Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Ed Driscoll has it right. His is a much more accurate cover.
This cover of Time is the mark of a desperate left-wing media who are so deeply stuck in their own ideology than any interest in reporting the truth.
This is right up there with Time’s 1938 pick for man of the year.
(face palm)
Time: best news coverage money can buy.
You can’t deny, they’re pretty much right. What were the bigger news stories this year? Libya protests and the resulting war; Egypt protests and the resulting revolution; Yemen, Russia, Syria, others I’m probably forgetting.
As for the Wall Street protests, go back and look at SDA archives; there’s easily more stories regarding OWS than any other single event/”movement”.
TOutcast has it partially right. The person of the year is usually the one who caused the most impact, regardless of whether it was “good” or “bad”. Who else would you pick?
Thats right powerfactor, but dont you think that instead of getting in the protesters corner against Wall street, maybe Time should be questioning the education system in the U.S.A and the entitlement attitude of the protesters?
“One man’s person of the year is another man’s slack-jawed loser of the Millenium.” — Dennis Miller
I cant believe Obama was not the Time Rag Man of the Year..
Obama has a peace prize.
Guy on that cover has the piss prize.
And the woman protester might as well keep that face covering..
Unpaid ad:
Swish Time away with AdBlockPlus.
Effective, safe, and eco-friendly.
Green Friends of the Earff.
What exactly is the guy on the cover doing? I cannot recall myself ever being in that particular pose and I’ve spent time in the woods.
TIME OUT!
I guess I wasn’t making a political statement in the woods.
Constipated?
Man of the Year rejected by fellow OWS losers because he has been hired by Corporate Giant Ex-Lax.
How ironic.
This TIME ,is it some sort of newsmagazine?
the woods bear is now out of a job????
A new low brought by the spiritual sons & daughters of Marx.
Who really cares about Time the rag anymore?
I bet the indigent wiped his bum with an edition of said times.

I agree Ken (Kulak). Thank-you for the reality check Kate.
That guy in the picture; is short on brains also….///
I figured they’d choose Steve Jobs.
The protestors (arab & occupy) didn’t achieve anything; a year from now they won’t be any better off.
Time lost it’s way a long time ago and nothing more symbolizes the decline of its iconic “man of the year”.
There once was a time when they actually consistently picked an actual individual. Nowadays when they do not have a person who is from the left or the pop culture side who is a good news item they pick some generic group like “you” or “the protester”. As a result man of they year has lost almost all of its relevance. Done like the dinosaurs.
Newsweek sold first, for a buck (the company, not the magazine. How stupid do you think people are?) Thus there are no suckers left to buy Time.
My parents actually subscribed, once upon a time. They’re dead now. So is Time, it’s just unburied.
OWS is over. It’s a fake put-up that’s long past its prime. It’s the Paris Hilton of political substance. All fake and all done.
At least he could have had the decency to crap inside the car , but man of the year?. Nah. Sh*thead of the year….maybe.
Any kind of major meltdown in the US/ Canada economic system will put these people out in the street scrambling for basic survival. (Pandemic, natural disaster, stock market crash, food crisis etcetera…)
It will be epic horrible when that inevitable day comes.
