Y2Kyoto: World Government, Climate Debt, And Enforcement

Beware the UN’s Copenhagen plot

[T]here are 181 pages that make up the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change dated September 15, 2009: a rough draft of what could be signed in Copenhagen. And yet, not one member of the media or political class has bothered to inform us about its contents as an important clue to what may happen in Copenhagen. The shame of that state of affairs started to trickle in last week.

Emails started arriving telling me about a speech given by Christopher Monckton, a former adviser to Margaret Thatcher, at Bethel University in St Paul, Minnesota, on October 14. Monckton talked about something that no one has talked about in the lead-up to Copenhagen: the text of the draft Copenhagen treaty.

[...]

So I read the draft treaty. The word government appears on page 18. Monckton says: “This is the first time I’ve ever seen any transnational treaty referring to a new body to be set up under that treaty as a government. But it’s the powers that are going to be given to this entirely unelected government that are so frightening.”

Monckton became aware of the extraordinary powers to be vested in this new world government only when a friend of his found an obscure UN website and hacked his way through several layers of complications before coming across a document that isn’t even called the draft treaty. It’s called a “note by the secretariat”. The moment he saw it, he went public and said: “Look, this is an outrage ... they have kept the sheer scope of this treaty quiet.”

Monckton says the aim of this new government is to have power to directly intervene in the financial, economic, tax and environmental affairs of all the nations that sign the Copenhagen treaty.

You can hear Monckton speak to the ramifications of this treaty on Youtube.

Anthony Watts has highlighted other passages, among them;

17. [[Developed [and developing] countries] [Developed and developing country Parties] [All Parties] [shall] [should]:]
(a) Compensate for damage to the LDCs’ economy and also compensate for lost opportunities, resources, lives, land and dignity, as many will become environmental refugees;
(b) Africa, in the context of environmental justice, should be equitably compensated for environmental, social and economic losses arising from the implementation of response measures.

Monckton amd Beck have been mentioning the Maurice Strong One World Gov't thing lately. I believe it is the reason for the whole GW Kyoto scam.

Over the passed few years I have had lots and lots of email exchanges with many prominent Canadian Journalists. I am thankful for them taking time to responded.

Although they often did respond, nothing but nothing guaranteed their silence more than my mentioning Maurice Strong.

They say there is a reason for everything - so what the he!! is it !?

Copenhagen is the fulfillment of Chairman Mo's machinations. It has nothing to do with "saving" the planet. It is all about controlling the planet and destroying any semblance of liberty and freedom. The main target, of course, is the United States. Unfortunately, the beacon of liberty in the world is currently being led by a compliant stooge all too willing sell his own country out for the enrichment of Chairman Mo and Boss Soros

The copenhagen agreement has zero chance of passing. thus the nefariousness of its text will have nil effect.

It may be enough. We shall see.

I'm really pleased to see this post on SDA. I hope it gets a lot of attention and that it is indeed read by Prentice and his aides, and by Prime Minister Harper and his aides as well. Even better would be if PM Harper could find an hour of time to meet with Lord Christopher Monckton, who has expressed respect for and confidence in Mr. Harper to a much greater extent than any other western leader.

Posted by: felis corpulentis at October 30, 2009 1:27 PM

Fred, thanks for mentioning that. I'll make a special point of watching Beck this afternoon.

Gord Tulk, I admit I haven't been getting my head around the political machinations underlying the upcoming Copenhagen debacle. So, I'm curious, on what basis do you conclude it is destined for failure? I do hope you're correct.

emissions by at least 45 per cent below 1990 levels by 2020 and by more than 95 per cent below their
1990 levels by 2050.]

Which means we all go back to the late 1800s !! All, except the Kult leaders, that is.

All in the name of starving the earth's plants. There is no No NO benefit to lower co2 concentrations. There is Is IS mega downside to lower co2 conc.

Optimum plant growth and food production occurs between 1200 ppm and 1500 ppm.

Below 200ppm plants stop growing and WE all die also.

So what the he!! is wrong with today's 380ppm ??

Especially when we KNOW adding more co2 has virtually no more GW effect. And we know the only tipper in his tipping-point is his wife :)

CO2 concs have been much higher in the past and the earth did not burn up.

Posted by: ron in kelowna at October 30, 2009 1:37 PM

Colin: the plain fact is that the key players - most notably the US - but also Russia, china and India have no interest in it passing. While Obama can say he is in favour of it as he is in favour of cap and trade, the US senate will have none of it. A potus has no power to enter into treaties without the senates okay. Without the US much of the rest of the world will not sign (our prime minister has said as much). Hence Copenhagen has been hopeless for quite sometime now. And thus the drafters gave largely been the radicals as those with real power couldn't be bothered. The result is an almost comical document that will collect dust.

This is serious business people, your children and grand children will be nothing but a slave to the state if this lunacy is not stopped. Posted by: bartinsky at October 30, 2009 1:49 PM

I especially like the part where they exclude Nuclear power and Hydro-electric power as a viable means to reduse emissions.

Another paragraph states that in cases of climate emergencies, action has to be taken without waiting for scientific proof. It is an emergency after all.

Absolute garbage from start to finish.

On the bright side, I may have found a non medicinal cure for low blood pressure.

They also told me unless I bore the mark of the beast, I would not be able to buy and sell anything in the last days. If that were true, then how in the world could you get all us heathens to sign on to such an obvious scheme?

I suppose I won't be laughing if the beast demands we submit to personal carbon tracking. In the New Religion, a bag of gold won't be enough to buy a loaf of bread, will it?

As I've said, I'm depending on the greed and lack of philanthropy typically demonstrated by the left to prevail in this case. I just can't see BO and the socialists handing out a piece of their pie.

Hello Mr. Prime Minister, (Harper)

I am writing to you about the Copenhagen climate Treaty. I am very concerned that this treaty will place a burden on myself and my children that we will be unable and unwilling to bear. I am not willing to
transfer my country's wealth to some third world country, possibly Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, or Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe. Or any other country. Paying for injured dignity? I think not. I trust that our environment will be policed locally. As
we see fit. I think your government has done a stellar job running our country, better than any other in my lifetime, but I am nervous that the environmental zealots are pushing your government in a wobbelly direction. Please do not sign on to the Copenhagen Climate Treaty. I have taken the liberty of including a post from smalldeadanimals.com by way of cut and paste. I trust you are already aware of all this but to be sure, please read. Kyoto Treaty was wrong so is this Treaty.

Thanks, ****** * ******

My letter to the PM:

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

I am sending this email in response to a posting at www.smalldeadanimals.com. Earlier today, Kate posted a link to the Copenhagen Climate Change Treaty Draft. I took the opportunity to briefly scan the document and what I read was very disturbing. I am sure I don’t have to inform you of details regarding the content of this document, but I would like to take this opportunity to express my concerns with the document.

Firstly, I have great concerns that this document, by identifying Canada as a developed country, makes us responsible for reducing our own emissions while helping other countries become developed. The document goes to the extent to label us as in debt to the world because of our previous emissions as a developed country. As a result of this, Canada’s economy will toil under mandated emissions control while we are expected to siphon money out of our economy to help less developed countries. I have no doubt that there will be many countries falling under the “developing” criteria, and these counties will have a say in how much money Canada will have to ante up.

Secondly, the document basically says the “committee” will decide which science is sound and that will determine the actions that said committee will take in response to climate change. As an Engineer, I find this very disturbing. History is full of scientists who were not believed by various “committees” in power because their findings were not in line with the status quo.

Finally, this document states that all signing parties accept that climate change is real and needs to be addressed. As an Engineer, I have seen a lot more data refuting climate change than I have seen supporting it. In fact, the basis of the whole global warming movement, “The Mann Hockey Stick Graph”, has been refuted by a fellow Canadian, Steve McIntyre. Many sources of error in the global warming theory have been identified, yet the same old ideas and statements keep getting regurgitated as fact and anyone who questions them is ridiculed.

In closing, I realize that climate change is a political hot topic, but I believe that we, in Canada, can manage our own affairs without putting our future into the hands of a group that will not have our best interests at heart. Please remember that Canadians gave you the mandate to govern in the last election when your opponent Mr. Dion was running on his “Green Shift” platform. If Canadians were willing to be part of this type of funds transfer, we had the chance to vote for it in the last election.

Mr. Harper, I have faith in your government and I believe that you will be better able to do the right things for Canada without having your hands tied by a Treaty that does little more than transfer wealth from developed countries to developing countries. Please don’t sign this Treaty.

Respectfully,

Trevor

For all of you who have downloaded the draft treaty it is easy to find out the scam at the heart of the treaty. Just search on the word billion. It comes up 4 times and all refer to the money the developed world is going to transfer yearly to the developing world.

It's not about setting emissions targets it's all about getting an enforceable wealth transfer treaty in place run by the UN.

It is a precise reminder of how outside control can subtly creep in, and we sure don't need Canada to be subservient or on-the-hook for anything in these global shenanigans. Beware PM Stephen Harper, for something is indeed "rotten in Denmark".

Posted by: Tripper523 at October 30, 2009 8:28 PM

I still have faith in the US Senate not to ratify a protocol as flawed as this Kyoto2. Obama may sign on, but it still has to pass the Senate. In 1997 the Byrd-Hagel Bill passed by a fairly comfortable majority of 95-0. This was when Al Gore was presiding over the Senate as Vice president. This bill basically was a preemptive stike against Kyoto stating that any protocol serously damaging the US economy was unacceptable. Because of this bill, Clinton and Gore never submitted Kyoto to the Senate. The Senate has changed since 1997, but not to that extent. I certainly hope not.

At what point are the sane, productive, democratic nations going to walk out of the UN and leave it to the corrupt, despicable and amoral members running the Orwellian-inspired committees, such as the Human Rights Committee run by the worst human rights violators on the planet? A Canadian government with the cojones to ditch UN membership would have my loyalty for life. A US government with cojones enough to expel the UN from American soil would likely inspire the loyalty of the majority of americans. Why are we letting the lunatic lefties ruin the most free, prosperous and advanced continent on Earth?

Posted by: Tanker at October 30, 2009 9:53 PM

So how is this going to work?
We are going to increase the costs to business here through taxes and regulations which will result in the closure of the clean factories here and the production will be moved to new dirtier factories in China.
Chinese industry is more polluting per unit of production.
And we will ship raw materials there and the finished products back here.

So this treaty will increase real pollution and C02 emissions, not decrease them.
The choice for the environmentalists is clear, a shiny new world wealth redistribution scheme or a cleaner environment.
Pick one or the other.

Climate Debt - Last 50 years of Foreign Aid -Peace Keeping Costs - UN Assessments - World Bank and IMF Funding - NGO Aid = ??

Just a thought on how one would counter the UNFCCC Treaty portion on Climate Reparations.

The Developing world has been getting pretty regular payments from the developed world for some time. This does of course not negate the potential dangers involved. I would just Advance some things that may make you wonder about Global Government.

Roles of Government
1) Civil Defense = UN Peace Keeping Forces
2) Financial Policy /Currency = World Bank + IMF
3) Foreign Trade = World Trade Organization
4) Laws and Courts = World Court/WTO

Each one by itself is thought of as benign and institutional required for globalization, combine them and you have a really good start on Global Government.

My letter to the Prime Minister --

Dear Prime Minister Harper:

I urge you not to sign the climate treaty that will be moved for adoption at the UN climate conference in Copenhagen this December. This treaty is founded on junk science and, if implemented, will seriously damage the economies of Canada and the rest of the developed world.

Despite years of searching by tax-funded organizations world-wide no one has found a human influence on climate that can be distinguished from natural influences. The planet Earth has undergone dramatic climactic swings from hot to cold and back again without any human involvement. We don't understand what triggers ice ages and we don't understand what triggers the warm interglacial periods. Since we don't understand why natural variations in climate occur, how can anyone say they know how humans are influencing climate? Absent evidence to the contrary, isn't the most likely explanation for the warming that occurred in the last two decades of the 20th Century the most obvious one -- natural climate variation? Further, if carbon dioxide is the catalyst for warmer temperatures, why has the earth cooled a bit in the last decade while CO2 levels have continued to rise?

The whole "scientific" foundation for the notion of human-caused global warming is the output of computer models. Since these models failed to predict the current global cooling, why does anyone give them credence?

Yet these flawed models are the foundation of the UN's global warming agenda. And from that agenda has emerged an economic treaty for signing in Copenhagen. That treaty calls upon Canada and other developed countries to cripple their own economies with emissions cut-backs and then to hand over money as a "climate debt" (sin tax?) payment to third world countries. All of this transfer of wealth is to be overseen by a world government-type organization with the power to penalize countries for non-compliance.

This treaty is the solution to a non-existent problem and should be rejected for that reason alone. But beyond that, it represents a loss of sovereignty over our economy if we sign on to this wealth transfer scheme. Reject this treaty, Prime Minister. It is contrary to the best interests of Canada.

Posted by: ron in kelowna at October 31, 2009 12:24 PM

The African cleptocracy is salivating at the thought of the wealth transfer. Imagine, they no longer have to be responsible in government to develop the wealth of their countries. All they have to do is maintain power and keep their people subjugated and in poverty to receive massive amounts of money which they can channel into their personal bank accounts.
What better way to justify this wealth transfer than to keep their people poor, starving, without education and without a polluting manufacturing base. No matter that in order to survive Africans turn their environment into a wasteland that further destroys the continent. This is reverse pollution and in stead of sympathy African governments should be held responsible. These thugs and criminals run the UN and to hand them control would be the most disastrous choice we could make.

I challenge you to actually download and read the excerpts that have been quoted, as to the 'one world government', etc.

It truly is the secession of sovereignty, to a foreign entity, based upon a nefarious, dubious, and some would, outright fraudulent policy of AGW.

It would truly bankrupt the US, which would drag Canada down the tube soon after.

Would that make you feel good that an African despot is being made more dangerous and ruthless, thanks to stolen funds from the US? That is the end of result of this flawed, dangerous, and deceptive 'treaty'.

I hope Jim Prentice or one of his aides reads SDA.

Why would that matter? Prentice is the one bringing in the Green Shift and carbon tax on Canadians.

He's the progressive that wants the social justice part in there...
