   1. The video of Health Minister, Patti Hajdu, is a good example of the art of misdirection. Canadians did not elect the WHO to set out Canada’s health care policies and response to COVID-19. Canadians elected the Liberal Party to govern and to set out Canada’s health care polices including Canada’s response to COVID-19.

      Instead of having a viable emergency response plan in place the Liberal Party chose to prioritize climate change, political correctness, social justice at the expense of sound governance policy. We are in this mess because of the Liberal Party’s choices. It is that simple.

   1. I’m sure that China has infiltrated its agents into academe, their mission being to steal as many trade secrets as possible. That would be very easy to do as companies have farmed out their research and development to universities.

      Then there’s the fact that many new faculty in science and engineering were either hired from over there or came here as grad students to finish their studies. (I know of several people who fit that description.) Let them take out landed immigrant status or even citizenship, start families while in the country, and it’s hard to deport them, particularly here in Canada.

      Even if they did, would they care? I was at my house in B. C. earlier this week and chatted briefly with my neighbour. Her response at the situation was, “Oh, well, what can you do?”

   The Big Leap Forward turned out to be the Big Death Leap for more than 30 million people there. The 60/61 drought occurred just when Mao ordered farmers off the farms and into the cities to work in the big push for industrialization.
   Couldn’t have picked a worse time to do it.

   BTW, Pierre Trudeau and his buddy toured freely around China at that time and never noticed anything unusual about tripping over the dead bodies and the famine occurring then. In fact, he said Mao was the most impressive man he ever met at the time.

      I heard an interesting side story to that.

      During that time, the Americans were observing what was going on in China by flying U-2 surveillance planes over Chinese territory. One reason for that was because they were interested in what was happening at the nuclear test facilities at Lop Nor.

      During those flights, evidence of the famine was found, but the Americans couldn’t say anything. To do so would have raised questions about how they got the information and they would have had to admit that they were violating Chinese airspace with their U-2s. Satellite technology back then wasn’t capable of allowing those observations.

      Those were delicate times, coming after the Gary Powers incident and, I assume, the confrontation in Berlin over the construction of “die Mauer” and before the matter of the Soviets installing missiles in Cuba.

6. Why is Trudeau placing himself in such an isolated position? My guess is that he’s been found out by his colleagues, as a Chinese operative, or at least more of a sympathizer than they are, and that they can’t bring themselves to make a full public declaration, but are trying to ease him out of office.

   He always said he admired the Beijing government. This is on the public record and nobody can say otherwise.

   Staying out of sight in his hide-out means he can organize his day around whatever time zone he finds most convenient. Could be quite a few different from the one he’s in now.
