  1. There’s been a list of potential health violations posted regarding the ostrich killings and their current storage. Some folks think the entire herd was infected which may be a problem as there are +300 of them rotting now in unsealed containers in an storage facility. You’d think if they were toxic, or infected, someone within the BC Gov’t would have a problem with that.
I don’t know if the BC Minister responsible is going to just make a sweeping decree saying this is all good with her, I’m under the impression she’s not “a king” … so some rules may need be followed…
(It’s a long list, 8 major problems are listed, I’ve copied the first 2)

    “Super Save Disposal’s Direct Violations”

“1. BC Hazardous Waste Regulation (B.C. Reg. 63/88) under Environmental Management Act.
Biomedical/pathological waste (infected animal carcasses) is explicitly hazardous waste. Super Save has zero registration as a hazardous waste facility or consignee and is not on any BC Ministry of Environment list for biomedical waste handlers.

    Violated sections:
    – Part 1 definitions (biomedical waste)
    – s. 8 & 9 (no person shall store hazardous waste except at an authorized facility)
    – s. 10 (storage time/conditions)
    – s. 11 (manifest requirements)
    – Part 4 (return requirements if unable to dispose).

Penalty: up to $1,000,000 per day + 7 years prison (knowing violation) or $300,000 + 6 months (standard). This has been running 10+ days = potential $10M+ in fines.

    2. Environmental Management Act s. 6(2) & 6(3) – Unauthorized Discharge of Waste Causing Pollution.

Leakage of liquefied carcass fluids onto asphalt + daily chemical wash-down = deliberate introduction of waste into the environment. Decomposition fluids contain blood, bacteria, potential prions, and now whatever virucide/accelerant they are spraying.

This is a strict-liability offence with massive daily fines and mandatory cleanup liability (Super Save would pay for any soil/groundwater remediation, even if CFIA hired them).”

  2. Passport Canada will put “Palestine” as your place of birth but not “Israel”.

“since Prime Minister Mark Carney declared recognition of a Palestinian state, some cities are eligible to be put as Palestine as their birth country,” listing cities such as “Nablus, Jenin, Ramla, Jerusalem.”
