How much carbon is being released by the forest fires, especially the big one in State of Washington?
Placing the tires was a boondoggle, and retrieving them is a boondoggle. I assume that the area of placement was “dead” before, and so there is no great loss to leave it dead now. But, politically connected environmental companies will be paid to remove the tires, and more will be paid to incinerate them, while claiming that green energy is being retrieved.
There is an upside. Placing them was counted as GDP, and removing them is counted as GDP, and managing these projects is counted as GDP. Feeling wealthy?
