  1. This is irrelevant. Read some science books.
Weather is a N-State chaotic system. Global warming can cause certain areas to be colder.
Everybody who has studied global warming for more than 5 minutes knows that at the micro level, global warming causes CLIMATE CHANGES: that is, in same areas the temperature will go down while in others the temperature will go up.
Global warming will be calculated using the sums of the average of the climate changes in various areas.

  2. qs “globalwarming causes climate change.” Well, global cooling also causes “climate change”, so what`s your point? “Some areas the temp will go up, others the temp will go down.” Gee, you mean the same thing that`s been happening for the last 4 and a half billion years? Like before there was man or suvs? How do you know it`s not global cooling that`s causing the temp to go up or down? The earths` been stagnent or in a slight cooling for the last ten years. Of course the only constant in your “temps go up and down” line is the sun. Temps went up and down before man, they go up and down during man. Ergo, it`s the sun.

  3. Right on j.l. QS can separate to another planet
maybe there he can convince them the sky is falling. “There are none so blind as those that choose not to see”

  4. quebecois separatiste …does it ever stop? Your gobbledigook about climate change GOING UP OR GOING DOWN is totally irrelevant. Unless you can tell me EXACTLY what will happen when we decimate our economy to do your bidding..then I and most Canadians will turn a deaf ear. How is it that you can be so blind to the fact that as humans we are not that significant in how the climate manifests itself. Only an immensely arrogant person would believe they can bring about a reversal of these so-called CHANGES by parking our cars or unravelling our industrial realities. You are so deluded it’s painful to watch.Face it no matter what we do, mother nature will do what she pleases….always has and always will!

  5. I was going to mention that AGW enthusiasts will not be swayed by such occurrences. The theory is conveniently malleable, so they take any weather type and make it fit the model by resorting to the phrase “climate change” (insert scary violin music here).
But I see Quebecois kind of beat me to the punch…

how about YOU study statistics and learn how to set up a study, and you fool will understand what is wrong with the BS we are being fed on AGW and “climate change”. As the methods in use are not able to accurately track energy shifts, the analysis of the data they have is highly questionable, and the conclusion absurd.

  7. laughable comment qs –
if Kate’s anecdotal stats are anything to go by, there are plenty of people who visit this very blog who are well educated AND have studied the AGW theory for far more than 5 minutes and they are very much unconvinced of its veracity. Next time try and prove your point rather than resorting such absolutist quasi-ad hominem language.

  8. Nice dodge, QS.
But then if we’re to totally ignore local effects of “weather” and only concentrate on “climate”, then I guess the AGW hysterics had better cease & desist with talks of more hurricanes, tornadoes, heat waves, etc… right?
    Hypocrite.

  9. The global warming fraud story is becoming more clear by the day. Attention is now focusing on why the media was so disgustingly complient.
It is easy to see why others were pushing the hoax.
The United Nations – a One World Governance thing.
    Universities – grant dollars.
    Albert Gore – a hundred million dollar$
    Politicians – tax money
The left – more gov’t control.
Intellectuals (a misnomer) – pretending they understand a hopelessly complex system.
Hollywood – fear sells at the box office too.
    But, why the media ?
Because fear mongering sells papers ?
To support controlling politicians through fear ?
The media really does believe in catastrophic AGW ?
They believed it initially, in too deep now to change ?
They never believed it but it suited their agenda ?
They carry on supporting the fanatics, hoping the story will fade ?
They cannot admit they we’re horribly mistaken as their readers will not believe them again on anything – for years, if not decades ?
Because journalism school leaves them hopelessly unprepared for the real world ?
Reuters, AP, Thompson gives the marching orders ?
    All of the above ?
The GW story has legs because it is the biggest fraud the world has ever seen. Hell hath no fury like someone who realizes they have been had, bilked.

True. I know of at least one meteorologist who visits SDA regularly. I think there are at least 2, to be honest, and I would be interested to find out who that is, because I probably know that person.
Anyhow, it’s completely laughable for anyone to attribute climate change to anything at all, in a definitive kind of fashion. The observation methods are suspect. The governing equations are in question. The computer formulations thereof are piss poor, for numerous reasons. (Well, piss poor for making any definitive, deterministic forecast, anyhow.)
But QS will bury his or her head in the sand, claiming that the science is settled, that we are all heretics for questioning things, and that all those right of his or her position are knuckle-dragging neanderthals who are in the pockets of big oil.
Well QS, some of us know better, and perform ACTUAL science–you know, the type where you are FOREVER skeptical and always questioning.
    Separate THAT.

  11. Awe c’mon you know that only the faithful are allowed to jump to conclusions about local weather and Climate Change!
But they ARE allowed … just ask one!

  12. Thanks for the hearty laugh all!
ROFL Ah sweet denial in la la land…smells like a distinct and separate one to me.
Can’t abandoned the poor GW baby now, it’s their latest cash cow and dione is the proud new papa!

  13. Last winter I kept a close watch on the Environment Canada weather stas in the arctic. One station, Eureka, reported extremly cold and way below normal temps. I tried to send my data as a “letter to the editor” to at least three major Saskatchewan newspapers; all three scrapped my letters. All I can say is that I’d be willing to bet that our below average temp in W. Canada (2008) is directly related to cold arctic weather. But that’s not what moron Dion and his CBC and other leftist followers want to hear.

  15. What are going to believe, your lying skin or tree ring data massaged with a computer model?

  16. as i read it the latest ‘mantra’ coming down the pike is “OXYGEN DEPLETION” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you heard it here on SDA first…

  17. Sorry, john begley, but the next cause of the “ddt is bad, so who cares that millions of died”, “nuclear power is bad, so who cares about the pollution created by the alternatives”, “incineration of waste is bad, so let’s truck it all over north america”, “recycling is good, even though we have created a parallel waste disposal system that only benefits the mob” will be the fact that we are “allegedly” running out of water.
Maude Barlow has already started with the “sky is falling, we are going to run out of water any day” groundwork, and bombardion has said that water will be his next crusade.
Having just returned from a one week boat trip up the Rideau Canal, traversing numerous lakes and rivers, I can say with authority that we will not die of dehydration in eastern Ontario anytime soon. ALL of our lakes and rivers are FULL of water(honest, there is actually lots of water in our lakes and rivers, real water!)
F@#$ing jerk off moonbats just cannot get through a day without having some manufactured crisis to whine on about.
    THE SKY IS NOT FALLING
WE ARE NOT GOING TO MELT

  18. “q s . you really can’t be that stupid”
Uh, he has given us plenty of evidence that he is.
To give QS is due though, there are others who hold his opinin about weather before global warming and “climate change”, and they sing about it too, and live great, carbon free, lifestyles. Just like how QS wants us to live.

  19. We’ve been experiencing very cool nights this August here although I’m happy to see Denver’s cold front heading our way. I’d like to take my new clubs to the driving range for a few minutes without becoming drenched in perspiration. The humidity here is tough to overcome even with the temp in the 80sF. Is Celsius used in Canada? Stop it. For goodness sake.
