  1. Nine more bank failures announced in the US of A today. The Dow down almost 250 pts. Barring a huge rally in the SP500, the decade of 1999-2009 will go down in history as the worst ever for performance, eclipsing 1929-1939.
Is this a great time to be an investor or what?!

  2. Hey Vit, I apologize for Jumping the cue.
I am now well chastised and promise not to use this forum.
However I appreciate your link to Kate’s Y2Kyoto World Government, Climate Debt, and Enforcement that needs broad attention, sadly perhaps at other civil sense matters.

  3. Thanks for understanding, Joe. The thing about the diurnal SDA Reader Tips entry is that it is principally designed as a place for people to post things that they think are interesting but which would be off topic elsewhere, in order to prevent said elsewheres from ranging off topic. Entwining said elsewheres’ topics here would tend to obviate the whole exercise, I think. That’s the only reason I mentioned it.

Vicky Pope had an article with this headline…
“A new study by the Met Office warns that the world could warm by more than 5C in the next 90 years, if emissions keep on rising. This would be catastrophic for the environment and for humanity”

  5. Vitruvius – I hesitate to question the vocab skillz of the man who made me look up the verb absquatulate, but do you really mean “diurnal”? Isn’t that the opposite of nocturnal?
Does the function of Reader Tips differ from day to night?

  6. Is it just me, or has the Drudge Report really gone down in caliber and content lately?

  7. Not so fast there Mel… how’s that Brasilian embassy working out for you Mel?
“The agreement between Honduras’ legal government and the outlaw Zelaya stipulates that the Honduran congress, with guidance from the Honduran Supreme Court, will vote to determine whether or not to allow Zelaya to return.
You heard that right: the Honduran congress and Supreme Court. The same institutions that voted to oust the criminal Zelaya in the first place.”

No idea if Andrew Breitbart’s departure from Drudge had anything to do with what you are observing, but if you aren’t spending anytime at Breitbart.com, you certainly should be.

    …-
“Republicans warn: Rationing medicine has already begun
President Obama today extended a federal AIDS program that an unlikely pair of Republicans – one blasted for being “anti-gay” and the other chairman of an organization for homosexual conservatives – criticized earlier this month as a foreshadow of the rationing and waiting lists sure to come if the U.S. adopts even more government-run health care programs.
In a ceremony this morning, Obama signed the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act, which continues a federal program that provides up to $2.5 billion annually in medication for AIDS patients.”

  11. The World Hysterical Organization and our medical luminaries hyped H1N1 and urged everyone to get vaccinated and must have been ecstatic about the tragedy of the young 13 year old boy dying so quickly in Toronto as it ignited people to get the needle.
Now we see how poorly and typically a government organ responds in a crisis as vaccination clinics are cancelled for next week and most people will receive the shot by CHRISTMAS. Imagine if it was a real pandemic as the public defines one.

  12. Hey Slap Shot, according to the White House guest list just released,Soros has been at the WH 4 times since BO got there…what’s up with that?

  13. It appears that one Erik Larson – don’t know if it’s our SDA commenter or his namesake – has won Pajamasmedia’s “New CNN Slogan” contest, with his:
“CNN, the number one name in….oh look – balloon boy!”
Congratulations, Eric – if it’s you.

Really Dick, after all the trouble you have caused, now your changing your tune???

  15. One of the definitions of diurnal is “occurring or active during the daytime rather than at night”, Black Mamba, however, one of the other definitions is “relating to or occurring in a 24-hour period; daily”. Therefore, “the diurnal SDA Reader Tips entry” can be read as simply “the daily SDA Reader Tips entry”.
