparation checks, followed by a return to American meritocracy … would be much cheaper than continuing the FAILED policy of affirmative action and social promotion.

Seems like a very reliable source … however … they cite (at the end of 2014) that 7% of the Federal budget goes to interest payments on the debt. I seem to recall reading sources that cite a MUCH HIGHER % of the budget dedicated to interest payments. This is what affirmative action hires and elected officials do … run up debt till the bill becomes unpayable. They lack the intellect to plan strategically for the future.
