Tom Walker is a comedian who plays the role of Jonathan Pie, a fictional news reporter. In this post election rant he goes on a long rant intended for left of centre voters. While some of the things he says are rubbish, his main message that insulting your opponents is no way to win them over, will hopefully sink into the small minds of the Leftist Cult members.

Thanks, the firefighters missive was an interesting read
Why do I keep hearing people say things like “hopefully sink into the small minds”, “all people are basically good”, etc.?
So, 100 years of evidence is not enough? Stalins, Maos, Pol Pots in the making, they are just mistaken and have good intentions?
Yeah, it’s not getting better. What you are in, is not just a river in Egypt.
Kevin, thousands of years has not altered man’s inhumanity to man. Even Jesus Christ could not do it.
Jesus Christ’s stated purpose was not to alter Man’s inhumanity to Man. The omniscient Creator can do that by simply willing it so.
Jesus was sent to inspire us each individually to wish to alter our inhumanity to man, and to show us how. Whether you believe or not in his divinity or even in whether he ever existed, it’s clear in the teachings attributed to him that the choice is left to us. We all end up dead and the world goes on, make of it what you will while you are in it.
Yes, and even that example wasn’t enough to make most of us act better towards our fellows. I think you and OWG are on the same page, just singing in different keys.
I disagree totally … how DARE YOU … I’ll have you all against the wall, after the lawyers that is 🙂
“When the debate is lost slander becomes the tool of the losers”
Socrates
Thank youTwitter!! For amplifying the leftists echo chamber! For keeping the TRULY ignorant … all the more ignorant. Hint: the midlanders and northerners are NOT the ignorant ones.
See the US Congress now. When the election is lost, resort to lawfare and lies.
“Labour lost a culture war they didn’t even know they were fighting”
I wonder how long it will take for Canadian parents of unemployed teenagers wake up and realize that the jobs that used to be done by teenagers are now done by Filipinos on work visas. Likely never!
Now now don’t be too hard on Filipinos. My Filipino daughter-in-law came to Canada via a three year Tim Horton’s work visa. She stayed, married my son, and she’s become the gem and treasure of our family, a strong Christian, a hard working, wonderful mother and wife. She’s an addition to Canada not a deficit. She’s never taken a penny of welfare and she is now raising two tax payers who will pay into the system. Give me one Filipino immigrant who spends three years working at Timmy’s to get in over a thousand pregnant Jihadi hijabis, carrying a baby and leading a toddlers and an explodey dope brother walking over the border and expecting the RCMP to carry her luggage any day of the week.
Thank you for this, Justin. Very, very true. Immigrants from many cultures tend to b the hardest working of all because they appreciate the enormous gift they were given.
IMO it’s the government that instills laziness in some.
“…it’s the government that instills laziness in some.”
That’s the Liberal way. Chain migration of extended family dependents who become voting clients of their patron, the Liberal Party of Canada. Immigrants like Justin Burch’s daughter-in-law are more likely to turn out conservative.
My parents expected to pay their own way after coming to this country. They were amazed that the government gave people money through such things as the Children’s Allowance.
Been a fan since the trump rant

Your daughter-in-law is much like my generation of immigrants.
In the years following WW II, “Amerika” (as people from our part of Europe referred to both the U. S. and Canada) had opportunities that weren’t available in the old country. Many of us came for one of the oldest reasons, namely to seek one’s fortune, and lots did. My father made a good living as a machinist because tradesmen like him were in great demand.
Unlike the other respondents I’ll focus on your first sentence. The Labour leadership took it for granted that their membership agreed with them on all of the key items and went for the brass ring. They didn’t realize that their membership is national socialist as opposed to international socialist: protect and support the workers here as opposed to trying to use socialism to cure all the ills of the world.
I remember a time in the late 70’s when a staunch union member being taken aghast at the idea that the NDP in BC wasn’t the party of the worker, that they were the party of the environmentalist (or more accurately, though I didn’t know it at the time: the party of the aggrieved). OF COURSE they would talk about support for globalism and environmental activism, but at the end of the day, he knew that they would always come back to support for the workers. Except the examples that I, as a child, could bring up of the opposite showed him to be wrong. He didn’t/couldn’t counter what I had said, so he left in a huff. The idea of changing his mind about the NDP did not appear to come to him. He KNEW he was right. He KNEW the NDP was “the party of the worker”. Therefore he had to leave, it was a matter of faith. Mere facts and evidence cannot challenge faith.
This difference between local and global is where Labour lost this election, they assumed the support of their historic supporters against what those supporters thought was their own best interest. All politics are local. When the grooming gangs are preying on the children of what should be your supporters, and you tell those parents to be more open minded, expect them to hate you.
Most of their members weren’t socialists but trade unionists, which in the UK have a strong tradition of local community support – untill the international brotherhood types took over.
What will Labour do about whole towns now turning into muslim enclaves and the original Britons forced out? Blair and his ilk, Gordon Brown, Theresa May, Cameron are all hard core lefties that have ruined the UK. Those who fought back like Tommy Robinson paid a heavy price. Its not just Labour politicians that are responsible for the disaster of the UK.
Labour will collect and pay the Jizya like all good dhimmis.
“O Mohammed! Alow the infedel kapos, those pagans, leftest to lead for now, such that the heathens not see, not awaken until too late, and we fully grasp their great cities. Time, womb and their own laws against them, will give us the works of thousands of years without a fight, like the vineyards of elderly, childless farmers.
Surely, Allah is most powerful of us his people. In time, London, Manchester, Birmingham is ours. Then the isolated small towns, one by one will fall or fade away. England. Ours”

I don’t think the firefighter is philosophically a Labour adherent, and I’m not sure he realises that. I think he’s been fighting an internal war against his poltical delusions, and this is probably his last step: I didn’t leave the Party, the Party left me.
That firefighter is of the class that traditionally adhered to Labour and vice-versa. The Party has gone off on philosophical tangents that left his ilk behind, and in this recent election they have at last likewise abandoned their party.
Sure, but from my read of the article, it seems more like he was running down a conservative wish-list than a leftist one. Which, I suppose, is a good argument as to why someone should vote their conscience rather than on a “classist” basis.
Insulting your opponents?
The left hasn’t cornered that market.
Exactly, abtrapper. How does that ‘glass houses’ saying go again….?
Over the 15 or so years that I have been visiting SDA, I have endured more than my share of personal attacks from supposed ‘fellow conservatives’ on this very site, just for trying to offer some different POV’s to counter the groupthink that sometimes occurs here. There are now some topics I just don’t comment on here, because expressing a sincere opinion that counters the majority seems to trigger some of the lesser, hate-filled losers.
The most interesting part of this for me is that the two most mean-spirited, childish and vulgar personal attacks I ever received were both from self-avowed Christians.
So, hypocrisy isn’t limited just to the left either.
Merry Christmas. Maybe Santa will bring you a sense of irony.
As Rodney King once said: can we all get along ?
Thanks for controlling yourself.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
Robert said: “…his main message that insulting your opponents is no way to win them over, will hopefully sink into the small minds of the Leftist Cult members.”
We don’t want them learning, Robert. We want them to amp it up. We want them to scream their hate from the rooftops.
The more they say what they really believe the better.
What dribbling slobbering Nonsense… Call them exactly what they are
“hard core lefties” that have ruined the UK”.
Stop with the Stupid 20th century “Lefties”… call them what they are, or you are a Moron
NO! THEY ARE COMMUNISTS… In the 21 century Communist’s demonstrate & riot, the acts of violent overthrow are not with weapons of War, but Social disruption and misinformation… The MSM & Social Media are their weapons of choice..
But I don’t want them to win the voters over. I want them to continue into the dust bin of history. Hard left! Hard left!
“will hopefully NOT sink into the small minds of the Leftist Cult members”. -fify.
If you don’t want these idiots to take over the world, you need to understand that it’s in normal people’s best interests to let the leftists maintain their delusions of superiority. That way they will continue to be amazed when the mass of voters remain unpersuaded by their insults and condescension. Socialist idiocy is frighteningly popular as policy, and if it weren’t for the obnoxiousness of lefty pundits and politicians we’d probably be a lot further down the road to serfdom than we already are.
I was just sharing this earlier this morning with my wife. I also shared this Jonathon Pie vid from 3 years ago right after Trump got elected.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLG9g7BcjKs
As you’ll notice, Pie gives the exact same analysis and advice 3 years earlier and neither he nor his Leftist audience have learned anything.
This guy is a leftist but he is sometimes funny. But I don’t want the left to wake up, I want to see them slowly disappear up their arses.
I heard this after DJ Trump was elected. I can’t wait for the landslide victory in 2020
