  1. The bigger question is-
When is Sun TV News going to figure out we don’t want to watch liberals?

  2. Since they have wornoutcantsellit on I have recinded my access request with telus.
If I wanna hear liberanos lie I will just call boob rae or maybe have a seance and listen to the happyending king, jack whats his name.

  3. “How is private business supposed to make [STC] profitable if the government can’t figure it out?”
    ==================
They already did figure that out. It’s not profitable. That’s why STC is the only bus service available in most rural areas. The question should be, why can’t the government figure that out?

  4. John Himpe is living proof that light travels faster than sound because he looks bright until he starts speaking. Looking forward to the return of John Gormley.

  5. Himpie is a complete idiot. I usually tune out the Gormley show when John is away. Listening to Himpie or Murray Wood is too painful. Himpie has no brain and Wood has no on air personality.
If I was an advertiser I would refuse to pay a nickel for any ad that aired during a Guest Host show, as I am sure the listening audience shrinks to almost nothing.

  6. John Himpie and Murray Wood are both prime examples of “colossal jewels of ignorance”.
I try and listen to them both once and a while but it is a waste of my time.

  7. “How is private business supposed to make [WHATEVER] profitable if the government can’t figure it out?”
That’s the dumbest and funniest thing I’ve heard all day.

  8. John Himpe is used as a guest host because he will make people want Gormley back. Murray Wood does a pretty good job of that, too.

  9. We have the Rutherford Show here in Alberta. When Dave is away it is usually not worth listening to either.

  10. Murray Wood has his moments. When he goes on a tirade against the long gun registry, he earns some respect and displays some common sense. However, these moments are few and far between. Usually he comes across as a clueless idiot.
He is also a fanatical anti-smoking zealot which, in my books, indicates that he has fascist tendencies.

  11. @ biffjr, Murray Wood also has other progressive tendencies and so I turn the station when he comes on. The long gun registry is Murray’s only libertarian trait, but then some NDPeers are also opposed to the LGR, so that is not saying much.
At least John Himpe does not seem to be a progressive.

  12. wow, am i glad i wasnt listening today. as a former STC employee I know first hand about their mismagement and the money they waste.

  13. Government services, at all levels, should only exist for things that a commercial enterprise can’t make profitable at reasonable cost to the end user, or essential services that nobody should be making a profit off of anyway such as the military and law enforcement, basic health care and emergency services such as fire and ambulance.
Our greatest problem is that thanks to the welfare state, we’ve raised successive generations that feel ‘the government’ is responsible for their big screen TV’s and cell phones.
Guess what? the government doesn’t HAVE any money…it all comes from the taxpayer, yet liebrals have strived so hard to make people think that if it’s ‘the government’s money’ then it doesn’t matter how much you take…line up for your handout, just remember to vote for more…

  14. Greyhound is baling out of most of the small towns in Alberta. The present low cost option is to walk. I am nothing but a capitalist but because poor people are involved our government will never consider a crown corporation bus line. Mind you all those poor people are taking ambulances or taxis to get to medical appointments in the cities since the Conservatives turned most rural hospitals into glorified clinics.

  15. Greyhound in alberta is bailing because they wanted to give up the monopoly or go under.
Red Arrow is picking up some routes and intoducing a lower cost service (to them).
    It’s bizness, not gubmint.

  16. puddin n pie
    “It’s bizness, not gubmint.”
In an absence of business maybe gubmint has to act. Red Arrow doesn’t want the out of way small towns either. I don’t know if no public transportation is an option. There are areas (rural/urban) with over 10,000 people without a bus.

  17. Scar “Greyhound is baling out of”
puddin n pie “Greyhound in alberta is bailing”
Spelling anomaly – we are both right – you are righter
-bailing out is correct in the US
-baling out and bailing out apparently have equal use in the UK

  18. Only a true moron would ever ask “How is private business supposed to make [anything] profitable if the government can’t figure it out?”
The implication is that governments are filled with geniuses who have magic wands to wave to solve all social and economic problems.
If they did, all problems would have been solved eons ago. And governments are usually filled with incompetents and party hacks rather than experts on anything.
The fact is that the only difference between government and private institutions is that government is supposed to have a monopoly on the use of coercion. Coercion does not produce, create, discover, invent or innovate. It is only useful in self-defense. That is the proper function of government – to help people defend themselves and to deal with those who initiate the use of violence on others.

  19. STC will probably never be profitable. It serves a need that would not be met if left up to private operators. Grey Hound has bailed on several routes in SK simply because they were not and could not be made profitable.
I have no doubt that STC would profit from better management. As far as the product they deliver, I rode the STC from Regina to Yorkton a couple of years ago and I must say it was a good experience. Nice coach, friendly driver and a much better class of folks than was on the Grey Hound I took from Swift Current to Regina the night before. That leg of the trip was a little tense for me.
As for Himpy – when he’s subbing for Gormley – I’m on another channel.

  20. I like Himpe’s pictures of sunrises. I don’t like that he said the world would be a better place if Kate had never learned to use a computer

  21. “I don’t like that he said the world would be a better place if Kate had never learned to use a computer”
If Kate had never learned to use a computer, then cretins such as Himpe could deliver their drivel and parade their stupidity without ever being called on it.
Would that make the world a better place?
