  1. If you listen carefully, you can hear the oxygen being slowly sucked out of Trump’s campaign.
Rubio’s going to win the nomination. You heard it here first.
    🙂

  2. And the Trump supporters will stay home on election night… Bernie Sanders, long-time bum and unemployed socialist will become the PotUS…

  3. Trump is Cruz’s bulldozer… Rubio did well but I suspect after New Hampshire Trump will get in behind Cruz and it will be an insider vs. outsider fight.
I’d personally prefer Cruz despite his overt religiousness which I find off putting.

  4. That is not what I am hearing. The loss presumable happened at least in part because Iowa requires you to be a registered party member to vote. Some states do not have the same requirement. Much of Trump’s support comes from unregistered people, independents and even some Dems. I do not think this is over by a long shot.

  5. I agree with you. Santorum won Iowa in 2012, and Newt Gingrich was a serious contender.

  6. Sarah Palin on Facebook tonight saying that the top 3 Republican candidates are TEA Party supporters and have rocked the establishment…
    Good enough for me.
Really pleased to see a tight finish in Iowa.

  7. All week on Mark Levin and Jeff Kuhner all I’ve heard is clips of Trump saying he could make deals with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and other left wing democrats. I’ve also heard news snippets of old Establishment Republicans (like Bob Dole and some others) saying that if Trump is the deal maker that he portrays himself to be and indeed is, then they will bite the bullet and move to Trump over Cruz because they might believe that Trump will deal with them, too, wheras Cruz will NEVER deal. If Rubio, The Establishment’s last concerted hope, starts to fade, he’ll bring his delegates over to Trump. Even if he releases them, enough will make their way over to Trump to nudge him over. I believe that next two states will be the deciding factor.

  8. Rubio speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He will never be elected for anything outside the friendly confines of his boat-people district in Florida. The rest of the country is fed-up with the CHEAP LABOR being imported illegally (and given “amnesty”) by Rubio’s handlers and bundlers. Rubio has tried desperately to “walk-back” his endorsement of amnesty for the 30 million ILLEGALS squatting in our country. Sorry, dude … we KNOW who you REALLY are. And who you REALLY serve. And it ain’t the American people and America’s best interests. Big, big corporate America has a studded dog collar around your neck (and probably wired to your genitals) Marco. You ain’t goin anywhere.

  9. Rubio IS the establishment Republicans boi. What is the ex small-town Alaskan mayor talking about ?

  10. Listened to all the wrap up/thank you speeches…well, except for Sanders, ’cause there are limits to my endurance when it comes to socialist/progressive twaddle. The only one who spoke from the heart was Rubio, indeed one of the best speeches I’ve heard from anyone in a long time. (I was starting to expect…and then hope for…a big hook to emerge from behind the curtain to drag Cruz off the stagNe. One of the first rules of politics is to know when to shut up! Yikes!)
End of the day, the GOP needs to nominate someone who can and will defeat the Democrat nominee, whomever that might end up being.
IMHO, that ain’t Cruz or Trump…whom some would argue either would be a gift to the Dems.
Clearly, Rubio is the one whom they fear the most.

  11. I think you are hearing Trump but not understanding what he means by ‘I can make a deal with them’.
I think what he meant was:’I can deal with them’.
Any congressman or senator that tries to stand in the way of a President Trump is going to feel like that dude standing in front of that tank in Tiannemen Square. Except in this case Trump the tank is going to turn you into axle grease.
Oppose his immigration policy? He will unleash a absolute tirade directed solely at you, about how you are Un-American, unpatriotic, you hate this country, the polls in your state show massive approval of this move, you’re a Communist, etc, etc.
Look what he did to Fox News. He stiffed them. Now project what he did to fox news to what he will do to enemies of his policies.

  12. I am not unhappy with the results of tonight’s primary. I can be happy with any of those three. It would have been nice to see Carley a little higher in the percentages.
In any case, as long as it is not the commie or the liar.

  13. Wow … Shocked to hear anyone even uttering Carley’s name. She remains my #1 pick … after listening to all her debate performances. Isn’t the first time that I am out of sync with the low-information voters.

  14. Iowa is a religious bastion of socialists & that doesn’t bode well for Republicans. Trump did WELL without skipping the State…If he had won Iowa he would have had a quick sweep. He is away ahead in NH & the South….It is better to keep Republican interest high with Cruz & Rubio all the way. A nice Hollywood script!
Hillary moved into the deep left.. she is now for universal Health Care & Bernie’s pet causes, but she will lose NH & the DNC will have a decision. (If they move too far Left they will get hammered in the general)….They may have to draft OLD Joe to keep the middle…Not a good night for Hillary’s future
The Establishment & MSM had a bad night…CNN now has to push a Marxist revolution
BTW: Carley & Trump were together @ polling Tonight…Still hope for VP

  15. Impressed that Cruz went after ethanol and won. Also surprised that Trump didn’t do better. If Trump and learn and win then I think he will prevail. Otherwise I see Rubio likely carrying the establishment torch. Just too much money and power in play to let the non-establishment types prevail.

  16. Jeb! was the Establishment’s favourite candidate and Rubio, a definite outsider, wasn’t even on their list. When they realized their candidates weren’t going anywhere they adopted Rubio.
Palin has been vital in breaking the Establishment’s choke hold on the GOP.

  17. “I’d personally prefer Cruz despite his overt religiousness which I find off putting.”
Ronald Reagan had two back-to-back landslides in 1980 and 1984. Reverend Jerry Falwell’s Moral Majority played a key role in getting those landslides.
Except for Falwell’s Moral Majority religious coalition,(no longer exists) Cruz is singing close to the same song book as Reagan did note for note.

  18. Biggest winner on the night is Rubio. Just one percent from burying trump.
Trump still likely will win NH but it seems very likely that the mainstream GOP will quickly coalesce around Rubio. If trump beats Rubio by less than ten points trump will lose to either Cruz or Rubio in sc (I think Rubio takes it – sc is a lot more urban moderate than many think) and then it’s a two way battle between Cruz and Rubio. And I think Rubio has the edge (I am a Cruz supporter).
The interesting thing tonight is that Rubio did prove that a well done media buy and big centre campaign can get you significant support in Iowa. No ones ever done that before.

  19. Neither Cruz nor Rubio can win the national elections against the Democrats. So, if the US is to have any future at all, they’d better find a way to like The Donald, and quick.

  20. I find it fascinating that someone who has been polling as high as 60% gets 25% of the vote. something be rotten in iowa.

  21. > Neither Cruz nor Rubio can win the national elections against the Democrats.
What evidence do you have to support that assertion? Polls consistently say Trump performs the worst in the general election, and Rubio the best. Trump’s negatives are sky-high – the highest of any candidate since the question has been asked – and Rubio’s numbers remain very positive. Polls can change, obviously – but Clinton and Trump are so well known that it’s unlikely they will be able to redefine themselves.

  22. Because the only Republican running that has any brand identity at all is Trump. Cruz has way too many negatives on his plate that won’t play well in most of the US. His squirrely ethnic background is as much a turn-off for many, many Americans as it is a positive for some Latinos. ANY politician in the US who identifies strongly with the Latino community is doomed, SoCal, TexMex and Florida not withstanding. Iowa was about vote splitting, something we really understand here with three (or more) political parties. The only thing holding Trump back is his mouth. If he learns to moderate the bullshit, he’ll fly. The one thing Trump is doing that NOBODY else is doing is “standing his ground”, something that is resonating deeply with Americans all over the US right now. Cruz isn’t doing it – he comes across as weak and vacillating. Rubio is the vote-splitting also-ran. None of the establishment Repubs have a chance. Polls mean squat in the internet age, and they’re owned/controlled by the alphabet media groups in any case.
If Cruz (or Rubio) is the choice, Hillary is a shoe-in, maybe even as she’s on her way to jail. YMMV 🙂

  23. I am in the anyone but Hillary camp, and I do think Trump has the best chance of knocking her out. Trump us not part for the Washington insider group and I think he is a level headed person regardless of his showman antics.

  24. If nothing else, Trump has basically smashed Billary, and he has been such a “bad cop” that he has given Cruz a hell of a lot more elbow room IF he becomes PotUS. If Cruz is pres, he can pretty much take a wrecking ball to just about anything, because he has a much nicer bedside manner than Trump, and the losers will be grateful it’s not the Donald they are dealing with.

  25. I think there is some reason for concern. Maybe we should get a different group of vote counters for the next primary.

  26. We live in times where voters are becoming increasingly stupid. We have a clown running Canada. We have a socialist running Alberta. An absolutely corrupt party running Ontario. Obama running the US, a man so petty he cannot even approve a pipeline.
Along comes Trump, a man with guts, and breath of fresh air, and people cannot bring themselves to pick him as #1 in Ohio.
To top it off, viewing the news this morning I am astonished to see all the knives come out for Trump.
Whether it is Cruz or Rubio they do not stand a chance against the Clinton juggernaut. They will be mincemeat.
God but people can be stupid.
    Go Trump.

  27. I didn’t think Obama had a chance in the first time out let alone the 2nd election. Then again I never thought Ontario would elect the fools they have either.
Romney was likely the last great opportunity the USA had to straighten themselves out. I don’t see any of the GOP candidates as shoe-ins. The GOP has to hope that the FBI or CIA dump on Hilary during the campaign. Methinks there will be a few bodies floating face down across the nation.

  28. You can register with either party (or change party affiliation) at the caucus. I actually thought the ease of participating would help Trump by including more voters who hadn’t participated in caucuses in the past. I was wrong.

  30. Polls focus on likely voters.
The caucuses require voters to actually spend an evening participating in the process. Those are two different groups and I’m not surprised that the percentages are quite different.

  32. Way too much emphasis on Iowa imho. Polling is always way off there. Same goes for NH. Cruz get six delegates, Trump and Rubio five. Yada yada, on to the next one. Interesting process though.
The big question now is where do the trailing candidates’ votes migrate? Trump might have made an error not attending the Iowa debates, we can’t be sure on that. The ethanol/ agriculture issue really clouded local politics as well. Trump still has the winning momentum, it’s his to lose but any idea of him running the table is improbable. His armour is tarnished somewhat and he does appear somewhat vulnerable.
It’s going to be a slugfest, with the elites dueling over policy while Trump speaks directly to the voter. Iowa might be showing his first-time motivated voter case is muted. The GOP field is of the higher quality this time and if they can all pull together for one candidate and VP nominee, they could put on a good show, which they’ll certainly need with their media almost as ideology addled and unethical as here.
The real story is the Dem debacle. A nutbar socialist vrs a self-interested sociopath, 50/50 on delegates out of Iowa? Bernie is set to win NH and seems to be the most successful vote harvester. Then surely Hillary will prevail given her establishment funding, giant ego and good ground game. She just instructed us to forget about the emails, and Benghazi for that matter, they’re “old news.”
Ah, the Alinsky bait & switch: Deny, deny, deny; When that fails, obfuscate, obfuscate, obfuscate; When that fails, delay, delay, delay. When the house of cards falls down, claim that everything’s OK, she’s put it behind her. How comforting. Is that why she is underwater on honesty with national voters?
I think she would mop the floor with Rubio, oh look at the little boy, how funny. She would trap Cruz on anger and cooperation issues, and I doubt he has enough fight in him to counter her contrivances. She is quite ready to deal with their debating points around her corruption, laughing them off as desperate anger.
Trump happily he admits he’s angry, with her. He will just stomp her with his message and appeal to the voters, so she will have to retreat to policy, which is not her strong suit it seems. He won’t bother to nit pick the details of Emailgate and Benghazi in his attacks instead illuminating her incompetence.
Her progressive addled but tried & true debate shoutdown and outrage over “insults” is her only hope. Yes it worked well here last election with the petulant performance of our cabin boy PM, but I don’t like Clinton’s chances with Trump, who will not tolerate, as Romney did, “moderator” cheerleading for the Dem candidate. That assumes the likelihood she is actually the Dem candidate of course with the necessary political cover to avoid significant criticism or even indictments.

  33. Who can beat Clinton?

Secondly, the notion that Rubio is the “Establishment’s” candidate is nonsense, a construction of the MSM, clearly not born out by the facts. He won his Senate seat as a member of the Tea Party. Even Limbaugh, hard core as they get, trashed this assertion today…
    http://hotair.com/archives/2016/02/02/rush-limbaugh-marco-rubio-is-a-legitimate-full-throated-conservative-and-a-disciple-of-ronald-reagan/

  34. Really … now please explain what happened to the last two election cycles of “Tea “Party” candidates who won Senate and House seats on the promise of “outsider” change. Then turn around and pass Obama’s entire budget fully contributing to the destruction of America. These “agents of change” are AWOL.
OK … now please explain-away Rubio’s support … vocal support … for the Gang of Eight amnesty bill ? Sorry, but Rubio has learned well from Obama’s … ” If you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor” … LIE. Rubio’s reversal on amnesty is a LIE. He knows there will be NO penalty for LIEing to face of his supporters … to WIN. That there will be no repercussions when he pushes amnesty through (on the order of the Rep. Establishment).
And Rubio may not have been “created” by the Rep. establishment … but they have adopted him (out of the necessity of a FAILed Bush run). Rubio has already shown his maleability … and will allow himself to be shaped into whatever the ollllldddd Republican pukes want him to be.
In other words … Rubio = SOS … (you know the acronym).
