  2. These two inadvertantly brought up a microcosm example that reflects exactly where we are today, and why. Laine noted that the Canadian government has compared the current relationship with the US as reflective of the Berlin Wall.

    The irony there is pretty amusing, but in a unique sort of way. In November of 2024, the EU held a commerorative event for world leaders to participate in the 35th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Here’s the irony. Although Ronald Reagan (and the Conservatives of Congress) were primarily responsible for that accomplishment by forcing the Russians to compete in commiting finances they didn’t have, eventually leading to a collapse of their economy, and eventually the collapse of the Soviet Union…..Ronald Reagan was not mentioned by name once during the entire public event. Not by EU representatives. Not by North American representatives (including the US and Canada).

    Simply put, providing accolades to a President who valued conservative principles and sovereignty didn’t fit the narrative….for anyone participating. So, when Canada invokes the Berlin Wall in the current situation, one has to wonder what side they want to win.

    1. I’m old enough … and still cognizant enough … to remember just how hated and reviled RR was for his “belligerence” toward the Soviet Union. Funny thing … Starmer and Macron both just accused Trump of “belligerence” toward Iran and a feckless NATO Everything RR said about and did to the USSR was called idiotic … right up until the wall fell … the inmates were freed … and they actually told the whole world what they thought of RR … their hero!

    Canada is the left overs,so it makes good sense we are a disfunctional socialist hellhole.
    For most every clear thinker,born in Canada for the last 8 decades,has got up and gone.
    The USA has and still does reward smart ideas and hard work.
    Canada has insisted on punishing all productive behaviour.
    So all we have left are the stupid,those of us who thought it would improve..
    And the parasites.
    Who are enormously fat at our expense.

      I’m shocked Carney wasn’t at the self-pleasuring breakfast this morning with Macron and that chicken-shit Starmer who claims to be leading the UK. Surely the Canadian wooden boats would enhance the pretend-navy that the Eurogirls believe will take control of the Straits of Hormuz after the US has cleaned up the Death to the West cult and carted away all the weapons-grade nuclear material.
