  1. When I was an earnest, naive young high school student and young adult, back in the Jurassic Era, I really believed that the MSM were pretty much objective, unbiased and honest in their journalism. That they practiced their profession withe the good of their Nation foremost in mind. Now I -and more and more people in the Western Democracies in general- know that’s SHOULD be but NOT what they are. Most decidedly and more and more obviously NOT what they are.
Now, with more decades of experience than I like to think about, I know better. The vast bulk of the West’s MSM are presstitutes for the neo-liberals’ Brave New World. There’s no lie of commission or omission too great or too foul, if it serves the neo-liberals and their fascist agenda.
That’s why the so-called New Media, via the Internet, are so vital to the health of Democracy and the survival of Western Civilization. By getting the truth out there, the New Media, exemplified by this wonderful blog, ARE making a huge difference. Now, lies are being exposed; issues are really being objectively written about and discussed; corrupt, poseur politicians are being exposed. New Media are doing the job that Old Media (“not waiting for the asteroid”, really!) refuses to do, and even pats themselves on the back for that refusal.

  2. All those ’60s counter culture types had to grow up and get a job. The only career posibilities were in academia and the media where their arts degrees were accepted as education….with the bonus that they could advance their political agenda. Cronkheit concealed his lefty notions well until TET…..when he snatched defeat from the Jaws of Victory.
Hopefully this is the high-water mark of progressivism. There are signs that the fiscal problems of the EU are discouraging North American socialists…..Friedman suggesting being Chinese for a day,,,Woody Allan proposing the OBOZO be made dictator for a year or so the “overcome Republican obstruction”.

  3. Anyone who thinks the media is unbiased or should be unbiased is either delusional or a fool or maybe a delusional fool.

  4. “Woody Allan proposing the OBOZO be made dictator for a year or so the “overcome Republican obstruction”.”
Woody Allen?! WOODY F*CKING ALLEN?! That SOB should stick to his area of expertise, pedophilia.

  5. “Woody Allan proposing the OBOZO be made dictator for a year or so the “overcome Republican obstruction”.”
Woody Allen?! WOODY F*CKING ALLEN?! That ignoramus SOB should stick to his area of expertise, pedophilia.

  6. There’s a little-known section in the US Constitution that says Republicans will be punished in excess of the full extent of the law every time, but DemocRats can do whatever the hell they want.
Seriously. Its like the 11 1/2th Amendment. Comes right after the part where the feds can do anything they want and the states have to take it.
I think the Charter says something similar about Liberals and Conservatives. Somebody ask Dalton, he just let one of his boys off a murder rap, he should know.

  7. I believe the root of media bias is they’re inability to compete in the market place. Internet media aside, they are even outclassed in paper and television media by media groups such as TMZ, who most N.Americans, and the MSM look to if they want the scoop immediately. Similar to the comparison between the private and public sector, the MSM, like the public sector quite frankly are not willing to put in the work required to be successful in a free market. Simply put, they don’t want to compete!
Once again you have the elitist mindset in the MSM that believes they are entitled to their cut of the Media Payout Pie; regardless of their contribution to the pie. The root of this entitlement is likely that aforementioned BA that also took very little work to acquire. This type of envy is ramped in many low paying industries composed of university graduates. More often than not, social workers, teachers and other university grads take great umbrage to the fact that they will never earn what a welder or plumber makes. In a reality where all choices MUST be respected (so long as its not conservative choice) the feeling of entitlement to work in your chosen field should be expected. Just like the media is entitled regardless of the markets demand, or their own production. Furthermore, the University’s continue to lower entry standards and increase enrolment jamming more and more people into these faux programs which grows this voting block exponentially. After all, what are the illiterates graduating from public high schools qualified to take in University except the social sciences? They sure as hell couldn’t cut it in a technical college where they teach marketable skills.
The MSM believes wholeheartedly that their product is superior, necessary, and that they should be compensated for it regardless of the demand for their product. They don’t care where the funding comes from, or whether you read or view the product or not; so long as they get paid.
This is why the MSM is bias towards Progressive politics. They understand fully that the only way they will survive(without working) is to be the propaganda arm of whomever will pay for their services. Propaganda and Progressiveness go hand-in-hand, thus the media bias. JMO

  8. Indiana Homez said:”I believe the root of media bias is they’re inability to compete in the market place.”
Don’t ever believe it. The root of media bias is liberalism. They will say any lie or mis-truth large or small, any day, to anyone, if they think it forwards their socialist beliefs and agenda.
As I said in my comments on the WTC site mosque approval, they aren’t merely mistaken. They aren’t even bent on propaganda for their side anymore. They are -saboteurs- bent on destroying their own country, to purge it of unholy Capitalism and individual freedom.
That’s the source of modern media bias.

  9. I think we’re saying the same thing Phantom. They are unwilling to compete for many of the reasons stated above; therefore, “They are -saboteurs- bent on destroying their own country, to purge it of unholy Capitalism and individual freedom.”
That hate of Capitalism, or what I call being unable or unwilling to compete IS the core of
Progressive Liberalism IMO. In a long breathed way, I was trying to analyse the “why” of the hate for western civilization and capitalism.
If the rolls were reversed, and Capitalists were offering a never ending gravy train for the MSM vs. a Progressive movement critical of the MSM; I truly believe the MSM mantra would then be “Go Capitalism Go!”. Like ET’s analysis of BO, the MSM doesn’t seem to be ideologically Left, they don’t have the critical thinking skills to do so(see my earlier comments about Universities). Like BO, Progressive Liberal politics are simply the best vehicle to support their true motives, which in the MSM’s case is… guaranteed income regardless of the demand for their services. Otherwise they’d have to do something different, a different career, or produce better work. Either way, this doesn’t jive with people entitled to do whatever they want.
    So I guess you’re right, it’s liberalism.

  10. Liberals and so called progressives … always on the wrong side of every issue.
This is why it is perfectly fair to judge the condition a mental disorder.

  11. I’m not clear on the intent of “Reports that Bob Woodward is still alive are greatly exaggerated.”
Do followers of SDA believe – as do most, I fear – that Bob Woodward is a paragon of “investigative journalism?” I once did, too; captivated by the “Deep Throat” informant. As I matured, however, and saw the extent of the media bias toward conservatism, I have become suspicious that there might not have been a Deep Throat at all. A contrived “source” that the “Progressive” Democrat propaganda machine (as we see so blatantly these OBalmy days) might have simply fed Woodward some phony-baloney to sabotage Tricky Dicky. Woodward (and his partner, whose name escapes me at the moment) were glorified and raised up as great reporters. And, along the way, they made a sh*tload of money. But worse, they kicked off a new ballgame of “investigative” reportage which, interpreted, means smearing people (example, Sarah Palin). Tell me, SDA friends, am I wrong?

  12. The bimbo in the clip would look MORE intelligent if she simply twirled her panties and said up front “Okay enough, already, I’m BORED”.
Plastic news celebrities, I’m sick of em (twirling sound) “enough already….”.

  13. garrysworld, FWIW I don’t dispute that most of the MSM and “progressive” political parties (i.e. Lieberal Party in Canada, Democratic Party in US) definitely seem to have a symbiotic relationship, a mutual backscratching club. Both of these parties would have long been destroyed IF an honest, competent AND unbiased MSM did it’s job and reported all the facts, all the truth. Fat chance of that ever happening!
But I don’t think Deep Throat was a made up figure. Read on to see why…
And Woodward’s co-“journalist” was Carl Bernstein.
Here’s an interesting excerpt from Bernstein’s Wiki bio: “In his 1989 memoir Loyalties, Bernstein revealed that his parents had been members of the Communist Party, which shocked some because even J. Edgar Hoover had tried and been unable to prove that Bernstein’s parents were party members.”
And another excerpt, from Woodward’s Wiki bio: Woodward said he would protect Deep Throat’s identity until the man died or allowed his name to be revealed. For over 30 years, only Woodward, Bernstein, and a handful of others knew the informant’s identity until it was claimed by his family to Vanity Fair magazine to be former Federal Bureau of Investigation Associate Director W. Mark Felt in May 2005. Woodward has confirmed this claim and published a book, titled The Secret Man, which detailed his relationship with Felt.”

I don’t know about you, but I got the distinct impression that Watergate was a “watershed” event in the history of journalism. Ever since, journalists have been obsessed with uncovering political scandal to the extent that they make stuff up if they can’t find what they’re looking for. There is soooo much good and useful information the public should be exposed to that the journos simply ignore because it doesn’t involve politicians.
