  1. Well of course this is what happens when Morsi ‘MoBro’ goes for the full Pharaoh routine last November.
Next thing you know and the full 10 plagues come back on the government…and “Let my people go!”
    Cheers

  2. If the army blinks the radical Muslims – more radical than the brotherhood will attempt to take Egypt into a mullahcracy similar to the Taliban in afstan.
It’s hard to see how Egypt turns to the west and global free market solutions – the subsidies for food and other things are bankrupting the country – without a massive military crackdown and martial law to stabilize things while the economy adjusts to the (necessary changes). And is the military strong enough and respected enough to pull it off?
Ps- is this HOC usher wanted with an Arab spring in Canada.?

  3. The Christian minority have been persecuted more and more recently and we know He has heard their prayers.
I pray He will act on their behalf as they have remained true and faithful.
Come, Lord Jesus, to bring peace into that troubled situation. Protect your church please, Father. Amen.

  4. Don’t forget that other agent of the Great Satan: Gene Kelly!

  5. Max, agree with you about sending small arms and large quantities of ammunition, but these people are deranged enough already without adding amphetamine psychosis to the mix. While more expensive than amphetamines, modafinil would be a more appropriate stimulant given that staying awake for days on modafinil doesn’t result in psychotic symptoms aside from what one expects for being awake for 96 hours. Pemoline is another option and was apparently the choice of the allied forces in WWII whereas the Wehrmacht ran on methamphetamine.
The best we can hope for is that the Egyptian army deposes Morsi and does some serious housecleaning to eliminate MB paramilitary organizations. Fortunately the army has given Morsi a 48 hour ultimatum and, if the protests escalate, he’ll have the same fate as Mubarak. The last thing that Egypt needs is a religious fanatic in charge given that it’s already an economic basket case and what Morsi has done is to cripple the economy still further with idiotic religious laws.
The Egyptian Christians would likely side with the army as would those individuals who have just realized that if they thought things were bad now, just give the MB another 6-12 months to really show what they can do in their attack on anything newer than the 7th century. If Obozo attempts to interfere with the Egyptian army taking over he’ll risk markedly inflaming anti-US sentiment in the region. Curious how he seemed to be in favor of the people wanting a radical religious muslim government but is against any attempt to discard this experiment in religious extremism in order to return to a more secular form of government.
Larry, interesting interview with Ayaan Hirsi Ali; the Israeli’s know what they’re dealing with as does she, but the moonbats in the west are under the delusion that one is dealing with rational people. Rationale people don’t need a brutal dictatorship to force them into a secular society.

  6. “Muslims protesting in the millions against Islamism”
Yea, I doubt very much it’s about protesting against Islam. More like tribal power grabs especially within the military command.
Like the story say’s “Time will tell”.
At the end of the day whoever gains solidified power in Egypt they will still hate Israel and the west.

  7. The lefty media down here in the States has been trying to bury this. They know how El Presidente’s chummy relationship with the MB makes him look bad.

  8. “just give the MB another 6-12 months to really show what they can do in their attack on anything newer than the 7th century” How about ‘older’, as well? Several of the MB leaders have been muttering words like “idolatry” about the pyramids, and we all know what the Taliban did to those huge, ancient statues of Buddha in Afghanistan.

  9. Ever wonder why the Rosetta Stone is still in the British Museum? “Muslims protesting in the millions…” is why.
Did y’all know that the Rosetta Stone was dug up from a spot where it was being used as rubble fill for a wall? Yup.

  10. If westerners think the Muslim Brotherhood will role over because the military says so then dream on. These people have planned for their takeover for decades. They are well on the way to putting their people in control of ALL aspects of Egyptian life including the military.
Egypt: Many consider them the center of Sunni theocracy but it is Saudi Arabia that bankrolls everything. Civil war likely.
Syria: Sunni push back of the Shittes. The terrorists can keep busy there until the big fight starts in Iraq.
Iraq: The unfinished business there will flair up any time. Sunnis have been planning insurrection there ever since the Americans pulled out.
Afganistan: No one cares. The norm will re-establish itself. The Islamist there have learned their lesson to not train terrorists who attack the USA.
Pakistan: A truly desperate country with little other than nuclear weapons. Who really knows what access Muslim radicals have to those weapons.
As the ME descends into kaos and war and have little sympathy. Time for them to sort things out on their own. Canada should make it very clear that they will not accept the millions who will want to emigrate out of that cesspool.
From an investment perspective I expect oil prices to increase substantially. Another war in Iraq could reduce world supplies by 3 million bpd. That is if the war stays local. Saddam was only miles away from Saudi oil fields and the Iranians might ‘help’ insurgents destroy some Saudi production as a warning to back off supporting Sunnis in Iraq. Through all this I expect my oil stocks to do very well.

  11. The link makes reference to el Masry al Youm. Here is a link to the English
    edition: http://www.egyptindependent.com/
It is probably more anodyne than the Egyptian version but still interesting.
It was shut down a few months ago but is now in operation.

  12. Egypt’s largest ultraconservative Islamist group and its political arm, the Nour party, joined the call for early presidential elections and the formation of a caretaker cabinet. The group did not heed the original calls to protests against Mr. Morsi, but appears to have been influenced by the turnout.
So says the NYT (even they’ve found the anti-Islamist ructions in Egypt difficult to ignore). If that’s true, even the true believers have written Morsi off as a lost cause. Expect pictures of his carcass to appear on Youtube any day now, with Islamist colour commentary denouncing him as a Zionist agent the whole time.
No, the denouement of this new piece of street theatre doesn’t really matter. Whatever replaces Morsi could be any of a number of things, but what it won’t be is a government that will have any respect for the Christian faith or Christian civilization, much less God’s covenant with Israel, nor one likely to learn any such respect without application of overwhelming lethal force.
CT: More to the point, North America, no thanks to Barack Hussein Obama, further approaches self-sufficiency in fossil fuels each day, and the need of Christian civilization to appease Islam further diminishes. The hour is late for assisting the Jewish people in fulfilling their side of their covenant with God—eliminating, once and for all time, the ability of Amalek to make war on Israel.
If it were not for the fact that “the button” is in the hands of a collaborator with Islam, I would ask (and have): What are we waiting for? The performance of your oil stocks would be the least of the benefits.

  13. The facade of these developments conceal the agenda of the global fascists well. My thoughts are that a peace will ensue; a horrific peace.

  14. Unfortunately, a lot of Egyptians are okay with Islamism but they put a much higher priority on a functional economy. The economy has only gone from bad to awful under Morsi’s stunning mismanagement. Turkey’s PM Erdogan should abdicate and take charge of Egypt! He could fix Egypt’s economy like Turkey’s and end Turkey’s civil unrest. Damn I’m good.

  15. “I don’t have a clue where all this is heading. Not a clue. Just about anything could happen at this point.”
The quote above from the article. I think it is heading for a military dictatorship funded by the USA. Just like it was before all the trouble, with some names changed because those guilty are dead.

  16. Millions of Muslims protesting against Islam???
Riiiiiggggghhtttt. You are not a muzzie if you protest against Islam. What a bunch of MSM/Bro crap. Millions??? High by about 3 orders of magnitude. And no muzzie in 1300 years has protested against the pedophile and his theocracy.
Total BS story. Next they will be saying that muzzies be allowed BLT sandwiches, with a few Car-b-qued ribs on the side.

  17. “But the protests have started at a time when Turkey’s economy has begun to slow. There are concerns the US Federal Reserve may end its bond-buying programme early and the economy as a whole which only grew 2.2 percent last year is now down from 8.5 percent in 2011.
The simple story is that so much of Turkey’s success depends on foreign investment and cash. If those investors get spooked by the protests and government’s reaction to them, then Turkey’s economic future will not be in its own hands.”

  18. Religious/cultural violence in the Islamist ME is perplexing to any sane person.
A significant contributing factor may be the culturally acceptable practice of consanguineous marriage.
Intent is to preserve family/tribal wealth – but such unions, especially spanning generations may well lead to many genetically related consequences, including congenital disorders and reduced mental capacity.
Segue – Mental feebleness is not uncommon amongst tribes and well documented.
